- Jet612943420800 contributionsGreat way to explore ArequipaFun bike ride through Arequipa. Our ride was about 30 km and 400 m ascent/descent. It is a great way to see another side of the city and the farm lands around it. Dont be scared of the traffic, we all felt very safe riding with RaulWritten October 19, 2024
- lisaeQ931KL0 contributionsNice Tour!Really nice Tour! A lot of fun :-) I would definitely recommend it. Raul is a friendly and cool guide and shows a lot of spots in Arequipa which tourists normally don’t see.Written September 24, 2024
- Kabsodih0 contributionsGreat enjoyable rideDefinitely a recommended activity if you want to see a different part of arequipa's country side, plenty of stops along the way a few ups and downs and plenty of time to have a good chat and meet new people. Bikes were good for the ride The guide was good and very professional with good communication skills. Having a bit of fitness will make the ride even more enjoyableWritten August 1, 2024
- Marcel B0 contributionsGreat insight into Arequipa off the main tourist trails. It was a very varied bike tour with a beautiful view of the volcanoes. The guide was also great and gave me lots of information about Arequipa. Please note! Not suitable for non-athletic people. Sunscreen and water are also a must. I can recommend the tour.Written April 2, 2024
- 631eduarde0 contributionsGreat peruan experience in ColcaWe had so much fun and a great insight into peruan life in Colca Canyon! Food was great and the hike challanged us! Ventura, our driver Eduardo and our Guide Paul are highly recommended. Paul was not only a great guide because of the hiking but he also told us a lot of the history of Colca and also about flora und fauna. It was a great experience at all =).Written June 5, 2022
- O6864IGclaudiac0 contributionsThe perfect experienceWe went on this trip not yet knowing what to expect, what this trip was amazing! Raoul is the best guide and he make you feel like real family. This trip went so much further than a regular trail. We created real friendship bonds and learned from each other’s cultures while experiencing beautiful nature. I will miss this experience so much and I recommend everybody to book a trail with ventura travel. Driver and families down the canyon were amazing. Please if you want to trek down the canyon instead 3am book your trip here they start at 7 am! Or else it won’t be the same. Amazing experience!Written May 9, 2022
- C5177HJraymondl0 contributionsFantastic once in a Lifetime experience You won't regret itHad the most amazing experience! We start from arequipa at 7 am instead 3 am. Food and organization was incredible and although some of the walking was tough , the views were amazing and it was definitely worth it ! Would 100% recommend, worth every penny ! The whole trek was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I highly recommend picking this company, they are the best!Written May 9, 2022
- 282aidend0 contributionsOne of the best tour companies I have ever used!My friend and I have just returned from the colca 3D/2N trek with ventura travel. Really can't fault the tour in any way; it has so far been the highlight of our Peru trip, and surpassed all expectations we had. We booked in advance a trip from Arequipa to The Colca Canyon, the trekking was amazing, The views along the route are incredible, we saw a Condor too! The tour took us to Puno. which was just what we wanted. As a company, ventura travel were very well organised, and provided an excellent service. The briefing with raoul the evening before the first day clarified the schedule and requirements of the trip. Everything happened on time, and we were always clear on what was going on, in a way we haven't come across since with other tour companies. Our guide, was superb. Spoke great English, was really knowledgeable, Overall, incredible experience, made all the better by ventura travel. Would recommend for anyone.Written February 5, 2020
- manuelagM9153PT0 contributionsUnique and excellent experience!!My friends and I traveled for more than a year, after doing many tours throughout our trip. Our last stop was in Arequipa. We were looking to go to the Colca Canyon, but we did not like the departure times at 3 am. We wanted something different, and we finally found this company that leaves at 7 am to go to the Canyon. We think it is the only agency that has a departure at that time in Arequipa. The price was really very high for our budget, but since it was our last adventure, we bought it. Very good experience from the beginning to the end. Our guide Remy was very attentive and knew very well about the nature. Our first night we stayed in a small loca family we were surprised by how everything was organized. Good food, the room was very clean with private bathroom. The second day was long, but very relaxing. We visited an oasis with a pool and in the afternoon we went up to the Canyon and spent the night in a hostal in cabanaconde with a very comfortable private bathroom. Our third day calmer, very early already in our private transport. We visited the viewpoint of condors and the guide was very flexible with the stops, then we visited the town of Chivay, the hot springs and our end was a lunch buffet. We left very satisfied and we could sleep on the bus on our way back to Arequipa. Thanks Ventura Travel, we feel happy about everything and the flexibility. The groups of this company are small and everything was included. Highly recommended.Written February 1, 2020
- 753puric0 contributionsOne of the best tours from my trip to PeruWe decided to take the 3 days tour since we wanted to enjoyed and take it easy. It was worth every penny! Raul was easy to contact and very clear in the communication, we were a group of 3 and Christian, our guide, took care of us beyond I expected but making it fun and adventurous. We did amazing hikings combined with lovelies baths at the Oasis and the thermal pools. And we saw many condors! The food was excellent all the time and the driver was really professional. Thanks guys for this great time!Written November 30, 2019
- Kathryn P0 contributionsAmazing trek, amazing guideWe did the 3 day Colca Canyon hike. Raul came to our hotel the day before to explain the itinerary to us and advise us on what to pack, which we really appreciated. The next day we were picked up from our hotel by our driver Armando and our guide Christian. Both were great. Christian was amazing - he knew everything about the local area, let us set the pace for the hiking, and was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. The trek itself was great, the scenery was beautiful, the accommodation and food were really good, and we enjoyed the chance to relax in the pool at the bottom of the canyon and the next day in the hot springs. Would really highly recommend!Written September 14, 2019
- 244nickz0 contributionsTotally Unprofessional! Rude last minute cancellation! Some dude called us up 9am the day before our $700 3 day trip to Colca Canyon to inform us, that because trip advisor doesn’t pay them quickly enough (viator), they would be cancelling on us. This guys called directly to our hotel room and very creepily said that he would just in a cab that moment because he had to speak with us in person about something secret?! What?!? After pushing him on this a bit, he finally admitted that he had already cancelled our trip, and wanted to tell us is person... to soften the blow? Crazy. Stay away from these criminals. They ruined our time in Arequipa.Written July 30, 2019
- Anne B0 contributionsWonderful trek in canyon del ColcaWe did our trek with Christian and it was a wonderful experience. We learned a lot about the canyon, the inhabitants and the Peruvian culture in general. The trek is not too hard (18 km, the hardest part is the last day). We had time to relax and enjoy the swimming pool at the oasis and the view (and the hot spring last day). The trek is expensive but worth it. We were only the two of us so we could choose the rythme of the journey. We had a nice driver and a kind guide. We did not pay anything more except the drinks (water and others if wanted). It was all inclusive. Nice experience for us ! You should do it ! Anne and AndreaWritten June 3, 2019
- 1976filipm0 contributionsAmazing experience of Colca CanyonIt was very well organized and carried over tour. Our guide Remy was extremely friendly person with wonderful attitude to kids and very wide knowledge about the canyon but also broad knowledge about Inca and Quechua culture and heritage. It was really amazing time in real nature, the accomodation was really nice and cosy, although basic. Our children rated this trip highest among all trips and tours done during our almost 4 weeks round tour in Peru and Bolivia so you must have made really good impression on them :) Well done. Thank you very much Remy again for wonderful experience of Peru and Colca canyon !!!!Written May 12, 2019

We had a fantastic 2 day tour into Colco Canyon with our local guide Hans (don't let the name fool you, he is Peruvian). Everything was taken care of, with the only extra cost being entry to the thermal springs after the hike, which we were aware of before booking. Hans was very relaxed on the walk, going at our pace and giving us plenty of breaks along the way. He also took the time to explain to us the area, the plants and animals we came across and how the local people lived. He was genuinely interested in maximising our experience rather than just simply trying to finish as quickly as possible.
All supplied meals were tasty and plentiful, we didn't feel hungry at any point and the overnight lodge was basic but clean and comfortable, with a swimming pool (if it is warm enough) and drinks and snacks for sale (dinner included).
Ultimately it was an amazing experience and we would happily recommend this tour to anyone looking to hike through Colca Canyon

Two day trek to Colca Canyon with a knowledgable, friendly, local guide. Remi, our guide, took us down to to the canyon trek took us down to the Oasis - a lush, pristine area within the canyon. All the locals knew and liked Remi and treated our group really well. Remi was flexible with our small group, which had different hiking paces. We got to see all the main highlights you can hope for in 2 days, get to know the local culture a bit, and enjoy the incredible views.

Took a private tour for 2 persons, cost was higher but was worth it, Christian the guide was excellent - good English, knowledgeable, helpful. It's 4 hours drive before starting going down which is really hard but with fascinating views. Way up was even harder but seeing the sunrise over the canyon iss unforgettable. True experience

We booked the tour with Ventura travel, because we were attracted by the idea of small groups and of being picked up at 6:30 instead of at 3!! We could't be happier with our choice!! We were lucky that the "small" group ended up being just us and we had a wonderful time with the driver/DJ and our great guide Remi. He kept telling us a lot of stuff about the Canyon and how it is to live there, which was nice because distracted me from the tiredness. He is a really nice guy and fun to talk to! Additionally, the food was very nice throughout the places we ate during the tour (we specially enjoyed the biiig breakfast after the hike up) and they were really flexible in the drive back, allowing us to stop to see lamas, alpacas and vicuñas.
Thanks a lot for a wonderful experience

My friend and I were looking for an activity to do while staying in Arequipa. Luckily we stumbled across Ventura, which provides an incredible experience in which you travel with a local guide and have the opportunity to try authentic local food (your guide takes you to a buffet where you can try a lot of different, delicious local foods at once - definitely a highlight of the trip) and see all the best areas of Colca Canyon.
Our guide, Jose, was fantastic. He made sure we stopped when we needed more water or needed a restroom, and brought fruit for us as snacks when we were on longer parts of the trek. He answered all of our questions and had great tips on condors (another highlight of the trip - an hour or so looking at the condors!) And even gave us recommendations for when we were in Arequipa.
The trip allowed us to see so much and meet new people for an affordable price that is well worth the cost. We even got to feed a baby alpaca and try a 'Colca Sour' drink at a roadside stand. He made sure we got to try everything we wanted to while driving around and trekking. We would definitely travel with Ventura again!

We are a family of 5, 3 kids 10, 14, 17 did the 2D track to Colca canyon.
I advise you to read the 1 star reviews on this company before booking with them.
We traveled 1 month in Peru, July-August 2018, did both group and private tracks. private track always cost more, but on the other hand you get something different. that is not the case with this company. you pay 3 times more and get exactly the same experience.
The car is a 7 seat SUV so we had to squeezed in - 3 in the middle row and 2 in the 3rd row which is more suitable for children. keep in mind that you have 4 long hour drive each day. (in other private tours the car was spacious mini van).
when we told Raul during the track that we are not happy with something that he promised us and we didn't get, he answered very rudely how dare we complain after the discount he gave us...
At the bottom line:
we enjoyed the 2 days and got almost everything as promised. Fabian the guide spoke English well and was very nice. but -
the only better thing in this private tour is that the pickup is at 6:30 instead of 3:00, and you can walk at your own pace. in my opinion it doesn't worth this price.

good morning SIR
First of all, I can not apologize for anything! You are a very complicated customer from the beginning. You say, we are a family of isrraelitas we do not have much money, we are very understandable please Family Your service is very expensive for Us.You ask for a special price, that your children of 9, 8 and 11 years can be in a single room together with you. Our company has 2 years of work, all our clients have the same service, the same type of transport, even many customers are happy with our transport SUV 2016 a service that we include everything. We do not understand you, WHAT YOU WANT? You ask for all the time that you are treated like a king, because you pay an amount of money that is below our normal standard. We are happy and proud of our work and the very good valuation of clients
who really appreciate fair work,
We are really sorry for how you think and how to make you happy. A work of many years many happy groups, the same service and you complain that everything is very bad, that is unfair, I am Raul I am always happy to do a personalized job with our clients, visiting the day before the tour for a breefing to see that everything goes right. I work as a guide since 18 years and I speak English very well. I am not perfect, I also make mistakes, but I will never understand you. I wait for you the last day at your hotel to talk with you, but you just turn your head and do not want to listen. You believe that you are always right. you only complain about the food, the transport, the guide and also about me and what you pay. Your phrase l will always remember. that we should add more money and treat you like a king.
I'd better wish you a happy trip!

I am Interested in a 2 day Colca canyon tour, but was wondering if this one allows for me to break off at the end in Chivay so I can continue on to Puno instead of returning to Arequipa.
Written April 15, 2018
Hi! We did the trek with „Peru Andes“ and they offered aswell a Transport to Puno after the trek. The total for trek and final transport to Puno is 75 USD.
