- B2616GQangelab0 contributionsBest experienceThe trip was beyond everything I've had imagined! It was super good organised by Trexperienxe/the team, the landscapes were stunning, and our guide, Roger, was just amazing. He told us a lot about the country & people, and always thought of everything. Accomodation was super nice, and we had the best peruvian food (also vegetrian!) prepared by the chef, Alejandro. All in all 5/5, I can only recommend this trip with Trexperience.Written September 15, 2024
- lindahT742GQ0 contributionsBest 4 days at Salkantay TrekI had an amazing time on the Salkantay Trek with Roger as a guide! The communication for the Reservation via WhatsApp was really helpful and easy. The while service from Picking Up to Machu picchu was perfect. We were a small group and spend 4 days together. There was an amazing chef with us the whole time Werbung the best food i had in Peru so far as a vegetarian. I would definitly do again :)Written September 15, 2024
- P5265ADroyh0 contributionsSalkantay 4 daysWonderful views. Roger was a very social and nice guide. He did everything to make it comfortabel for the whole group. The food was the best I had in Peru. Alejandro would make Gordon Ramsay proudWritten September 15, 2024
- Curious158699686700 contributions4 day inca trailThe whole experience was truly great! Our guides Vicente and Sergio were both knowledgable, fun and made us feel we were in safe hands the entire trip. The hike its self was a challenge but so rewarding and the Inca sites along the way were stunning. The food was a real surprise and a true taster of Peruvian dishes. Our chef did not miss a beat, and the team of porters made the whole trip that much more comfortable and were always so happy to help you out where they could. It’s not often I go on a tour/trip that I really couldn’t find fault with, but this was exactly that! Well done treXperience, professional and organised from the get go with a great team, would HIGHLY recommended this company if you are looking to hike the Inca trail.Written September 14, 2024

- WendyCB220 contributionsHighly recommendTrexperience are an extremely well organised outfit & we were pleased we chose them for our Inca Trail hike. Our guide Filio was knowledgeable & gave us additional time at Machu Picchu so we really felt we’d seen & taken in everything. Filio is very passionate about his subject & we learnt so much from him although on occasions we struggled a little to understand what he was saying. The hotel we stayed in Aguas Calientes was convenient & comfortable. I would definitely recommend anyone thinking of undertaking Machu Picchu to book with Trexperience.Written September 13, 2024
- 288rameshd0 contributionsGuide makes your memoriesOur five-day Salkantay hike was incredible, thanks to Rosmel and Reynaldo's exceptional guidance. They ensured our journey was both safe and memorable, with the highlight being Machu Picchu. Their knowledge of the route and care throughout, especially at the 15,200-foot Salkantay Pass, was truly impressive. The food, especially the Pachamanca, was delicious and kept us energized throughout the 45-mile trek. A standout moment was when Reynaldo and Rosmel brought soup to our tents on a freezing day at 13,800 feet, showing their dedication to our comfort. While the experience was fantastic, shortening the second day's 13-mile walk to 9 miles and replacing the 7-mile walk along the train tracks with a train ride could improve the trek. Despite this, Rosmel and Reynaldo created lasting memories and a great group experience.Written September 13, 2024

- Jo C0 contributionsTrekking with historyI never thought that this trip would be so enriching. Amazing trekking, hard but very enjoyable. And the history behind it made me feel so small. Incas technology was incredible! As a solo traveler I felt taken care by the guides and companions during the entire tour, I really appreciate that I thank Jose Luis (Pepe) and Gilbert for the valuable information they gave us and the goodwill Thank you so much!!!Written September 13, 2024
- Yoke Wen L0 contributions4D3N Inca Trail with Jhony and EliasI had the most wonderful time trekking with Jhony, Elias and their entire support crew from TreXperience. It was my first time returning to a multi-day trek since the pandemic. Other than feeling nervous, my body was clearly not ready for a trek after such a long time. But Jhony and Elias made sure that I felt easeful and joyful towards this trek by reassuring that this trek is not a race but a journey to learn and feel, the values and spirit of the Inca and Quechua people. A journey to be taken at our own pace. Jhony makes it so easy for his guests to feel reassured, and Elias's sincerity is felt deeply throughout the 4 days. Both of them are so patient and kind. I truly feel so taken care of, even though the trek was tiring for me physically and mentally. Emotionally, I felt so rich listening to the stories of the Incas and the Quechuas by Jhony and Elias. Their pride of their lineage and their embodiment of their lineage through their daily actions is what made this trek special and different from the rest. Jhony is a guide who has strong leadership skills, as I witnessed him leading the entire crew of chefs, cooks, and porters. He is always respectful of them and motivating whenever they needed some cheerleading too. The food that tumbled out of the kitchen was superb every day and the whole crew felt like family. Thank you so much, Jhony, Elias and the rest of the TreXperience team!Written September 12, 2024
- Samantha V0 contributionsExcellent and well organised tourAbelardo and Fernando were excellent, Abelardo English was exceptional. He was well organised, fun, friendly, a true leader with great knowledge who lead our team well. The Porters and chefs were also excellent. I can’t recommend this tour enough especially with these two guides. The food was exceptional too. Thanks so much for the great memories.Written September 12, 2024

Our guide, José.A, was a great support, always there when we needed help or had questions, and he always cared about our well-being. Absolutely amazing experience - more than a backpacking trip. Filio and his team of Jorge, Andre, & Jilver were phenomenal from the level to the attentiveness & care around the trail they showed to the jokes and laughs. Can’t recommend this team enough.
Trail itself is a great test of physically and mental will over a few days. Great time to disconnect and reflect while also enjoying some killer views and a 10/10 culutural immersion.

Operator advertises "hot shower" which does not exist. We paid a premium for their service because of this.
Pace was exhausting getting up super early and then finishing at 2pm just so the crew could get their day done. We could have taken a more relaxed pace to actually enjoy.
The tipping is awful. The staff must be underpaid because tipping "envelope" was talked about daily. We were presented with multiple envelopes to fill with cash. A "recommended amount" of 6000 Sol (USD 1500) was provided which is equivalent to 75% of the total cost of the tour. We found this obscene along with the "envelope ceremony" we were pressured to participate in.
The guide was not the best, but we went at an off peak time so maybe not the A team.

Dear Jozsef T,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, your feedback is very important for us as it's an opportunity to improve our weak points.
I took some time to see your case, also, we have sent an email to see the problems you had on the trail and we haven't got a reply.
We are really sorry that you were not satisfied with our service, we always try our best to provide an excellent service, but sometimes you can not be perfect for all travelers.
Please if you can give us more information by email, we will really appreciate it:
Below are some answers:
HOT SHOWERS:
We always provide portable solar showers, these bags, you just need to fill up with water, put in the sun for about 1 hour and it's ready for a nice warm shower. Of course, this is camping and we don't have proper toilets, we don't have proper showers.
We are the only company in the Inca Trail that provides portable solar showers, also we sent portable private toilets to every group.
I have contacted the tour guide and asked what happened, he replied that most afternoons were raining, also you haven't requested to set it up.
We apologize for not explaining this at the time of the briefing to request if you wanted showers, we will make sure this is explained in all our tours.
WALKING DISTANCE:
Campsites are assigned by the goverment, the number of hours, distance is basically estándar for all tour operators and the location of campsites are fixed. They are carefully chosen by experts working in the Inca Trail for years.
Our porters, tour guides work also many years on this trail. Some days, you might arrive early at the campsite, other groups might arrive even in the dark. It's really difficult to know exactly how long will take for the group to arrive, depending on your condition, weather, speed. Our porters, lunchtime is always according to your speed, this means, the group will move at your speed.
TIPPING:
Tipping is always an awkward situation to talk about. We always sent tipping guidelines that could be from 5%, 10%, up to 15% to tip the tour guides if you are very pleased with your tour guide.
Also, we have sent you prior the tour guidelines to tip the team of porters and chefs, the amount sent does not exceed the 120$ total for the whole crew.
If a tour guide suggests that amount of cash (1500$), then, something is really wrong. Please if you can send an email explaining a bit more about this case would be more helpful for us.
Even more, we suggest to all our Inca trail hikers always not to take large amounts of cash to the trek. we recommend taking around 400 soles (100.USD) per person as emergency money total including money for tips.
PAYMENT TO PORTERS, CHEFS, TOUR GUIDES
Tipping in Peru is not mandatory. Our staff has a proper salary, and we can assure you that our Inca trail staff is among the best paid, we provide them good working conditions, full equipment, insurance, and place to stay in Cusco and Ollantaytambo.
Again, we are really sorry that we couldn't meet your expectations, we will investigate more about the tipping situation in your group.
Hope you are still traveling in Peru, we wish you the best in everything you do.
Best regards
Carlos Coronel

This review is for the 5D/4N Choquequirao trek.
Many positives about this experience. The chefs Alejandro and Beto were real stars. We were astonished by their work ethic and at what they were able to prepare in spartan conditions. The guide Filio varied the plan according to our ability, which was appreciated. General organisation was good.
The trek is hard work and almost entirely consists of steep uphills and downhills.
However, for us (two early 30s males in decent physical condition), we ultimately felt like that we could have done this self-guided at a fraction of the cost, with very little loss.
The route is very clear and there are good facilities on the way offering cheap accommodation (not just camping) and food.
I would advise anyone looking at this trek to really consider whether a guided experience is right for you.
Sadly our overall conclusion was that it was not right for us and that we had overpaid for the experience ($690 per person at time of writing, before equipment hire and tips).

The company is wonderful! Our luggage was lost and we were unable to meet the trek at its beginning- but the company’s personnel stayed in contact and the moment I had my gear to go on the trek they arranged for me and my group to meet up with our guide partway through the trek. The food was amazing, the Guide JJ was knowledgeable, personable, and informative.
They took what could’ve been a missed experience and brought us right up to speed and all the way through to see (and photograph) the amazing sites at Machu Picchu!

I highly recommend Trexperience. I went on the Karis Trek 4 years ago and the experience was great then, and standards have remained high. The whole process from initial contact, booking, payment and ongoing communication is excellent. Once on the trek all logistics are excellent from initial briefing, hotel pickup, baggage storage and equipment rental if needed. The guides, cooks, and support staff know their jobs well, making for a superb experience. Our guide Roger Calsin is friendly, knowledgeable and can handle needs on the fly as when one of our party needed to hire a horse due to health problems. I will go on future treks with this company.

We had a great guide, Filio, who took good care of us, asked the spirits of the mountains for blessings which reflected in a superb trip in all respect ; weather, food and our health throughout and until the end. Special note on the food which was an experience in itself ! Very challenging route, steep and coarse tracks but the cook deserves a special note, Balbino did magic. Highly recommended.

Thank you for choosing TreXperience! We're thrilled to hear that Filio provided excellent care and started your journey with a meaningful blessing from the mountain spirits, which led to a superb trip in every respect—weather, food, and health. The challenging route with steep and coarse tracks can be tough, but we're glad Balbino's magical cooking made the experience even more special. Your high recommendation means a lot to us!

The trip was amazing! We where so lucky with weather and staff. Our tour guide filio started with a coca ceremony asking the “apus” (mountain gods) to take care of us and they sure did!
No doubt It is a challenging trip but our chef and helper filled our souls with fresh and local food that took us directly to our next campsite. What a beautiful experience.

The trek was well organized and planned. Everything was as explained except we were pleasantly surprised to find better amenities than expected AND cold beer at every site! Our guide, Roger, was excellent and provided us with expert knowledge and pleasant company. The rest of the crew and chefs were also very friendly and the food was surprisingly good. Although parts of the trek were grueling, they always made it enjoyable.

In summer we were going on the Choquequirao trip where Elisban was our guide. During the four day trip he not only guided us very well but also explained the different sites precisely and answered all of our questions accurate. The hole trip was an amazing experience and we can only recommend the hole team.
