3-day Inca quarry trek to Machu Picchu.
My daughter and I came to Peru to see Machu Picchu. I wanted to do a short hiking trip so this one sounded good. I disagree with the description that it is an easier hike and would be good for new hikers. I felt that it was actually fairly tough, though I am not in the best of shape. I am however very grateful to have had our tour guide Cesar Flores. With the hike being more difficult than I expected he was very attentive and always making sure that I was ok to keep going. In the end, we didn’t complete the whole hike but he made sure that we saw as much of the ruins and other sights as possible. Cesar came up with a plan B for us that worked. We were fed wonderful food and were well attended to. I do feel that it is a fairly technical hike, especially coming down the mountain. We are grateful for the experience and that we were able to see some wonderful archaeological sites here in Peru.

Dear traveler, Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate the time you took to write your review, as it helps us improve our services. All our treks are demanding and we are very sorry that this has not been clear. We totally understand and agree with you about this. We will talk with our Product Development team to make it clearer in our website to avoid that this happens again to other travelers. Despite this, we are happy to know that Cesar helped you complete the journey to Machu Picchu and you both could absorb all the knowledge he has. He is certainly one of our best guides and we are very pleased to know about his conduct in this situation, which leaves us even more confident in his work. We take this opportunity to make our public thanks to him, after all are our guides that make the experience of our travelers unforgettable. When you want to return to Cusco, we will be more than happy to help you find a trek that suits better to your hiking level. =) All of us from Bamba wish you a great week! Cheers, Conceição De Camillis

Beautiful hike; Poorly organized
May 2018 • Family
I highly recommend the adventure of hiking the Quarry trail - it is an absolutely beautiful hike, and it goes without saying that Machu Picchu itself is unforgettable. Having said this, I'm not completely sold on the tour group we used (Bamba Experience). There were many miscommunications along the way, and we almost didn't get to do the hike at all due to a construction-related road closure that Bamba Experience failed to notify our trek guide of prior to heading out. It caused us to be 5 hours behind schedule on the first day which led to our group missing out on the breakfast we paid for as part of our package, hiking in the dark for the latter part of our first day, and hiking with no water for several hours.
I emailed Bamba Experience to offer them an opportunity to respond before posting this review. They initially emailed me back to say they would look into my concerns and would get back to me, but that was nearly a month ago, and I have heard nothing more from them.
All in all, it was a fun and memorable experience, but for the money we spent to do this trek, we should not have had to miss out on a meal or on much needed water, and should not have been rushed through the hike due to their lack of due diligence.

Dear Jeppe, First we want to thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the time you took to write such detailed review that helps us to improve our services. In the other hand we are very sad to know that you didn’t received what was scheduled, we’re deeply sorry for this and want to assure you that this is not our way of work. We have reinforced our mission and values with the guides so that they internalize the importance of ethics in everything they do, avoiding that situations like this happen again. With this in mind, we understand that this guide does not have the appropriate characteristics to be part of our team and we truly apologize for what happened. Besides this, we really hope that you have had fun on this amazing destiny, with such an abundant nature, breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable energy. Sincerely, Conceição De Camillis Bamba Happiness team

Great tour but sexually aggressive guides
Serious safety incident
Nov 2017 • Friends
I went on this tour with a friend and the inca trail was absolutely beautiful and the crew were terrific - they prepared delicious food and kept us very well looked after! However on the first night after a few friendly drinks, the two tour guides began behaving inappropriately towards myself and the other women in the group. I felt taken advantage of as one was feeling me up without my consent. The next morning I was walking at the back of the group when the second guide subtly isolated me and then grabbed the back of my head and tried to kiss me. Although I understood that he was apologetic about this, he continued to make sexual advances on the women in my group and made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. As he was in a position of authority over the group, he completely abused his power through his unacceptable behaviour. I would strongly urge any person looking to do the Inca trail to chose a different company because although Bamba's service was great, you do not want to be stuck in the wilderness for three days with a sexually aggressive guide with zero respect women.

Sabine, This is completely shocking and unacceptable, we'd really appreciate if you were to contact us directly to happy@bambaexperience.com and we'll deal with this directly. We never accept this from any guide and be sure that we will take all the necessary measures needed to make sure these people are nowhere near the travellers that put their trust in us. We completely agree and we don't want travellers to be in the wilderness with a predator like this, thank you for letting us know about this situation so that we can do something about it. Sincerely, Rene Rodarte Customer Service Manager
