- P4009AQlancec00The Best Way to Spend a Day in PunoMany thanks go to our wonderful guide, Samuel, for an awesome experience. The trip was outstanding and very well organized. Everything was great, from the hotel pickup all the way to getting dropped off at the end of a full day of incredible sights. The floating islands are touristy of course, but still worth seeing. Taquile was SUPER interesting, especially the people. And originally we thought we wouldn’t get to see Sillustani because of the protests, but the team made it happen, and we are so grateful! It was DEFINITELY the highlight. We would 100% recommend the tour and the Inca Lake team in particular. What a day!
- anit97000Excellent guide and Taquile visit, rest not so muchFirst off, our private tour guide Samuel was excellent - very knowledgeable and helpful. The speedboat was smooth but did not have good air circulation inside, it felt a bit stuffy inside. At the Uros Islands, we were told that we would get a ride in the reed boat around the island for 15 sol/pp, but we only went a couple of hundred yards and came back. The houses we saw on the small section of the islands were obviously not ones that anyone lived in, but rather were there for show and to sell stuff. Taquile Island was very nice indeed, the highlight of the trip for us. The trout lunch served there was excellent, though very limited vegetarian options. The commentary on the boat itself was haphazard and not very informative. We were never informed about safety measures or life jackets, though our guide assured us there were some on the boat.
- Dette8600Wonderful tour of UrosThis was a great tour - three hours is plenty of time to learn about the islands and the people. We had a local guide who really knew the culture and history. Definitely do this trip as it’s door to door service and we booked it same day.
- 441bastianb00Make sure you read my Review. We had a great time on this tour with Hugo and Samuel We visited the island community in Urus, followed by a stop on the island of Taquile, where we had lovely lunch with views over Lake Titicaca. We then came back to Puno to take a quick trip to Sullustani to see the pre Inca and Inca burial sites. Highly recommend the tour.
- egilmagnusc00Nice trip on the Titicaca Islands!Nice trip to the Titicaca lake. The pickup and communication with the company by WhatsApp was efficient and with quick response. Good demonstrations and explanations of how the the Uros islands was built up and good knowledge and friendliness in our tour guide Samuel :) we also liked the Taquile Island. Beautiful view at the restaurant and good food. Be aware that the sellers at the Uros Islands might try to hustle you when buying their products. They first said $ 35 for a piece of handwork, but as we said no and walked away, they immediately reduced the price to $ 20. This unfortunately led to our total experience of the Uros society being not as genuine and warm as we first felt…
- DavidN74500Fantastic tour of Uros and TequileWe really enjoyed the tour and had a fantastic tour guide, Samuel. It was very interesting to learn about the Uros people and their floating islands plus see Taquile island and the people that live there.
- nicholeh44500Loved every minuteWe had a wonderful day and quite a unique experience visiting the floating islands, learning about their culture, taking a ride on those reed boats! Outstanding! Lunch on the bigger island was delicious and such a great time! I would recommend this tour!!
- Pawel_Travel_8200Full day tour - Uros, Taquile and SillustaniThe tour is great opportunity to see the famous islands, local culture and people. For some travellers Uros islands may look like commercial ones prepared for tourists but for me it was real and unique. Islands are really made of totora roots and reeds, people are really living there and you can really go there only by boat. Amazing experience, this place is legendary, like from National Geographic programs. Taquile island was ok, nothing spectacular but when you realize that you are at island at Titicaca lake, you know it it a special place. And Sillustani - very magical place, ancient graves, beautiful landscape and sunset (even if it was raining before). You can find there a ramp built next to one of chullpas - a for me it explains a lot ;-) Our guide (I can't remember his name, sorry) was very nice and kind, told us many interesting facts. After boat cruise we took a car to Sillustani. We had short time but guide made everything on time so we couls see the spot. All tour was well organized, I recommend that company. - marilenan83200Great and well organized tour!Very well organized company and tour, knowledgeable tour guide who knows good English, amazing experience in the Titicaca lake. I would recommend this tour for sure!
- AlishaT00Cultural Experience! My husband and I really enjoyed learning about the culture of Uros Island and it was interesting to be invited into one of their houses. Our tour guide, Samuel, was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the islands. Taquile was also very interesting. We got to see a traditional dance and the lunch provided was good. If you are English speaking like us, Samuel is a wonderful guide. Can’t say enough good things about him as a guide!
- J8085WOluisas00Experience in Unos, lake TiticacaReally amazing tour and the people from the tour was very nice. We had the chance to meet the people from the islands and get the whole experience. I will highly recommend it
- nathaniel s00Amazing Afternoon!Trip with Samuel was great! Had an amazing afternoon exploring the Uros Islands. Would highly recommend for a relaxing afternoon!
- DarekBin00Interesting experience, not managed well.I always wanted to visit Uros and the lake Titicaca. And now I can tell that I have. But… it’s a strange experience. Other reviewers mentioned - locals are turned into actors for the tourists. They even offer you to put on their clothes to take photos, and enter their houses inside… felt wee invasive and uncomfortable. First island we got off - 6 families lived on. A nice gentleman answered our questions via our guide. Then after half an hour there, seeing an actual island where the people live on, we went to the 2nd one, but not to explore. To spend money… tourist trap… the guides/boat drivers must have a deal with the island occupants to stop there… we had no choice but to wait for others to finish their meals. 20 minutes turned to 35. Obviously there’s nowhere to go if you want to finish early.. The tour went from 3hrs to 3hrs45min. Definitely too long. Our guide spoke a good English, but had no guiding skills. Talked very low voice, hard to understand. Puno had very little to offer, and the tour was strange. But I’m still glad that I experienced it. I just wish it was done differently. Like having one island turned into some kind of museum/heritage site. Where you’d learn about the culture, learn how to make the islands and houses from reeds etc. And all should be done by local Uros, just so they keep most of the money, and not tour operators. Otherwise you go to someone’s house - that didn’t sit well with me… Meal stop was definitely unnecessary. It was a 3 hour tour - bringing snacks would be enough for everyone. Also, I wouldn’t eat there. No fridges on most of the islands. Maybe yes on this one, but I’d worry if the food is properly stored, washed. Not for my stomach.. Few words about our tour company/ tour guide. I normally don’t criticize personally, but here I have to… We were scheduled to be picked up by 12-12:15pm. Our tour guide picked us up from the hotel 12:05ish And drove to the port. There was no boat waiting for us. He then called the boat driver asking where he is. We could tell something was off. Turned out the boat left without us, and the driver had to come back… he wasn’t far into the lake, just few minutes. But when he pulled in, Richard said that these are 9am passengers and we will just go on the boat after they get off. No one got off. So he lied to us, tried to cover it - the boat left without us.. not good. It was just 2 of us on the boat via this tour operator, so it was a private tour. But more passengers on the boat. Mix of people with boat transfers only(what we should have done) and other guide with few passengers. Also we were told we can go on the top of the boat for better views. And we did, but the benches weren’t even fully mounted in, nor the ramp. I can see accidents happen if heavy weight groups were there leaning against it. No life jackets offered/or it’s location explained. Safety concerns. I still recommend visiting Uros, as it’s once in a life time experience. Lives such different to ours. But not with this tour company. I’d book the cheapest option, even without a guide, as you still can get off the boat. I pretty sure you can book just a boat transfer for 10-20 soles I spread of 30USD up. There are all day tours offered, to other islands - further into the lake. Can’t tell much about that experience. But if it’s similar to short tours - not worth it in my opinion. Too much money and time spent..
- W1203GUsarahd00Great experienceIt was an amazing experience, from the tour guide, boat ride, visiting the locals of the history and how they made their island was just an interesting experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone passing by Puno to book this experience. The food was lovely too!
- TeamTravis00Good trip and value for moneyGood trip and very helpful guide. It was worth going. While there’s a big upsell as previously mentioned you can tell it’s hard to make ends meet on those islands so I don’t blame them. Total value for money
