What to Expect
Your relaxing day exploring the Andes begins with pickup at your hotel in Cuenca. Find a comfortable seat in the tour vehicle and enjoy the scenery on the ride to Alausi, where you'll board the Devil's Nose train, built in 1899. Get your camera ready to snap stunning photos during the descent down the near-perpendicular mountain face along dozens of switchbacks.  Continue down the Pan-American Highway, listening to in-depth commentary from your guide on the region's history and culture. Arrive in Ingapirca to explore one of Ecuador's most important archaeological sites. Follow your guide on a tour of the site's highlights, including the courtyards, terraces, and a elliptical platform known as the Sun's Temple. Learn much more through a guided tour than you would exploring on your own.

The Devil's Nose train was fun and the views were fantastic. Make sure your seats are on the right side (as you face the engine) of the old wooden train car. The village at the bottom was interesting, with a wood burning oven and fresh hot bread, a demonstration showing how
