About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- William F0 contributionsGreat tour once logistical issues figured out.Had a rough start with this tour. It seems that the tour company changed. The day before, I was trying to figure out where I would be picked up. Eventually, I got a response to be at the main square at 8:15. When no one was there by 8:30. Texted, and they said it would be 5 minutes. Then two different guys called me, so it wS confusing. Eventually, an hour later, Moises arrived, and from there on, it was great. Moises was personable and explained many things I saw. Lunch was good and a gorgeous national park.Written April 28, 2024
- ggohring0 contributionsA Perfect Day HikeThis was a great tour of Las Cajas. There is so much to see in the park with breathtaking lakes, streams, and rivers. Camila and Bernicio were young, knowledgeable, full of energy, professional and tailored the tour to our needs. Our wish was for a healthy pace with only a few small patches of slightly technical trail. It was a perfect day and our guides did not disappoint. From the start of the adventure I felt as a friend rather than a customer. I recommend this tour.Written December 4, 2022
- cmike65780 contributionsAmazing ExperienceBreathtaking experience and I would definitely recommend others to book this tour. The weather was unpredictable so it's best to dress in layers. Moses was a great tour guide and I enjoyed the hike.Written November 18, 2022
- Passenger388815619690 contributionsBeautiful experienceAlthough weather was not on our side, we had the best possible experience I’d say. Our guide Alejandro as well as the woman driving were extremely friendly. Due to issues with our pick up Alejandro even jumped in as a guide and did the tour just with my friend and me despite his only day off. He was very knowledgeable, kind and we never felt like in a hurry. Would definitely recommend the tour — along with Alejandro !!!Written October 7, 2022
- M257JBj_rgenh0 contributionsAmazing trip with an exellent guideI visited the Cajas National Park together with Alejandro Espinoza , he is a very experienced tour guide and a smart and friendly person in one. I really enjoyed this dayWritten October 2, 2022
- edw1770 contributionsCajas a beautiful NPI went as a half day trip from Cuenca with Andres. He was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. The park itself is very beautiful and definitely worthwhile to visit. But half a day does not do it justice!Written February 24, 2020
- Jochen K0 contributionsFamily-friendly operator providing great valueEl Cajas, its landscape and wildlife are simply amazing. Even on a cloudy and foggy/ rainy day it was so enjoyable to hike there. This experience was perfectly complemented by Andres' (the guide) in-depth knowhow about all the plants and animals. We ate little flower blossoms, rubbed inconspicuous looking plants in our hands and smelled their unexpected scents, and listened to birds' voices Andres attracted with recorded voices on his mobile phone and carry-on speaker. Also he was very patient with us as with our baby girl in the carrier we were a little slower. For families Deep Ecuador Travel definitely is the top recommendation as they were the only ones to accept kids from 6 y/o (the age of our boy).Written February 20, 2020
- petersen10 contributionsMrAndres picked me up at hotel in Cuenca to go to the Devils nose train. Professional knowledgeable and patient he was a very nice driver. I used a walker and he assisted this wonderfully. The ruins were not visited on the return trip as it was quite foggy. At no time was I concerned regarding his driving. I would recommend him highly.Written February 13, 2020
- Elias_Rovielo0 contributionsWhat an amazing tour!As this is my last Andean country, I seriously thought if this tour would be worth it, the time spent to see the Andes mountains, forest and lakes. I'm glad I didn't hear my mind! The tour has incredible trails around a lagoon with birds and flowers, then we went further up the high mountains to see high altitude lagoons with the reflection of the sky in them, unique high altitude forests and a lot of history. It has a great lunch included in the tour price. The travel agency is punctual. The car is comfortable and new. The full day tour consists of door to door transportation and 4 stops, they are: 1) First lagoon and complete lap around it; 2) The highest top of the park; 3) Another lagoon with a walk in the only high altitude forest; 4) Restaurant with lunch included; The tour guide and driver was the excellent Andrés León and he is one of the agency's owners. He is extremely skilled and cultured. He takes great pleasure in being in contact with nature, explains in detail the flowers and plants with botanical data, has electronic devices to call the most varied birds in the park, patient, attentive and a great driver and photographer. He's a happy guy! My tour was not private. A Canadian couple accompanied us.Written February 10, 2020
- williambN8934AY0 contributionsPure awesomeness! We had an excellent time on the trek through Cajas, loaded with beautiful views of the mountains and vast diversity of plant and animal life. What made the experience so great was our extremely knowledgeable and friendly guide Andres Leon!!! He put so much extra effort into teaching us about the history of the area and all of the really cool intricacies of the biodiversity and symbiotic characteristics of the plant life. One of the best hikes I’ve made , I would highly recommend this place to everyone!Written February 8, 2020
- YuchenZ160 contributionsAmazing tour of El Cajas and friendly & knowledge guide!I had a tour of El Cajas with Andres. We started with a hike around a lake at a lower altitude in the National Park before advancing to a higher peak for an overview of the park. We also stopped by a smaller lake with Polylepis forest before lunch. Food was also amazing, best among all the meals I have had during day tours in Ecuador! I'd highly recommend.Written February 4, 2020
