          A must do in Cusco
To be honest, this trip was prearranged and I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was incredible! Pickup from out hotel was right on time, took a smaller van thru the city to pick up other guests and then we moved to a full size bus where we met our tour guide, Rony. They provided a guide each for English and Spanish speakers. While it is a lot of driving, we made 4 stops that were each so different, beautiful and helped us learn much more about the Inkas than I would have gotten if I only went to Machu Picchu. Pisaq and Ollantaytambo were equally as stunning, lunch was in a beautiful spot by the river, many options for dietary restrictions or choices. The market was great to shop and it felt nice to be supporting a small community rather than in the city. Finally, the stop in Chinchero was very near to learn about the many traditions passed down and used in craft making. It was a long day but Rony is an experienced tour guide and made the day both educational and fun. Highly recommend and if possible, before you go to Machu Picchu to help you appreciate and learn about the valley and the Incan Trail.

          Should experience the trip
A large group of us took the train to Machu Pichu, a great way to travel. A real quaint train. Had a small band playing music to entertain on the way. A full bar car with both bar stools and lounge chairs for seating. There is also a small caboose to allow you to take pics in teh open air as well as enjoy the atmosphere. The meal that was erved was outstanding, great service.

          Journey etched in my memory
Hiram Bingham Belmond train to Machu Pichu is a wonderful experience. They take care of minute details throughout so we could sit back and enjoy Machu Pichu. They take care of the guide, entrance/bus tickets provided booked 45 days prior. Food, drinks and service are exceptional, the staff is really friendly and help with adjustments in food preferences without any issues. Journey includes 3 hour Machu Pichu site in one of the circuits, Guides are extremely knowledgeable and takes times to go around the site and enjoy each moment. Big shout out to our guide - Washington. At the end of the MP tour, there is celebratory champagne and delicious small bites. Highly recommend to everyone who don't wish or cant hike. Although the prices are on the higher end, keep looking for offers in their website

Well planned and comfortable ride with informative tour guide
Very comfortable bus with many helpful accommodations such as bathroom and charging ports and high quality seats. We enjoyed the buffet lunch with fresh fruits and vegetables. We appreciated the bilingual tour guide Roli and his expert knowledge as a Puno native. The number of stops was perfect, and we got many bathroom breaks and nap time, and we learned about a variety of topics related to Peru history and culture. Thank you for the well planned trip for me and my family.

A little kitchy, but fun evening
This is a dinner show restaurant, and it was a lot of fun watching the crowd sing along with some of the popular Spanish songs. An international crowd. Food was okay. Wait staff is good

Outstanding tour of the Incan capital city of Cusco.
The tour was fascinating. Our guide, Huber, was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic in sharing the history of this amazing city.

Luxurious Travel to Machu Picchu with attention to detail
Your journey to Machu Picchu starts with a welcome mimosa in the private area of the train station. There the attention and great service starts with your journey to Aguascalientes at the base of Machu Picchu. The staff will make every effort to make your trip enjoyable and memorable. They will cater to all your needs. The viewing car has a bar ready to serve you all type of cocktails or coffee while you listen to music and take on the amazing views. If you are taking the Hiram Bingham to and from Machu Picchu you will get to enjoy a delicious brunch and dinner paired with the wine of your choosing. The attention to detail never ends as the staff will provide you with a bag and a water bottle and even a raincoat for your trip up the mountain. Even though we weren't able to book the entrance to Machu Picchu with the company they were gracious enough to coordinate a guide which was insightful and walk us all the way through the Citadel Circuit 3. Once you finish the tour and before you go down the mountain we were invited to a cocktail and hors d'oeuvre in the Belmond Lodge which sit right next to Machu Picchu entrance. After a long day you will get to rest and eat on your way back with everybody trying to make your trip as meaningful and enjoyable as possible. It's definitely worth the extra cost for all of us that want that extra level of attention and convenience. The best part of your day will definitely be getting to see Machu Picchu but getting to and from aboard the Hiram Bingham will make it that much more special.

One of our favourite adventures in Peru!
Absolutely excellent experience. Guides were professional and safety was optimum. Food was amazing! Both the ferrata climb and zip line were the perfect high octane experience!

Mediocre experience in an amazing location
I’ll focus on the tour and guide itself. We were greeted as we got off the train which was very nice. We were told we would be contacted the day before to coordinate which did not happen and it was a bit of a surprise to us that we actually had to be ready in Aguas Calientes. 1,5 hours before the set time on TripAdvisor. Luckily we had put a decent buffer in and made it on time. The guide knew a lot and had a ton of information, but it seemed like he had his focus on his prepared and practiced speech. He was great at taking photographs. He did not put a lot of effort into involving us and seemed to be rather busy finalizing the tour. In addition, we were recommended a restaurant after the tour where he was clearly paid or in some way sponsored to bring guests. Go your own way and explore the town! There’s plenty of great restaurants.

A solid transfer from Cusco Airport
It was a relief seeing the transfer waiting for us as we exited the airport. Deysi was easy to recognize with signage bearing my name... I know everyone's experience is personal, so I'm thankful for such a seamless experience.

          Amazing experience
The train is simply amazing! Luxurious and the food is soooo good! The staff is welcoming and very friendly. Special shouts to our waiter Diego. He was always coming to check on us and kept us always satisfied. You can tell he really enjoys his job. The train offered menu alternatives for kids as well as yummy juices for the little ones. Definitely an experience you have to live to believe it! Thank you Belmond Train Team!!!!

          An experience you never forget!
One of the best experience of our lives! This was my second time riding the Hiram Bingham, my first time was in 2016 and now again this month with my entire family. While it is pricey it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

          Outstanding Experience
This was a splurge for us because we don’t know if we’ll ever make it back here in our lifetime and it was worth every penny. We booked this train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes, stayed the night and then booked this train the following day back to Cusco. Pablo waited on our table both directions and he was phenomenal and so attentive. Sara helped organize the groups to get to the buses and up to Machu Picchu and she was awesome. All the staff made you feel like royalty. The food was delicious and we loved having the private waiting room area in Aguas Calientes. We will never forget this incredible experience !

What an amazing day!! Everything was flawless from pickup to communication.

We got sent our tickets the evening before, picked up at 6.55am, where we got a van to the Peru rail station, where we boarded a train, our guide left us here but informed us of how the day would work. The bus was 2 hours with Peru rail, where we arrived at ollantaytambo station, we were ushered with everyone on the bus to the train station where we had about 20minutes to grab a coffee and quick bite to eat before boarding the train.

I highly recommend you spend the extra $$ and get the Peru rail observatory train, that was an experience in itself, food and drink included, and live entertainment, also an entertainment deck where you could stand outside and take pictures!!!

We then arrived at Aquas Calientes at around 12.30pm a guide met us at the gate (names on a piece of paper) we had a 3pm admission time, so he took us to a recommended food spot and we walked around and explored.

We then met our guide at the designated meeting spot where we discovered my friend and myself were having a private tour!! Fantastic.

We boarded the public 20minute bus up to Machu Picchu, Ron our guide was fantastic walked at our pace and we shared some funny laughs. He was also a great personal photographer!

We then made our way back down via bus, train, bus and then private shuttle straight back the hotel.

I was at first apprehensive of how the day was going to run once I had read the reviews. But it was fantastic and flawless. Such a great experience!

Macchu Picchu is worth every trip we can make! This one started with the panoramic train, a very pleasant trip along a beautiful scenery.
Aguascalientes is overcrowded but... well... we can and must understand it, due to the worldly reputation of Macchu Picchu: Everybody wants to go there so, you must expect a long queue to board the bus that takes us above the mountain. And that's when the charm starts: the road up the mountain offers us the most exquisite scenery so, even before arriving at Macchu Picchu we find ourselves in an enchanted world.
The site in itself fulfills all we have dreamt of. It's wonderful. We spend hours there and we forget the time. The guide was extremely professional, leading us through the valley and giving us interesting explanations about everything we saw.
The only problem was the long delay to board on the panoramic train for the return. We had to wait more than an hour standing in queue, but I believe (and hope!) this was an exception. And it didn't spoil an inch my impressions on this trip. I hope it will last for long in my memory.

This was a phenomenal experience. My dad and I left our hotel in Cusco bright and early and took a train to Aguas Calientes. Our travel agency gave us a 10am slot and we arrived around 11am. I strongly recommend that you stay near Machu Picchu the night before and purchase a 6am or 8am ticket to see everything. Anyways, our tour guide was awesome and took great pictures of us. The ruins are broken up into an urban side and an agricultural side. Definitely, go once in your lifetime! Too bad, our train broke down and to wait about 2 hours for temporary repairs.

Like anyone else traveling to Peru, I was excited to see Machu Picchu and chose the best company by looking at the reviews. Given that VIPAC had good reviews, I thought I would give it a chance, but I did not have an enjoyable experience with them.

First, I originally booked one month in advance, and a few days later, they asked for confirmation via email. Due to my oversight, I didn't respond within 48 hours, and they canceled my trip. I had to work with them again to book another trip, which wasn't ideal, but that's not the main reason why I didn't have a good experience.

They provided a lack of communication, leaving travelers confused about where to go. From picking up at the hostel to the train station to the bus, you'll have to navigate on your own. I was the one that consistently try to communicate with them via email/whatsapp, not the other way around.

My tour guide was nice but rushed us through Machu Picchu, allowing limited time to take photos, which was hugely disappointing. I assumed we had more time to take pictures and explore at our own pace, but that was not the case. We came back to the train station 3 hours early when we could've explored more at Machu Picchu, a once-in-a-lifetime sight. Very disappointing.

Worse yet, the train ride was supposed to be 4 hours but ended up taking 6 hours. When I got off the train, the VIPAC shuttle bus was not there—no courtesy call or text. Instead, I had to text them. With a lack of communication, I decided to walk alone to the hostel.

There are plenty of better options than this one. I do not recommend this company, especially for the Machu Picchu tour.

Of course everyone visiting Peru wants to see the famous Machu Picchu. After some hesitation, fearing big crowds, my wife and I decided to go there. The view from the ruins is spectacular; we've all seen in it photos many times. The view is the best part of the visit. It's not cheap or easy to get there, though. You must get train tickets to Aguas Calientes, bus tickets up to the park and an entry ticket for the park itself, all of which are rather expensive. We had to wait in line 3 hours for the park entry ticket. You also have to wait in long lines to board the buses going up and down. You have to file through the park itself in a line of other tourists.

This was the only really crowded place we experienced in our 4-week trip to Peru. Unless you really don't mind crowds, I would recommend visiting other Inca ruins instead of Machu Picchu. The Machu Picchu views are tremendous, but Peru is full of tremendous mountain views.

It was beautiful trip and the tour guide at Machu was great, but, I would not recommend spending this much money to go with your company. You kind of get left to your own devices and resources trying to find out where to go as if you were doing it without a tour group. Not very clear instructions on what and where to go when there. Lots of lines to stand in and minimal time hiking or being af machu due to line ups. This is a very very long day, if you have plans that evening, don’t count on them. The train on way home stopped on tracks for over 1.5 hrs. Company made us walk home on drop off. Overall I recommend doing this on your own and buying tickets separately and going via train + taxi.

A pretty average experience. A guide picked us up from our hotel and took us to Poroy train station close to Cusco. From there, we embarked the train on our own and was greeted by a guide at Machu Picchu station, who helped us onto the public buses. We were then greeted by another guide at the Machu Picchu entrance. We spent 2.5 hours in Machu Picchu which felt incredibly rushed. Whilst our guide helped us take some awesome videos and pictures at the main vantage points, we were not permitted time to take many of our own photos as we had to progress through the circuit. We completed circuit 2, with the exception of the end where the guide took us vis circuit 3 to see the Condor Temple (which was pretty great).
We got tourist trapped at the end when we returned to the town Aguas Calientes- instead of guiding us back to the train station, the guide split us all into small groups and took us to restaurants that they clearly gain commission from sending their tour groups. We were instructed that the guide would collect us after lunch and walk us back to the station. The restaurant chosen for us was expensive and the food was inedible! Would recommend that you find your own food in Aguas Calientes and make your own way back to the station.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. It sounds like your experience had its highlights but also some areas that could be improved. We're glad to hear that the guides helped you capture great photos and that you enjoyed the Condor Temple, but we understand that feeling rushed at Machu Picchu is disappointing, especially when it's such a remarkable place to explore. We're sorry to hear about your experience in Aguas Calientes, particularly with the restaurant. It's important to feel comfortable with your choices during a trip. We appreciate your detailed review and will take your comments into account to improve the experience for future guests. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts!

I had a great time. This is a very well organized tour. First, a representative, Lilas, met me in my hotel’s lobby. She made sure I had all the tickets I needed and carefully explained every steps I would go through during the day. She came with me to the bus station and made sure I got on the right bus. The bus is decent. It’s comfortable and I believe there is wifi, although I didn’t use it. There are also usb outlets to charge your phone. We were on the bus for a little bit more then 2 hours with a quick stop to use restrooms. There are very nice views in the second part of the drive. At the Ollantaytambo train station, the staff was very helpful in making sure we all got on the right train. The train ride was very comfortable with good entertainment, free snacks and great views. At the Aguas Calientes station, someone was waiting for me with a board with my name on it. She introduced me to my guide. I didn’t expect to have a private guide! Rudier was very helpful and knowledgeable. He gave me a lot of information about Machu Picchu and the Incas, help me take pictures and also made sure I had everything I needed. After the tour of Machu Picchu, I still had a bit of time before taking train back, so I had dinner in a small restaurant in Aguas Calientes and walked around the town and the big market just outside the train station. Then, it was time to get back to Cusco the same way I came in, train, then bus. At the bus station someone was once again waiting for me with my name on a board. They brought me back to my hotel. Overall, it was a perfect day. I felt completely safe. And the views!! Wow!! Magical!!

Very happy about the whole experience with VIPAC. Local tour operator sent us several messages the day before to notify us of his arrival time at our hotel. Private van took us directly to the train station where we began the two-hour bus trip to another train station to board the train to Machu Picchu. Everything was so well coordinated. The guide at Machu Picchu was also knowledgeable and courteous. A very memorable day! Highly recommended!

A bit disappointing. I discovered just after pickup that my return trip would be to the first train stop on the route back from Cusco. Translated, this meant that I would be bussed (small, minimal leg room, no facilities or stops --- 2 hours plus!) to the bus terminal in Cusco. This made the full day about 17 hours worth of fun. The train down was from the station (Poroy) 20 minutes outside of Cusco . . why the giant bus ride back???? I was never told in spite of 2 times being told they would check. So that wasn't ideal. The tour of Machu Picchu was impressive. But our group was mixed with about 4 English and 4 Spanish speakers so the guide translated for both causing a lot of delay. Overall it was decent but know you will not be getting premium service for $349.
