          Great experience
This tour was perfect. The guide explained us everything about the rainbow mountains and answered all of our questions. The breakfast and the lunch were all you can eat buffet, so it was perfect for everyone. There were horses for the hike if you didn’t want to walk, so it was a nice alternative. The guide walked with us and always stayed behind us to be sure that he was the last one. We recommend this activity for sure.

          TOUR OF A LIFETIME!!
The tour guides Anibal and Alfredo and the driver Abel were amazing, very helpful, very Kind and extremely prepared! They pick you up where you are staying, they explain everything to you. The van is clean and comfortable! Food stops are very good! I personally started feeling the altitude once we reached the top part of the rainbow mountains and Anibal helped me navigate the altitude in such a way that I was able to enjoy everything! Also, this tour starts a little later than the others, which is exactly what we were looking for.

A perfect way to spend a day!
Such a brilliantly organised tour. Bus arrived right on time. Lunch and breakfast included. The views were absolutely spectacular, but what made the tour so memorable was our incredible guide, Anibel! He was so funny, loved to chat and kept us motivated to keep going even if we were struggling towards the top! He made the day so much fun and made the experience. By the end of the day, he felt like a friend. Special mention as well to our very talented and patient driver Abel, who kept us safe during some nail biting bends driving around a mountain!

          Great time
Carlos was a great guide and very informative the whole trip. He makes sure everyone stays safe during the hike to the rainbow mountains. Insure to stay hydrated and take your time.

          Best time ever!
Annibal and the driver was a great experience. They take care of you and value your time and money. I felt very safe regarding the fact that altitude was challenging there but Annibal was waiting for me and also motivating me. Also very punctual which is very important as you wake really early up. Best experience ever! Thank you guys!

          Wonderful experience..terrible guide!
Our tour was with Happy Gringo Tours out of Cusco. Our guide seemed disinterested unless you spoke Spanish. The tour was supposed to begin with pickup at 4:30am and include breakfast, but actually started at 8:30 and once in the minibus we were told that there's no breakfast. ( so I hope that you ate something) After a long drive without any explanation of the area or history, we arrived at the quad base to drive up the mountain. Our guide led the way up to the landing. We were the last group of the day so there were no vendors or alpacas to have photos with. My husband and I were having difficulty with the altitude and unsteady on our feet so the guide went up to the highest peak with the group and left us to work our way to the lower vantage point. He seemed to be quite rushed. When we had spent a short time viewing the mountain, we headed back to the quads. On the way down, I wanted to stop to take some photos but was not allowed ( though others were. ) Long story short: Rainbow Mountain is breathtaking...just don't go with Happy Gringo!

          Absolutely worth it!
Visiting Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) was absolutely worth it. It is quite a long day, starting at 4:30 a.m. and returning to Cusco around 5:30 p.m., but the day is planned out quite well. The breakfast halfway to the destination was wonderful and filling. The trek up the mountain requires skill and perseverance. One thing I learned about the hike up the mountain - it is worth swallowing one's pride and just taking the horse to trek up the mountain. I am in adequate shape (not great, though), and I had trouble hiking up the mountain. And after the trek was over, the buffet lunch was quite filling. The tour guide was wonderful - providing a great overview and directions and guiding all group members through the trek.

Do not assume you will visit Rainbow mountain with this group. Beware!!!!!
Do not rely on this company if you are on limited time in your vacation schedule. The company CANCELED our trip within one day prior with no explanation given or email indicating the cancellation. As a result it was too late to find another group to take us. The Viator team was helpful for the refund but really????? Cancelling within a day? I had a no cancellation policy with them so we could not make alternate arrangements in advance. The only way I knew about it was it disappeared from the app and went to the cancelled page without anyone informing me of the change. My email is current but I received no message in advance. We had to call from Peru to find out what happened and no one could address this from Viator. This group should be removed from Trip Advisor website and Viator, they are not a responsible company to deal with. There policy is unfair given the end result. I will be very careful using this trip advisor and Viator sight in the future due to the negative experience in this case.

          Lovely Excursion and Lovely Sights!
The rainbow mountain is astounding. Our tour guy Anibal is very experienced, kind and funny! He made our trip fun and easier. To adjust the high altitude, he suggested us to take to the motorcycle up and hiking down, which is totally a right and wise decision for us. Hiking trail itself doesn’t have much to see until you reach to the top.

Great trip and great guide (Anibal)!
Anibal was an excellent tour guide and my friend and I had a wonderful time! It’s a long drive there and back - four hours each way but the views on the bus were spectacular and Anibal was funny and engaging throughout the whole trip. We were also very impressed with the driver who skillfully navigated curvy mountain roads on a cliff (backing up included). Rainbow Mountain itself is incredible and well worth the trip, one of the best hikes I’ve ever done. It was tough, we hadn’t been in Cusco long and weren’t adjusted well to the altitude but Anibal had our group take frequent breaks and was kind and encouraging the whole way. Eventually our whole group made it up to the top and we got some incredible pictures (Anibal knew all the spots for pictures and helped us take several). Highly recommend Rainbow Mountain Tour Company for a trip to Rainbow Mountain and Anibal as a guide.

          Totally worth it
This was one of the most incredible experiences we have ever done. Carlos our guide met us at our hotel and the knowledge he had about the festival happening in Plaza De Armas (Corpus Christi Festival) and the surrounding towns and what they specialize in was incredible. Once we got near the mountain, Carlos was very thorough about the various areas of agriculture that grew in that area especially at that altitude. Once we got to the parking lot, my wife and I decided to take motorbikes to the top due to the amount of hikes we still had to do. They have a decent hike for those who want the challenge and horses available for those who want a more authentic feel. Once at the top, the views were stunning. Glaciers and the red valley in the distance and the rainbow mountain right in front of you. We did the hike down which was a great experience. The ride is around 4 hours with a break for breakfast on the way there and lunch on the way back at the 2 hour mark. Overall, i was very nervous for this experience but if you properly adjust to the altitude either doing this at the end of your trip or have diamox, you should really book this experience.

Amazing experience with a great tour guide (Maria)
Incredible tour! Our guide (Maria) was incredibly knowledgeable and had an amazing level of English which meant we learnt so much during our tour and had a fantastic day. She arrived early and met us in our hotel lobby which made the whole experience smooth and easy for us! Couldn’t recommend this company for the tour enough.

          Long Drive, Beautiful View
Our guide was knowledgeable, we stopped for breakfast and dinner and there was food for everyone and it was delicious. We didn’t think the hike was too tough, but if you’re from sea level pace yourself and stop if you’re not feeling well. Someone on the trail had fainted off of a horse from altitude sickness, thankfully not in our group. While our whole group hiked, there are options to take horses or motorcycles and the cost is not included. Remember to bring cash, the locals charge between 2-3 soles to use the restroom, 4 or 5 for the one bathroom near the top of the hike. And bring hand sanitizer! Please note there is a long drive from Cusco to the mountain, with the shortcut road closed it took us about 3 hours each way with some rough roads.

          unforgettable experience...
The excursion was expertly organized and planned, and the guides' expertise of the local flora and animals, in addition to the lagoons, was astounding. Their love for the area was clear, and their ability to communicate it in English added to the unforgettable experience.

          Great experience! 🌈
I had a great time with my guide Anibal today. He’s a very warm and friendly person, welcoming, and most of all encouraging during a difficult walk due to the high altitude. I had already acclimatized over the last 8 days in Cuzco area/4 day Inca trail so it wasn’t that bad for me but I still needed to take frequent breaks and Anibal was very patient. He took 1000 photos of me as I was by myself and made sure everything went smoothly and safely. Tour ran on time/ahead of schedule, which allowed me to spend more time in Cusco in the afternoon. I recommend this company.
