It was an amazing tour! Isaac and Johan are the best guide ever! It is just not a tour it is a full experience. They are very professional, always take care of us. The best part they are native Peruvian and talk Spanish and Quechua perfectly.

Such an incredible experience with Paul and Bruce!
This trip was absolutely incredible thanks to our amazing guide and co-guide Paul and Bruce, as well as the porters, cooks and everyone else involved. Our group had a mix of some more experienced hikers as well as some novices and thanks to Paul and Bruce everyone was comfortable and well-taken care of both throughout the day and at the campsites as night. We had so much fun and had so many laughs, the food was incredible, the accommodations were great and we were grateful for the portable bathroom (especially at some of the later campsites!). We're so thankful to everyone for making it such an incredible experience from start to finish!

        Great trip, great guide!
Was an unforgettable trip, made so by our guide Ronald! He is genuinely passionate about his culture and sharing it with everyone! When energy levels were low, he was supportive and motivating. He went above and beyond in every way he could! Anything that Prof Ronald doesn’t know about the Incas, isn’t worth knowing! He had an answer for everything and gave amazingly detailed historical explanations! Trip was very well planned and plans were articulated very clearly… couldn’t think of a better way to do the Inka Trail! I feel like everyone who didn’t have Prof Ronald doing their tour was completely missing out! All hail Inca King Ronald!

The most amazing 4 days on the Inca Trail with our lovely guide Ali. The food was incredible - so much and such a variety! All of the porters were so friendly and worked so hard to ensure we had the best time.

An incredible adventure with Paul and Bruce
This was a trip my friends and I will never forget. I’m so glad we didn’t take the train. Our guides were the highlight of the trip. Paul’s deep knowledge of seemingly everything added to the beauty of our surroundings. He showed us unbelievable ruins and told us fascinating histories. I’m not an experienced hiker, but Bruce made sure I always found my pace. Both were kind, upbeat, and encouraging. I can’t thank them enough for this incredible experience.

        Incredible experience, very well organized!
My wife and I did the 7 day Cusco and Machu Picchu tour with Rainbow Mountain. We had an amazing experience, everything was seamlessly planned and everyone had excellent communication from the planning stages onward. Special thanks to our incredible tour guide Jonathan who worked hard everyday to make this an unforgettable experience. His knowledge and passion for Peru and Incan culture was evident everyday. He is a true seasoned expert. We also wanted to give huge thanks to our awesome driver Beltran!

        Best Guide in Cusco
Ali had all the makings of a great guide. He was personable; he adapted to our needs; and, he knew his stuff. He was one of the most knowledgeable guides I’ve ever had. He was above and beyond better than other 3 guides we’ve had this trip. He is worth every penny. I would hire Ali again without hesitation. 5/5

        Fantastic experience with Inkayni!
What an incredible four days. My wife and I did a 4-day private trek of the classic Inca trail to Machu Picchu. We were lucky to have Herlin as our guide. He’s incredibly knowledgeable of the flora, fauna, history, and culture of the region, and is keen to share it all. He’s so encouraging, positive, and patient, and he helped to make a spiritual connection with the land of his ancestors. The food surpassed expectations. By no means were we expecting a three course meal for lunch and dinner, tea delivered to your tent at 5:30am, and tea time snacks in the afternoon. We were lucky to have Mario as a chef - every meal was fantastic, and he catered to every request. A special shout out to our “Chuskis” (porters): Selso, Persi, Santos, David, and Richard. They do back breaking work, and do it all with a big smile. Without them, the trip doesn’t happen. Don’t forget to bring tip money for each of them before you trek begins. Leading up to the trip, the office was quick to respond to any questions and they were super informative. One suggestion I would make for any future trekkers would be to stay in Aguas Calientes for the night when the trek is over. The last day is long, and you don’t get back to Cusco until 7pm or so. Also keep in mind that if you choose to go up Huayna Picchu, you will have less time to explore Machu Picchu. I would book again 100% with Inkayni, and would recommend to anyone looking to experience the Inca Trail the best way that you can!

Epic Inca Trail (4D/3N). Amazing guide & chef. Pricey, prep well. Arrive 2 days early in Cusco. Not for the unfit.
¡No te arrepentirás! 5. --- English ### Route and Scenery The Inca Trail is simply spectacular. The mountain landscapes are indescribable and exceed any expectation. If you are a nature lover, you will love it. Personally, I have traveled to many mountainous places, but this is one of the best I've seen. ### Trekking Options There are several options for the trek: 4 days and 3 nights, 3 days and 2 nights, and 5 days and 4 nights. After experiencing the route, I highly recommend the 4D/3N option. It is a perfect balance: challenging enough to feel the adventure but not so exhausting that you can't enjoy the last day. The other itineraries can be too demanding or rushed, or they don't align perfectly with the last day, as with the 5-day trek. ### Guide Paul Cano, our guide, made this experience exceptional. His knowledge, passion, and storytelling skills made the trip entertaining, educational, and exciting. Additionally, he took us to exclusive places, avoiding crowds, which added a magical touch to the trek. If you have the chance, ask for Paul as your guide. You won't regret it! ### Food and Chef Chef Sabino was a pleasant surprise (this is the second time I've had him hehe). Despite the limitations of cooking on the trail, each meal was delicious and varied. Sabino managed to prepare traditional dishes that enhanced the trekking experience. Sabino will make you enjoy every bite. Thank you, Sabino! ### Porters and Support Staff The porters and support staff were unparalleled. Their dedication, kindness, and willingness to ensure we enjoyed the trek were impressive. I couldn't have asked for a better support team during the journey. ### Organization and Office This is where there is room for improvement. The office team was not very involved in the trip preparation. They didn't provide clear recommendations on what to bring, which caused some inconveniences. It's important for them to improve in this area, providing travelers with more detailed and accurate information to be well-prepared. Honestly, I highly recommend having the guide's phone number before packing so they can give you good advice... In my case, the office staff didn't recommend anything, and I think it could have been much better. ### Cost and Tips The trek is expensive (we paid over 950 USD per person), and tips are not included, which we were not informed of until the day before we started. This was a considerable additional expense (around 370 USD in total). It would be better if this cost were included in the fee or communicated from the beginning. Make sure to pay the staff well! Consider 30 USD per porter per day, plus whatever you want to give the guide. ### Recommendations to Avoid Inconveniences 1. **Physical Condition and Huayna Picchu**: If you're in good physical condition, don't miss the hike up Huayna Picchu. Although it's tough, especially at the end of the trek, the view is spectacular and worth every effort. (This is not recommended by the office staff). 2. **Equipment and Clothing**: Rent trekking poles; they will save your knees. Bring layers of clothing for the cold, especially for sleeping, including thermal clothing, socks, and an inflatable pillow, as the one provided easily deflates. 3. **You won't shower**: Although there are showers, the cold might prevent you from using them. It's better to bring wet wipes and use those to clean yourself. 4. **Bathrooms**: The bathrooms along the trail vary in quality, but the portable bathroom at the campsite is the best. Lower your expectations in this regard. 5. **Technology**: Bring portable batteries because there will be no access to electricity. Also, there is no signal for most of the trail, which can be an opportunity to disconnect. 6. **Packing**: You will need to repack to carry a light 3 kg bag for the trek. We didn't know this, but your large suitcase will stay at the hotel. 7. **Private vs. Group Tour**: We opted for a private tour, and it was worth every penny. If you prefer to go at your own pace, this is the best option, as groups are not always formed based on participants' physical condition. 8. **Arriving in Cusco**: I recommend arriving at least two days before in Cusco to acclimatize and avoid altitude sickness. Also, try to book the same hotel before and after the trek. It makes the return much easier since your large suitcase will stay at the hotel, and you won't have to worry about relocating. 9. Book in advance. 10. Not recommended for people in poor physical condition.

Paul Cano (Guide), Mr. Zacarias (Chef), and Super Chaskis (Porters) created a magical, unforgettable vacation!
We did the 5 day Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu 7/21-7/25/24. It was the both the most challenging yet also the most rewarding experience! We were a private group of 7 - my 2 sisters and I, plus our kids. Paul Cano, our guide, created an amazing Trek for us, and was so knowledgeable and friendly! He was always ready with a fun story or information on the Incas, the forests, the animals, plants, anything we trekked past. Paul handled our different levels of trekking ability well, making sure everyone knew what to expect each day, and that we were all safe and comfortable along the way. He knew just how to encourage everyone to do their best, and we varied in age from 18 all the way to 53. Paul had a great rapport with our fantastic Chef, Mr. Zacarias, and our super human Porters. They worked as a team and made our trekking experience even better. Mr. Zacarias fed us like kings on the mountains in the middle of nowhere! All our meals were fantastic, with multiple courses and different selections every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our Porters were so cheerful and friendly, when they would catch up and run past us on the trail they always had a cheerful Hola or Buenos Dias. They would get to each meeting spot ahead of us and be ready with drinks/snacks and high fives when we got there. Thank you for such great trip Paul and Team!! If you are considering any Inca Trail Trek, or even just a day trip (or more) around Cusco you will be happy with Inkayni Peru.

        Incredible views!
After enjoying our experience with Inkayni on the Inca Trail, my mom and I also signed up for a day tour of Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley. Inkayni had availability the next day for a private tour for us. Our guide Ali was very friendly and knowledgeable in Andean culture. He coached us on several fun poses for memorable pictures with the beautiful scenery. We were still tired from the trail and especially feeling the higher elevation, but the views make it all worth it. Ali was very patient with us needing short breaks every 20 steps or so. Further, Ali confirmed that Inkayni’s claims about working with locals are true, rather than contracting from an office in the US like other tour companies. This was a primary factor in my family choosing Inkayni to begin with, and it was great to hear directly that this appears to be true and employees enjoy working for Inkayni versus some of the more commercialized tour groups.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience
I cannot imagine a better experience on the Inca Trail than with the Inkayni team, with our tour guide Paul and head chef Mr. Zacarías, and the Olympian-level super chaskis aka porters! The entire team was super accommodating to my family, and always very friendly and helpful. The meals were absolutely delicious and often times incredibly impressive for being away from civilization! Paul offered countless interesting and entertaining stories, knowledge of the flora and fauna, history and culture of the Inca and Peru, and medical advice and strategies such as best techniques to minimize exhaustion on the tougher days of the trail. He also was a great photographer! My family is walking away from this experience with a lifetime of memories, and I highly recommend Inkayni to anyone considering excursions in Peru/Cusco.

        Unforgettable experience
What an experience! Our guide Ali Huaman, native Quechua, added value to our trip providing us with a lot of information on history, traditions and nature. From the briefing the day before, to the train tickets, entrance to Machu Picchu and the hotel we stayed. Very organized and on top of things in the case of something unexpected happening. Our enjoyment and experience was the guide's and the agency's priority. Couldn't have asked for a better guide and a better travel agency. Very grateful for this unique experience.

This tour was phenomenal!! I am currently a college student and I took this tour with four other friends. Willie was incredibly accommodating and amazing with all of us, especially when it came to strict dietary needs of some of our crew. When we went the river was flooded but we got to make chocolate instead with Hugo which was an AMAZING experience!! I would completely recommend this trek! Haha I would also recommend that you prepare a little for the hiking days (which my group did NOT think about... whoops!) they can be a lot, but even without preparation our group was just fine!

** Also, if you are going in the rainy season I HIGHLY recommend a waterproof shell for your back pack and always use bug spray!!

      WOW…just WOW!

We had the most amazing 4 days, guided by Jjonathan who was a fund of knowledge and exuded endless enthusiasm…nothing was too much trouble for him!

Everything was meticulously planned and then adapted almost seamlessly to acts of nature…and road closures.

The combination of trekking interspersed with biking, whitewater rafting and zip line was the perfect way to spend 4 days and our arrival at Machu Picchu exceeded my expectations.

Here Jjonathan showed an encyclopaedic knowledge of his subject and made history come alive - I cannot recommend him highly enough.

      Truly, a trip to remember!

Just got back from this tour week of 4/26-4/30/22.

Overall, it was a memorable experience with Jonathan who took us on a 4 day adventure through the jungle, hiking, biking, rafting and zip lining. Jonathan is a cool and chill guide.

However, we were told that water was not included in "meals", so we had to buy our own water. Then we had to pay 40 soles to get our bags (that we couldn't carry hiking) transferred from town to town.

On day 2, in the afternoon, we hiked 2:30 hours to a hot springs close to Santa Teresa Town that we had to pay for since it was not included in the tour. It's not a lot of money but I felt that was strange since it wasn't mentioned until we got there that we had to pay the entrance fee.

On day 3, Jonathan came through and got us train tickets from Hydroelectrica to Aguas Caliente since our legs were pretty sore and we were pretty tired from Day 2 afternoon hike to the hot springs. Having said that, it was odd that our tour guide didn't know that tickets weren't being sold at Hydroelectrica station. So he managed to get us tickets by asking someone to buy them at another train station. For that we are very grateful.

Day 4, Mach Picchu was AMAZING. It is a truly magical place and we had so much fun visiting and being there. Bus ticket down from Machu Picchu NOT included in price though.

Jonathan had mentioned that he knew of a good vendor for souvenirs (quality Alpaca stuff, cheaper than Cusco were his words) in Chincherra. On the way back to Cusco, he had the van driver take us there. We bought a bunch of stuff only to find out the next day that we were ripped off and paid DOUBLE what they were charging in Cusco. I bought a sweater for 90 soles and found it the next day in Cusco for 45 soles. It was really sad because we trusted Jonathan and felt that we had treated him as a friend the entire trip. It was just a transactional relationship for him.

So anyways, overall the company is responsive, they will nickel and dime you and don't trust everything that your guide says. Having said that, we had a wonderful trip and experience. The people were friendly and kind and I believe that we treated everyone respectfully and kindly being tourists from the US.

Even with all of the positive reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect. My son (16) and I visited Peru for 2 weeks and can’t speak highly enough about this Inka Jungle Adventure. This tour was absolutely amazing and, like others, I cannot recommend Wilbert highly enough. He met us the evening before the trek and explained how things would go. He left us excited yet undersold how amazing the trek was going to be. Not only is he fluent in English but has been doing this long enough that so that many other guides along the way knew him and said hello. We really appreciated the attention he paid to us – this was not just a generic trip. I was impressed that Wilbert asked about my son’s allergies (mild) at the briefing and made sure they were attended to at each place we ate. The entire trip we felt safe and in good hands. The accommodations and food were great and as for the trek itself, if you want something other than just hiking, this trip is action packed and a ton of fun. The views on the biking portion were spectacular, the rafting was a blast, and the hiking days were amazing and educational. Then, it all culminates with a visit to Machu Picchu. Words and photos can’t do justice to how incredible it is. We added on both Huayna Picchu hike and the Vistadome train, both of which were absolutely worth it and I would strongly recommend. I’ve traveled extensively and can say that this rivals any trip I’ve been on. Thank you Wilbert!!

I spoke with other tourist on the trip and my tour with Jonathan on the inkayni Inca jungle tour excelled above all else. Not only was this tour adventurous and pushed me to be more adventurous, but it also showed a softer side with providing history and background to the lives of the natives you love Peru, Machu Picchu and what they do on a daily basis. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants excitement, an authentic experience and just a safe and easy experience. Plus the food was AMAZING!

We did the 4 day Inca Jungle tour with Guide Jonathan. First day was an amazing bike ride down a mountain near Cusco, he took more experienced riders off track for some thrills and less experience such as myself went down the road safely with the tour bus following incase you get tired.
In the afternoon we went rafting grade 3 rapids, the guides can go as hard or easy as you like, it was an unreal experience. The second day Jonathon took us on a hike through the jungle, he waited for the slower hikers and took us to amazing view points. 3rd day was zip lining which did not disappoint at all.
Machu picchu day Jonathan took us through Machu Pichu and told us all about the sites.
      Highlight
Jonathan took out out on the town and showed us how to make our own pisco Sour! Amazing trip. Highly recommended!!!

Had an amazing experience with Wilbert, very knowledgeable guide and went above and beyond in sharing knowledge, providing photo opportunities and helping us get the best out of the experience. He real wanted to provide us with the best experience he possibly could particularly on the visit to Machu Picchu along with all the other activities organised along the way. Could not recommend enough and Wilbert made the trip.

I did the 4 day Inca jungle adventure with my friends and we had the time of our life! Our guide Jonathan couldn’t have been better, he gave us a detailed briefing before the tour and was always super attentive, helpful and in high spirits during the tour. He has great knowledge and insights on the Inca culture so we get to know in detail all the places we are visiting.
I will definitely recommend this tour and Jonathan to my family and friends!
