This was our second trek on the Inca Trail with Bamba. We had such a fantastic experience with our daughter 4 years ago, that we made sure to book with Bamba again when we took our boys (ages 10 & 16) last week. Our guide was Francisco, and I can't say enough good things about him. We felt like we were saying goodbye to a dear friend by the end of the trek. He is full of passion, pride, and knowledge about the Andean way of life, and we valued every bit that he shared with us. He gave particular attention to my 10-year-old son, and they were two men on the trail together almost the entire time. This took much of the stress off of my husband and me, as our son was eager to spend time with Francisco and learn from him and they kept a nice pace together. I am so grateful for the friendship that they formed on this incredible hike.
The porters are sweet, incredibly hard-working and supportive. The chef is incredible. There is always more than enough food and everything was absolutely delicious. This company is 2/2 for exceptional service in our experience, and would highly recommend them. Francisco is a star and a great asset to Bamba, and all of his guests on the trail are in luck!

We were lucky and only our party of 3 was hiking with our excellent guide Francisco. The porters and the cook Benny were very professional and they were spot on in terms of food and water needs. The trip brought us so much joy and adventure and was very doable as Francisco inspired and encouraged us to take in the Andes mountains with every step. Highly recommended!

The porters and guide made this experience what it was, the guide frank was very knowledgeable and inclusive of the porters. The whole team worked extremely hard to make this a seamless experience. A great way to see some spectacular inka ruins and the inka trail in itself is mind blowing. It was really special getting to know frank and his team of porters, I appreciated the effort frank put into introducing us to the porters. Cristobal the chief, the meals he made were some of the best meals I’ve had in South America his assistant chef Mario and waiter Lucio were great too. A big special thanks to the other porters - Fernando, Nazario, Nloolás, Grimaldo, Araustin, Cipriano and Claudio. This team worked so unbelievably hard, and made this trip extra special. Thank you!

Just did the Inca Trail with these guys and loved it! the trail itself was amazing however there were some issue which was not totally clear for us. We booked the fully package through the travel agent also we pay lot of money, and the surprise was when we arrive to Bamba office they charged us for sleeping bag, air mattress, and some other items, so they have to be clear with all of these before to book the trip.

Another thing wa with the tipping to the team(Porters, Chef) why they have to force us to put an amount for it. When we book it they said it is optional and according of the service we should decide about it and not the tour guide.

Hope Bamba can manage of it and make better for the future clients, but for now my rate will be only two starts.

Bambas is a complete scam. They don’t have Inca trail available despite what their calendar says. They will put you on a much cheaper trek after you pay and keep your money. I met several people in Cusco who were scammed by this company. They keep doing it because trip advisor is no help at all in getting your money back.

Please, please, do not do business with this company for any reason at all. Any other activity they have is far overpriced. If you’re unable to book the Inca Trail, look up KB Adventures or Salkantay Trekking. You’ll have an amazing time on the Salkantay at a fraction of the price.

You can also book all of the tours, aside from The Inca Trail, when you arrive at Cusco from many of the local tour operators, again at a fraction of the cost.

Don’t make the same mistake I did!!

Vicente (guide), Jorge (chef) and the group of porters (including Pablo and Juan) all did such an a amazing job to make my wife and I have a great trek along the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Vicente went above and beyond to make sure that everyone was comfortable, safe, and enjoying the trip. His English is completely fluent and he is very personable. He was adaptable to the individual levels of experience in the group and made instructions clear for anyone that wanted to go ahead while others took their time. I would not want another guide, Vicente is the best! Jorge prepares amazing food and always had everything ready on time. He is adaptable to dietary restrictions, as 2 members of our group were vegetarian. He even prepared a birthday cake for a member of the group! The porters including Juan and Pablo were absolute machines, beating all of us to camp or lunch each day so that things could be set up by the time that we arrived. Overall an amazing experience. Bamba, you have made an excellent decision in employing Vicente, Jorge, Juan and Pablo. Thank you for a 5 star experience!

Vicente + Jorge the chef + the team of porters made our Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu a one of a kind experience that my husband and I will remember for a lifetime. Vicente was patient with us as we took our time acclimating to the altitude while we climbed Dead Woman’s pass. He was informative on all the plants, animals, and historic sights along the trek. He always prepared us for what to expect and how to achieve our goal to reach Machu Picchu. Jorge’s food was excellent! We always had snacks for tea-time (aka happy hour) and he even surprised one of our fellow trekkers with a cake for his birthday! I was constantly amazed by the meals he created as we camped in rural areas along the trek. Our team of porters made our lives so much easier by carrying 20 kilos each! During our hikes I carried my water, sunscreen, and phone - that was it! They were all extremely pleasant, always smiling, and cheering us on when we arrived to camp. Every day they would leave behind us and arrive before us with our tents already up and ready for us. I know this was the first BAMBA four day/three night Inca Trek, but there was no telling! Vicente, Jorge, and the porters were well prepared and made this hard trek so rewarding and fun! Thank you Bamba, Vicente, Jorge, and the team of porters. Your country and its people are beautiful! My husband and I look forward to coming back!

My fiancé and I did the 4 day Inca trail trek and had an absolutely spectacular time!! Our tour guide Diego was a seasoned vet and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the Inca’s, the trail, and the plants and animals along it. He was great about keeping pace, not making us go too fast but not having us drag behind either. The food along the trek was next level as well. Our cook George and his helper/porter Antonio would go above and beyond with meals, snacks, and tea during the trek. We were shocked how fantastic the food was, and they even did vegan/veggie upon request during booking. I would HIGHLY recommend you request Diego for your guide. I don’t think the trip would have been as enjoyable without him!!

We did the 4 day trek to Machu Picchu. We had arranged to do the classic Inka Trail but this was unfortunately closed by the Government because of landslides to ensure the safety of Tourists. Bamba communicated to this and placed us on the Quarry Trek which is typically c.£100 more at no additional price and gave us the option to cancel for a full refund. This shows an honest tour company. We had continued updates and communication before. The briefing the night before was longer than it needed to be but that was okay because it highly informative and gave critical information for preparation.

The Quarry Trek was amazing and scenic. Ascending to a height of approximately 4200m above the clouds. The tents are provided for and the chef prepares the food which is a welcome relief after trekking continuously in high altitude. It is completely worth it though for the spectacular views you see throughout the tour of breathtaking natural beauty.

The food prepared from the chef was good (considering he had to prepare it in the mountains). There was a lot of food meaning we could replenish calories and energy to combat the trekking.

Special mention to our tour guide Junior who was FANTASTIC! He engaged all of us throughout teaching us about our surroundings and providing examples. His English was wonderful and he provided lots of interesting historical background to the Inkas. The tour he provided of Machu Picchu itself was of very high quality also explaining lots of different facts about it and differing theories and insight into how the site will be in the future. He was polite, professional and heightened the experience for all - no doubt.

Machu Picchu is simply the most breathtaking sight and well worth visiting.

I cannot recommend Bamba enough for this experience!
