About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- h_varda2420 contributionsGreat trip with great guide, recommended! ⛰️Wonderful trip, beautiful nature. The trek is at times challenging, even for experience mountain goers. The elevation effected us differently (we were 7 persons from Australia, Austria and Norway, age group around 25 - 35). The first day was for me the hardest (maybe because of the elevation). Remember to pack for different climates (from sub-zero temperatures at night in the mountains, to hot climate in the jungle). And bring mosquito repellent. Cudos to our guide, Jhimmy; he's the best. Very attentive to everyone's needs, gave us a lot of interesting insight into the history and culture of Peru and the Inka culture, and is generally a very warm and funny guy. Made sure we kept together during the trek, and gave lots of good hiking tips. Also a big thanks to the cook, Jesus, who made really tasty local multi-course meals for us, with minimal equipment. And of course, thanks to everyone else who was involved in helping, like the horsemen and so on. Highly recommend!Written October 7, 2024
- Jens G0 contributionsGreat guide and an even better cook! Was a really great experience traveling with this tour company. Jimmy, was a super pleasant, knowledgable and passionate guide, and Jesus was if possible an even better cook. The meals were really a highlight of the trek. We had to wake up early every day and the tour is probably on the more expensive side, but if these things are alright with you I hoghly recommend this travel agency for the salkantay trail trek.Written October 2, 2024
- Terje Aasmoe G0 contributionsGreat little adventure!Me and two friends did this tour together, and I have nothing but good things to say. Jhimmy, the main guy is a really funny, easy, and honest guy. I have learned more about Peru and the Inkas from him than I ever imagined. Also. The food, made buy the chef Jesus, is amazing. Thank you Jesus! The accomodation is really good, but bring earplugs (there is a lot of roosters who like to make noize from 3 am im camp 3 and 4. this obviously applies to all tours, not only this one). The nature is fantastic. Also, with this tour, the first camp is quite a lot higher than many other tours. This makes the hiking the second day much easier. And first camp is much less crowded. In other words. Will definitely reccomend this tour!Written September 30, 2024
- 331juanandr_sm0 contributionsSuper fun, interesting and great meals! We had Jhon as our tour guide and we had an amazing tour. He knew everything about Inca culture and the local flora and fauna (we tasted around 5 different types of fruits as we hiked). The meals were great, and always included a starter, a main dish and dessert. Breakfasts were also very good and provided the fuel needed for all the activities one does throughout the days. Rafting and Zip lines were awesome too. We felt super safe, the guides were very experienced. Would definitely recommend taking this tour with Jhon!Written September 18, 2024
- Sightsee603158717720 contributionsSo much more than we thought! It was an amazing experience from start to finish! We were lucky enough to have Jhony as our own private guide who made our trip very memorable! He’s very knowledgeable and shared so much about the history, his culture and stories of his trips. Getting to know him was a pleasure and a highlight for us. The activities are fun, the food is fresh and delicious, the trail is breathtaking and the people are so happy, friendly and genially want you to enjoy their culture and have a great time! We’ve always wanted to experience the Inca Trail and see Machu Picchu and if we had just done it our self we would have missed out all the little towns, the food and the people! If you want to switch off from the outside world and reset while being active - we’d 100% recommend. Trip of a lifetime.Written September 12, 2024
- Wander457331335440 contributionsBest tour I’ve ever had! I cannot recommend it enoughEduardo and Conde travel made my 4 day jungle hike an excellent experience. I planned to do this trip as I wanted to do more activities than just walking on the way to Machu Picchu. On day one I found out it would just be a private tour as no one else was booked on the same day as me with Conde. I thought this was good as it meant we could walk at my pace but bad because it’s good to socialise with other guests. Fortunately for me the activities were combined with other tours/groups so I ended up doing each of the activities with a different group. The cycling was one of the funnest things I’ve ever done starting over 4000m down the 1500m and it definitely gets warmer heading into the jungle. Then the ecohostal on night one was amazing and one thing I have to say with Conde travel was that the food in all of the places is fantastic. The accommodation is also very good. This is what for me differentiates Conde from the other tours as you spend somewhere between £50-100 more than other tours for the 4 days but you stay in hotels instead of hostels and every meal is 3 courses with too much food rather than not enough. The white water rafting was fun and you get an opportunity to cliff dive from around 4m which is not compulsory but i found it enjoyable and added to the experience of the day. The next day we walked through the jungle and be prepared TAKE REPELLENT. The mosquitoes are not fun. The hot springs are enjoyable but when I went there was only one of the several pools open so it was a bit busier than I’d expected. Again the food was fantastic in Santa teresa for dinner and breakfast. I enjoyed some socialising with other groups after hours as you get approx 7:30pm onwards to enjoy yourself or with others every night. The next day was the zip lining which was very fun and a great experience. Then the walk to Machu Picchu pueblo - Aguascalientes. The town is a bit more expensive and touristy as you’d expect. Onto Machu Picchu and it was amazing Conde travel had got me the earliest time possible 6am and by paying the extra for the bus up I was basically the first person into the park and this is where Eduardo shone. He had explained lots on the journey to Machu Picchu but his knowledge and happiness to answer all the questions I had was fantastic. I enjoyed all the moments at Machu Picchu. I had paid extra for huanyu picchu and for me it was worth it. This gave me an extra ticket to Machu Picchu as well so it allowed me to leave go to the toilet and have some food before going back into the park using a different route so I could see more and then to climb huanyu picchu. After this Eduardo also let me know I could use a shower for 10 soles in the hotel we had been in that night which allowed me to feel much fresher for the train and bus back to Cusco. In short 5* out of 5 I’m not sure there’s much that could have been improved with this tour and it’s been the highlight of my trip. Thanks againWritten September 9, 2024
- 766warrend0 contributionsThe Conde travel Choquequirao 4 day trek. After an interesting start with 3 name changes of guide, and a change from tents to refugios, it was a great trip. Abel our guide was great, and a shout out to Flor Grande, who did a great job behind the scenes. The track and Chocquequirao were excellent and well worth the hard trecking. Could be a 5 day trip, taking some of the pressure off the ascents which were tough.Written September 6, 2024

He knew his history n information about all our surroundings, even all the top secret knowledge!! Could not recommend Noé more!!Written August 11, 2024
- ivyg3670 contributionsGreat Trip! A bit rushed at the end!90% of the trip was absolutely incredible! The rafting was an unexpected highlight, the biking was beautiful, and hiking was as well. The zip lining was fun, but most of the activity involved standing in line. My biggest complaint would be on the last day, the tour company booked me and my boyfriends Machu Picchu hike ticket and our train ticket way to close together. We recognized this as soon as we reviewed our ticket times, and we brought up the concern immediately. The tour company assured us that it would be fine, we would make it! And while we didn’t make our train time, we were not able to complete our hike, and we had to rush with all of our gear to do so. I wish the tour company would’ve been more realistic with the timelines they set us. For that reason I had to knock off a star. The food and accommodations were amazing. It was such a nice experience where everyday had some amazing variety. The food was a little repetitive in its offerings, but everything tasted great! You will be tired, stinky and it will be a lot of adventure in a short amount of time, but it was totally worth it! I highly recommend! Just so you are aware, you are carrying your own bags for the 1.5 days of hiking! No sherpas here so pack light!Written August 4, 2024
- LoveTravel5856980 contributionsA must do!!!!Amazing trip! Words can’t describe how wonderful this was. The food and service was excellent, they had plenty of people caring for us. Our guide Jose was terrific, he was very knowledgeable on the Camino and the culture. Most of all he was so excited to share his culture with us. He truly loved his job. It was very rewarding to learn about Peru and the Incas with such wonderful team.Written July 11, 2024
- 682sierraf0 contributionsBest guide and small groups hiking the Inca Trail with Conde TravelHiking the Inca Trail with Conde Travel and our tour guide Jose was a wonderful experience. We had a much smaller group of three couples compared to most other companies on the trail, which allowed us to set our own pace and felt more like a private tour. Jose was such a supportive and friendly guide, our entire group loved hiking and learning with him. We miss him already! The views are incredible, but the people made the experience so much better. The porters and chef were fantastic and all the food was delicious. They even managed to find the ingredients to make a cake after finding out my birthday was at the end of the hike while already two days into the trail. Highly recommend Conde Travel for a more personalized experience hiking the Inca Trail!Written July 8, 2024
- O4546LOdavidm0 contributionsGreat trip!I highly recommend that you select conde travel if you choose to hike the Incan trail. They prioritize smaller groups which made the group bond a lot more and it was easier for everyone for hike at their own pace. Some other companies have over 15 people, which seems cumbersome and less intimate. Jose was a great guide. He was knowledgeable about the history, the trail, and managed a fun trek. The porter team was also top notch. The food was great and copious. Honestly, I don’t have any negative things to say.Written July 8, 2024
- 387kennc0 contributionsJose Antonio and team BEST tour guideI’m a beginner hiker and new to this kind of activity so I didn’t know what to expect, on our arrival Jose was extremely open, helpful, and informative. He covered every imaginable corner you could and will face on the activity and gave us tips needed to fully enjoy every second of it. During the hike with amazing views he would set times for us to take our instagram worthy photos and would even be our cameraman and would make sure we liked the photos. He even organized a birthday cake surprise for one of our friends on the hike whose birthday landed on the last day. If your looking to checkout any kind of activity in Peru like Machu Picchu or rainbow mountain and anything around it I recommend asking for Jose to truly enjoy everything you paid for!Written July 7, 2024
- Departure002538234650 contributionsBest guide in PeruHad an excellent time. Really well organised trip, the activities en route were very enjoyable and the accommodation was all very good. Highlight was definitely our tour guide “big daddy”, he was great fun and very helpful. If you can book with him definitely would recommend. We did the jungle trail Machu pichu, and would highly reccomend.Written June 27, 2024

We did the 4D/3N Inca Jungle Trek at the end of our trip through Peru & Bolivia.
It was so much fun! Our tour guide, Jimmy, was absolutely amazing: he is everything you want your guide to be. He knows a lot, is always smiling and in for a joke, and above all he is very passionate about his job, his heritage and his culture. Also at Machu Picchu Jimmy gave us a nice tour and explanation about the wonderful site.
This tour has a nice mix of diverse activities: biking, rafting, hiking, zip-line,... It has exact the right amount of intensity. On the hiking day, there are enough stops to get to know more about the Inca culture, the wide range of plants and fruits, you can roast your own coffee with local people and taste some local produce. It is so much fun! The food we got on the trip was very good and extensive. The accomodation is basic (what you know before hand) but definitely OK and better than we had expected!
I would highly recommend booking this tour and wish you have the same magical experience as I had!

Our guide was knowledgeable and kind. Unfortunately that was the only good part of our experience.
There was absolutely no communication from the company prior to our trip. They made errors in booking the train tickets on the way back to Cusco. They had told us we would arrive early evening, but then they booked us arriving at 1130pm even though all the other people in our group had been booked on an earlier train. We'd booked our trip several months before these people! And the company tried to blame us! They finally agreed to pay for the change in ticket, but because it was too late to do online, and the guide didn't have the required cash, they told us they would reimburse us via paypal. We requested several times and attempted to call and email, but no response and we're now out the money. So dishonest. It's quite a shame because the guide was nice.

It was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide Rodrigo was very fun and extremely caring to everyone in our group. There were some unfortunate things happened to someone in our group like stomachache, sprained ankle etc. but none of that ruined the trip, thanks to our guide taking care of us. A good tour guide really makes a tremendous difference.

After some significant research I booked the Jungle Trek through Conde Travel. This was the ideal as I was traveling with my wife and daughter. The entire trip was superb and we were greeted and briefed by our tour guide, Henry, the evening before our departure at our hotel.
First day was a thrilling and tiring adventure as we traveled by van high into the Andes and began our downhill bicycle adventure followed by our river run.
Second day was a trek along the Inca trail followed by some time at the hot springs near Santa Teresa. Henry and Lenny were excellent advisers and fun leaders during this day. We enjoyed their insights along the Inca Trail
Third day was zipline...an activity more fun than we thought. After lunch and nap, our group arrived in Aguas Calienta that evening.
Final day was the crown jewel, Maachu Picchu. Again, the communication, service, and information provided by Conde (particularly through our two guides) was excellent.
Overall I would recommend this tour to most anyone looking for a fun and diverse trek during their trip to Cusco and Maachu Picchu. If you're looking to do something besides a 4-5 day traditional Inca Trek, this is probably one of your best options. Take a good pack (our carry-on luggage was not ideal). Also, find the best bug spray money can buy... purchase double the amount you need... and pack it with your essentials.
You'll have a great time... enjoy wonderful Peru. Thanks again Henry and Lenny!

We booked the Inca Jungle Trek with Conde travel somewhat hesitantly with the mixed reviews on Google compared with trip advisor. We had some troubles with our booking before departing with the Conde travel office - so be careful with your booking, be firm and get everything in writing before committing a deposit.
Once we began our tour it was fantastic. Jhimmy was our tour guide and he is very experienced and genuinely enjoys his job and is passionate about sharing his local knowledge with tourists. We paid slightly extra for a small group tour that was English only and we ended up being the only people on the tour.
The accommodation was basic but comfortable, we were always given a private room with our own private bathroom. You'll have a cold shower for the first night but the weather is warm so it's not an issue. Jhimmy was always working hard to ensure the meals were ready on time for us and adding lots of small things into the tour for us that made it such an enjoyable experience. The food was much better than we expected with a good variety.
Having visited several Inca sites whilst acclimatising at Cusco we found Machu Picchu a little underwhelming and overcrowded. You really need to get the 6am tickets and get an early bus to get the most of your visit. This made us even more satisfied to have chosen the Inca Jungle trail instead of the train to get to Machu Picchu - for us the trek was the highlight of our time at Cusco.

I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to see the untamed side of Peru! During the tour you get to see stunning mountain scapes (on foot and by bike), quaint communities and of course the fabled Machu Picchu. Our tour guide, Jonathan, helped to make the experience exceptional. He went above and beyond with any questions or concerns we had and was very organized during the trek.
A word of caution though: the hostel we stayed at for the final night before Machu Picchu was beside a couple local bars. We happened to be staying in this hostel on a Friday night, and the locals were doing what they do. To make sunrise by foot at Machu Picchu, we woke up at 3:30 am to make the line to the first check point. You may want to coordinate with the tour company to get a private room if you are in Aguascalientes on a Friday/ Saturday night.

My boyfriend and I did the 4 day jungle trek to Machu Picchu and it did not disappoint! Huang Zhu (hopefully that’s the right spelling) our guide was a legend!! He spoke amazing English, was always super friendly, knowledgeable and considerate along the whole trip. We loved that we got the opportunity to do different activities along the way, biking and zip lining were a standout! The trek itself isn’t too hard, mostly flat or downhill with a couple of small hills...the only decent hill is if you decide to climb up to Machu Picchu (totally optional). We got to Machu Picchu in the first wave of people...it essential you get there first otherwise it’s just flooded with people, the 4am wake up is worth it!! Machu Picchu itself is insane, it’s hands down the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen! The only disappointing part of the trip was that the return train ticket booked for us was at 7pm meaning we got back to Cusco at 11pm...it made for a very long day! If this happens I would recommend hitting up the Thermal Baths tucked up the back of town...not only did it kill time but they were very nice for sore legs and they have a pool side bar service!

I had a amazing time and enjoyed every second of my tour. I was traveling alone and the others were all from the same country so worried I would feel kinda like an outcast of the group. Jose did a great job of making sure we all had a wonderful time and really did feel like a family as we were traveling together. Jose was so knowledgeable about the history and culture and could tell he loved teaching about everything. I enjoyed all the meals and the accommodations were wonderful. Thanks for giving me a wonderful vacation I'll never forget.

This is a wonderful tour, and I was lucky to have an outstanding guide named Walter for four days! My only issue with the tour was that the night before, someone came to my hotel to brief me on the itinerary. What this man told me was not at all what the itinerary ended up being. I was very confused each day, as the info the man the first night told me wasn't accurate. Also, I wasn't told until the morning of the tour that I couldn't bring my luggage, and had to fit everything in a small backpack. The tour group did offer a nice touch by delivering my luggage I had to leave behind to my hostel the last day of the tour. The tour itself is incredible, yet tiring! It's definitely best for people who are in good shape! One day we hiked 10 miles total- half of which was uphill. We also went over some scary bridges, so definitely be ready for anything on this tour. I had a wonderful time, and Walter was amazing!

Thanks a lot Bradley for your comment. We are so glad that you have had an amazing experience with us. Sorry for the inconveniences about the briefing at your hotel.
Hope you've enjoyed Peru at maximum!

Hola, estamos interesados en este tour, sin embargo no nos queda muy claro si en esa caminata por el camino inca es posible apreciar otras ruinas incas más allá de toda la flora y fauna que indican. Un saludo!

How many people are usually in a group? Can we hike instead of doing the white river rafting?
