Spectacular scenery and the best guide EVER!
Our trek was amazing!! Our guide, Jr., was the best ever!! He was kind, knowledgeable, and encouraging all the time! The trek was difficult and challenging but Jr. kept us motivated and informed every step of the way. My daughter (22) and I were sightseeing through Peru celebrating her graduation college...our trip ended with this trek and all the incredible things we did and saw on it...we were so lucky to have had this experience! Thank you Bamba for all you provided before, during, and after the trek!!

Salkantay Trek
Amazing trip! Junior was the best guide I had so far. His knowledge, humor and kindness really made this trip. The food made by the chef was delicious. The trek was with a small group so the tour guide junior was able to adjust the trek to our wishes.

Fabulous 4 Day Incan Trail Trek
Chino was our guide and Bennie was our chef. They along with the porter team made this trip special. Attended to all the different needs of the group with ease. Chino taught us so much about Peruvian culture, the land, history of Incas and so much more. I would highly recommend this dynamic duo. Extraordinarily friendly and patient with everyone in the group. Went above and beyond the call of duty to make our trip memorable.

Salkantay with Francisco
Aug 2019 • Friends
An excellent few days. The Salkantay trail was stunning and Machu Picchu just as we ha imagined, if a little crowded. The whole experience was made perfect by our guide Francisco who was incredibley knowledgeable about local geography and plants and introduced us to Inca culture and history all in flawless English. He also made the trek itself much more manageable, setting a pace we could all cope with and taking the sometimes challenging climbs nice and steady.

Overall I would highly recommend booking the salkantay trek with Bamba.

Fantastic!
We went on this beautiful trek with the guide Nico and cook Jorge. The food was basic (we were in the middle of nowhere in the mountains), but it was native and good - made with pride and respect. The guide was perfect and provided us with good stories and lots of information about the history. He was also very caring and helpful - I was sick and he took extra care of me! All in all it was a really amazing trek. You will get beautiful views and lots of challenges in the high altitudes. This trek is a must!

4 day Salkantay trek with Bamba experience.
Jun 2019 • Friends
The first 3 days were excellent. With our small group of 4 participants, we had the chance to have Nico as our guide. Competent and attentive to each of our needs, he also loved to share his knowledge about the Incas and their traditions. On top the Salkantay, he even performed a small rituel with coca leaves.
The horsemen and the cook were outstanding, meals were so good and yummy. 5 stars !

Since we did the 4 day trek, we were awaited by our second guide, Junior, at the hydraulic station. He assured the delivery of our duffel bags to the hotel and arranged for us to meet for our next and final big day: the visit to Machu Pichu. On top of the mountain, he gave some historical background and pointed to the different buildings to visit...but did not accompany us to the actuel site. Instead, Junior left us to wonder around on our own at around as off 10 o'clock, told us at what time we should catch the bus and train back and gave us our tickets !
This was very disappointing, since Machu Picchu was the highlight of our journey.

BUT, all in all, I can recommend Bamba. The small groups (not more than 6 or so) makes it a very personable experience.

The personal in ther office in Cusco is very helpful and friendly...and the bonus foot massage the day after, very much appreciated.

Thank you all for the experience of a lifetime.

Salkantay Trek
This trek was superbly organized from the minute we met the Bamba Tour office staff to the end of the trek. Flawless organization and coordination. Our trek team, our guide Niko, the chef Grimaldo, and our horse man we’re phenomenal. Niko was kind, sensitive, very grounded in the knowledge of his ancestors and always willing to impart traditional knowledge and wisdom. He encouraged us to focus on mind over matter... important for this trek. Niko kindly encouraged me to access a horse when it was clear I might not make the Salkantay peak in good enough time! We all enjoyed Niko’s attention to our well being. His English is excellent...so no worries for English only speakers. Our chef, Grimaldo was beyond the beyond! Three course meals... beautifully prepared Peruvian cuisine that amazed all of us. Three substantial meals a day, beautifully prepared, and flavourful! We cleared off every plate! Our horseman and chef packed the kitchen up, packed our tents, hitched our horses, left our camp after we did and were still hours ahead of our every arrival! Impressive!

The arrival at Machu Pichu was of course, the gem of the trek and our guide from the train station to Aguas Calientes, Junior, was energetic and conversational and very organized! Flawless planning. Our guide did seem a little distracted at the Machu Pichu site and seemed a bit hurried. He was knowledgeable and provided us with important historical facts, however he did not accompany us at the city site and we were left with no ability to interpret what we were looking at. This aspect could be something improved upon. Otherwise, we were superbly looked after!

Epic adventure - highly recommend
Myself, 3 friends and another traveler completed the hike with the help of a very knowledgeable guide - Cesar Flores. He knew the answer to every question we asked, knew the entire history of the trail, took the time to explain native plants, and has a lot of hiking experience and most importantly, had a good laugh with us. Whole trip was well planned and everything was amazing. Photos are mind blowing, Victor, our chef, cooked up incredible 3 course meals at every stop (breakfast, lunch and dinner), Very well fed. The hike has some hard areas on day 2, mainly due to the altitude, (we only spent 2 days in Cusco coming from sea level in months prior). Don’t under estimate the altitude effects, we consider ourselves fit and it certainly rocked us. We completed the hike in first week of June, no rain, though very cold at night, layer up!
