My husband reached out to Takiri a week before our departure, and asked them to draft 7 night itinerary with highlights including hiking, diving, and snorkeling. Takiri staff immediately responded with an itinerary for an unforgettable trip in Galapagos that fits all our needs with VERY REASONABLE price. They listened to our requests and customized the trip. For example, I had two days doing snorkeling and birding while my husband went diving. They were even able to book a Gordon Rock dive for him which would normally be booked out months in advance. All the pickups were seamless. Staff were attentive. Lunch places were excellent (The Steak & Wine in Santa Cruz has excellent cuts for steak lovers). The hotel rooms were spacious and clean. Our guides were so knowledgeable and answered every question we asked: Astrid (Santa Cruz Island) has a degree in Biology and talked about neurology research in Frigatebirds; Erika (Isabela Island) identified all the birds during our Wetland Hike and taught us so much about Giant Tortoises and their behaviors. Hands down. The dive shop took spectacular videos for my husband he's still so stoked. I understand that a lot travelers prefer making their own plans, or have an impression that travel agencies are normally ripoffs. However, after chatting with individuals whom booked individual excursions, I realized our ROI with Takiri might be even better. This tour was amazing! It's perfect if you have a limited amount of time to explore Ecuador. Our guide, Angel, was punctual and knowledgeable. During the drive to Cotopaxi, we learned a little of the history of Ecuador and the culture. We would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends.

Amazing! So much fun! We saw so much wildlife: 7 types of monkeys, birds, caimans, sloths, snakes, river dolphins. For being way far from civilization, they feed you well, you sleep comfortably, guide at Green Forest Lodge was great! Getting there is a long trip, but worth it. Takiri was easy to work with, good communication, very reliable. Highly recommended!

The 6-day Takiri Galapagos on a budget trip was fantastic and well worth the price. My partner and I really enjoyed the well-managed experience with the Takiri staff holding our hands through the entire travel process. For a couple who has never done a trip quite like this before, it was very helpful and removed a lot of the burden involved with a trip like this. The activities were fantastic! From the volcano hike and snorkeling in the Tunnels to the breeding center and darwin research plaza, activities were engaging and worth the time. While we decided to skip the last activity in our 6-day trip in favor of exploring the town and beaches of Santa Cruz island, we really appreciated how well managed our time was throughout the duration of the trip. Hotel accommodations and food provided were satisfactory and did not hinder our experience whatsoever. Last but not least, Takiri staff, tour guides, hotel staff, and locals are all very friendly and welcoming. I absolutely would recommend this trip to all those interested. If you have more time or budget available, the other groups we came across spoke highly of the 8-day trip as well.

Alex personalized a hybrid trip for us, combining Galapagos with a 4 day trip to Cuyabeno and adding some trips around Quito. We absolutely loved the trip and Takiri was very reliable about always meeting us where and when they said they would. There were some bumps in the road, none Takiri's fault, and they always did their very best to work things out for us. Communication was easy. We'd absolutely use them again. One recommendation: the transfers were the biggest issues for us, and it's worth paying for whatever upgrades are available for ferries in the Galapagos and for transport by private car to the Amazon. Loved it, loved it, loved it! ("Who was with you" question didn't have drop down for just family -- we had no teens.)

It was a family trip for us and it was a very memorable experience. Takiri agent, Alex was accomodating and responsive. Going with a tour and having good guides are very important to enjoy a trip like this because tons of logistics were involved at evety step. We couldn't have done as much activities without the help of guides. We would have wasted a lot of time and be stressed. Almost all the guides were helpful, knowledgeable and set our expectations well in terms of itinerary because things run differently on the island. Kicker Rock on San Cristobal was the highlight of the trip. Even though my daughter wasn't a strong swimmer, she wore a life jacket and hang out with the guide who was patient and took care of her, she had a memorable trip and saw many turtles and marine life. We had many wonderful experiences. We would highly recommend Takiri to others that are interested in going to Galapagos.

Wow!! What a wonderful adventurous experience! Every detail was perfect! Takiri travel is a top notch company. The daily activities were very well planed out and packed with fun. Every tour guide was prompt, spoke English, was kind and took their time sharing their wonderful knowledge of the Galapagos. This trip did involve many modes of transport: planes, buses, trucks, water taxis, water ferries, speed boats and all were totally organized. People picked us up daily with a sign with our name on it. This is a trip for adventurous people that love nature and wildlife! The snorkeling was amazing- up close with sea turtles, sharks, sea lions etc. The marine iguanas and tortoises were in abundance. Hotels are basic, very clean and have everything you need, too busy to even spend time in the room. Trip of a life time! Did NOT feel like it was a budget trip, we did sooo many wonderful things. Galapagos you are in our hearts forever. PS- pack Dramamine, and a good sunscreen!

Takiri selected a nice variety of experiences for us. Snorkeling at Tuneles was the best! We snorkeled two other days as well. The hike up Volcan Sierra Negra was challenging (10 mile round trip), but was worth it for understanding the formation of the islands. Only glitch was a change in plans (7:30am pickup instead of 11am) that was sent after 9pm the night before. The other couple didn't get the word and I had to wake them up at 7am and tell them myself.

Overall we had a great day. Manuel, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the area and spoke good English to explain all about the nature and culture of the area. The hike to the refuge at 4864m was harder than expected but worth the climb. We were lucky to see two Andean wolves/foxes Riding on the horses was a great way to see the landscape, and being given the outfits to wear made it more fun. The only reason we gave 4 not 5 star was because there was some confusion on the price. After booking the trip on line we asked to pay sixty dollars more per person because there were only two of us, it’s cheaper if more people go.

This tour company is great! Customized a great itinerary for a great value. Easy communication and always had someone to be in touch with 24/7 for any assistance (advice , logistical issues, etc..) all the accommodations were very comfortable and in the main locations with in distance everywhere. Thank so much takiri I will cherish and remember my stay in Ecuador and the gallops for a lifetime.

We ended up changing the Budget Experience to the 5 day Boutique Experience and it was worth every penny. Alex designed a trip for my 25 year old daughter and me that was one of the most memorable trips we've been on. The trip was revised before we landed in Galapagos which was confusing at first but Alex had thought out what would be best and he was right. Staying 3 nights in the Scalesia Lodge in the highlands was magnificent. There we were catered to at a first class level with meals made by an extraordinary chef. The tours were well thought out and if we needed to change anything, Alex went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were taken care of . Alex hired Emma as one of our guides-- she is brilliant, engaging and so much fun-- we learned something at every turn. we heard of Takiri on Trip Advisor and felt hand held each day of the trip. I've already recommended Takiri to a good friend-- and would highly recommend it to anyone reading this review. It was one of our best lifetime trips!

The best part, to me, was that I did not have to worry with logistics. Yes, you can book the tours yourself at the islands or thru a website. However, then you have to get to the tour starting point, arrange transportation back to your hotel, etc. Takiri Travel took care of EVERYTHING!! From the minute I landed at the Baltra airport until I was back to the airport, a guide was with me to assist. I could just enjoy the Galapagos Islands, see a lot of different animals and plants, and take a lot of pictures. Alex was always a whatsapp message away and responded to any question within minutes. I highly recommend Takiri Travel to anybody who wants a "no hassle", "no worry" holiday to the Galapagos.

This was a fantastic trip with excellent personalized service. My wife and I were picked up at the house we were staying at in Quito but our guide Gerald. He was on time, courteous and was in a spacious and clean vehicle. He was nice enough to stop at a clean rest station for us to grab a coffee on the way there and during the ride there and back constantly gave us intriguing local facts about the country, the volcanos and generalized conversation. We got our selves fixed up at the entrance of the park where we were able to buy some gloves and snack and then proceeded to head for the base of the mountain, all the while, Gerald pointing out amazing facts. Once we hit the parking lot we proceeded up the volcano to the base camp where, although it was a tough climb, he was encouraging and and made the hike to base camp a blast. Making it to the base camp there was hot chocolate and cocoa leaf tea waiting for us for a needed break. After a brief rest we descended back to the parking lot were were were taken by vehicle to this beautiful hacienda/ ranch style restaurant where the food was great and FIFA was playing. we then left the restaurant where our horses, a guide and Gerald were waiting for us. The horse back ride was about 2 hours and was gorgeous and peaceful. With the end of the day trip concluded, we were brought back to the city by Gerald and dropped at our house by 6 pm. The day was perfect and turned out to be a bucket list trip for my wife and I. I would highly recommend Takiri travel tours, the Hike and Horse as well as ask for Gerald as you guide as he was awesome.
