This tour is incredible and the view is astounding. A very good and unique experience for someone always staying inside city. A good chance to admire the mother nature in close distance. Also,our guide Christian is also very professional.

We booked this tour through Viator, which was very easy and straightforward. From the time of booking, Cuenca Bestours was immediately attentive, giving all necessary information and making arrangements for pick-up, etc. We booked this tour months in advance, and in the tour details they request one to send them a confirmation email a couple days before the tour, just to make sure everything is good to go. I liked the communication and attention to detail. No surprises. Our guide, Sebastian, was great! He answered all of our questions related to the tour, Cuenca, and Ecuador in general. He even gave us advice for the different locations we will be visiting during our travels. Sebastian was extremely knowledgeable about everything, we learned so many interesting things in the 7-8 hours we spent with him. We had lunch at this awesome restaurant that is also a museum (and you can do a half-day tour just for that). Great vegetarian options, great vibe. We finished the tour feeling happy, wishing Sebastian could be our guide for the rest of Ecuador, and wishing that we could stay in Cuenca much longer.

We spent a lovely 4 hours with Flavia and her aunt, exploring a local market, buying ingredients, and preparing and eating a tasty and generous lunch of pollo seco and rice with all the typical accompaniments. Both have a wealth of knowledge about local recipes and ingredients and enthusiastically shared their tips and “secrets”. Be sure to ask Flavia’s aunt for her “green garlic” seasoning hack!

My guide was Adrian and he was fantastic. Super knowledgeable, made great recommendations, and frequently asked about my preferences. The park was as amazing as billed.

This exceptional tour was the highlight of my long weekend in Cuenca. The Caja Parque is beautiful. I never would have seen the beautiful sites and gained knowledge without Pedro. Unbelievably a positive experience

We absolutely loved the market shopping, participating in cooking locro de papas (potato soup), seco de pollo (chicken), rice, and several accompanying dishes. And we had the choice of English or Spanish which we loved because we wanted to practice Spanish. We learned so much about the city and culture as well from our guide and the cooking instructor, in whose home the class was hosted. We highly recommend this experience!

My friend and I went today on the four-hour hike (half-day tour) in the park. Fortunately the day was clear, sunny, a bit windy, and with beautiful views. Eddy, a marvelous guide, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the plants, fauna, history, and the geography. The National Park, about a 45-minute drive from Cuenca, is a beautiful, very large protected area with many lakes and vegetation. We felt our hike was adequate to see the majority of the diversity. The hike was moderately easy, but due to the elevation, I needed some time to acclimate. I highly recommend this tour for all nature lovers.

Excellent tour of the Cajas National Park. Our tour guide Adrian was fantastic. Highly recommend this half day tour.

The visit to the Ingapirac ruins will a highlight of our visit to Cuenca. It was a large part due to all the information given to us by our guide, Wilson. The trail was very accessible to a person with mobility issues. The site itself had wonderful views of the surrounding area.

Wilson was so knowledgeable and fun! We had a great tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to learn the rich history of this city!

We did a 6 day superior level trip from Quito to Cuenca after spending 2 weeks in the Galapagos. The drive through the Avenue of the Volcanoes is spectacular and provides an awesome counterpoint to the islands. We had 2 amazing guides, Lincoln and Sebastian. They provided extensive information about everything we saw and visited and were always ready to modify the trip to meet our needs and expectations. The accommodations were excellent and the food was always local and delicious. Booking the trip was easy and Javier was always prompt in getting back to us. We highly recommend Cuenca Bestours.

This is my third tour with Cuenca Tours and they again surpassed their previous tours. They were able to smoothly accommodate changes in plans due to delayed flights and each person we dealt with from their company was kind and generous with their time. We were taught and driven by tour guide Andres Leon, who we had requested from the year before. His knowledge on the history of the places we visited was wonderful, and he went out of his way to ensure the experience for each of us was unique. His love for his country was uplifting and we are grateful to him for all he shared. ( including his choice of lunch spots which helped to support local economy) .It was also lovely to go a bit off the beaten path and meet, listen and learn from local people which included the process of bean to chocolate, an art class from a local artist and participating unexpectedly in towns parades.
