We will wake you up bright and early in your hotel and drive towards the Piuray Lake located at 45 minutes away from Cusco. Here your Yoga trainer will teach how to breathe, relax, mediate and enjoy to the fullest one most beautiful natural landscapes we have in Peru. We will enjoy the breathtaking views throughout an energizing yoga and meditation session.
After this, we will drive for 20 minutes to Chinchero, very popular for its local market, colonial church and agricultural terraces. We will spend plenty of time in this place before we start driving along the mountains until Moray. Famous because of the circular terraces where the Inca engineers used to adapt product to different climates. In the surroundings we will participate preparing PACHAMANCA.
PACHAMANCA is traditional way of cooking underground: you will buried your food personally always guided by locals to make sure we do it right and enjoy a great feast afterwards. The process of will take about 45 minutes and in the meantime your Guides will take out the matts and perform with all of you probably the highest and most beautiful yoga and meditation sessions ever overlooking the great mountains that surrounds the area.
The second part of your tour will be first a 30 minutes’ drive to Maras and visit the old Colonial Buildings with the original ancient doorways, later we will arrive to Salineras where farmers still extract salt since the Inca time, spent a lot of time experiencing the history, process, and benefits of salt we will start our journey back to Cusco arriving around 5:00pm back to your hotel.
CHINCHERO. It’s another district of Cusco regions located at 45 minutes’ drive from Cusco famous because it’s local market, colonial church and the faming terraces. The people that live in the district are mainly indigenous Quechua descendant dedicated mainly to the agriculture and weaving.
MORAY. Located at 3,500 meters (11,500 ft.) compound by 4 circular terraces each of them has its own irrigation system. It was the “greenhouse of the Incas”, used for the agricultural experimentation, adaptation of different crops due to the huge difference between each terrace enabling to get different microclimates and plants.
SALT MINES. The Salieneras has been in this places since pre-Inca times in an impossible steep mountain slope; the villager of Maras harvest the sold in more than 3000 thousand ponds using the same technology of their ancestor did. The process takes about a month placing the salty water every day to the pools to later be evaporated until it gets about 10 cm high to be harvested and sent to the local markets.
