About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 420cathib0 contributionsMagicalIncredibly varied, organized, gorgeous, delicious, fun, relaxing, and well-balanced tour. No two days or terrains are the same. One day you're hiking at over 5,000 meters in the snow and the next you are in the jungle. Given the tour descriptions and reviews, I expected beautiful hikes, but there were so many unexpected bonuses that really made this feel exceptional. Our group hiked a little ahead of the average pace, so we had an extra free day to pick a shared activity - we chose rafting and had an absolute blast! Enjoy moderately challenging days of hiking, gorgeous views, swinging at the end of the world, and too much delicious food followed by afternoons and evenings spent in down-right magical accommodations including hot springs, cozy fireplaces, majestic waterfalls, morning yoga, roof-top bars, and optional spa treatments. We had a small group of 6 amazing people and quickly became a little family unit with no shortage of laughs and inside jokes. Jorge (guide) and Lobito (driver/additional guide) were so much fun. Jorge's guiding style feels so effortless, fun, and relaxed, but is clearly backed by extensive planning and safety-mindedness. Jorge went above and beyond in too many ways to list here. Clearly a lot of thought is put into pacing and acclimatizing for the comfort of the travelers. It does not feel like a forced "tour". No one is inundating you with information, yet Jorge was able to answer any questions asked and clearly has a deep knowledge of the nature and culture of the country. Feels more like fun friends showing you around their favorite places. I cannot recommend this trip enough - one of the best weeks of my life.Written December 2, 2024
- Adam C0 contributionsEcuadorian Andes AdventureWow what an awesome hiking adventure with only moderate hiking experience required! Wonderful and varied scenery enjoyed each day showing the diversity of nature in Ecuador! Also amazing to see your start point after three days of hiking when nearly reaching Laguna Quilotoa (one of the highlights of the trip). In addition the accommodation was excellent and varied, some offering spa services or early morning yoga to help you relax and recover! But what made the experience was our guide Jeorge from Adventure Journeys who was knowledgeable, very experienced and passionate about our adventure. His expertise on plants, wildlife, food was endless 😁👏🙏 ! And his ability to know his group’s capabilities and pace the hiking was perfect, even when at an altitude of over 5000m!! Finally I have to say how fortunate we were to be in a great group of six people, likeminded, fun and fab company - thanks for making our adventure unforgettable 😁Written December 2, 2024
- MonmouthElizabeth290 contributionsAmazing EquadorThis was a fantastic trip. We were by far the oldest but were embraced by our new young friends and sped our way up and down and up and down the volcanoes . Our treks were amazing and fuelled by the most delicious ‘Equadorian sized ‘ lunches we were NEVER hungry!! Jorge was an amazing guide , full of enthusiasm, energy and fun . Lobito the pilot never stopped smiling and was super fun too. ‘Ok’ !! Within a few hours we were a ‘team family ‘ ( wish we weren’t the oldies) and were in hot pools together, playing games, early morning yoga and super bonus rafting - thanks to our speed walking. We stayed in amazing places - adventure journeys - we have loved everything. Jorge is a star and made us feel very special. I was really sad to say goodbye.Written December 1, 2024
- R3333TPwojciechs0 contributionsBeautiful Ecuador! The trip itself was very interesting. Special thanks to David - our amazing guide tour who help us to understand his country and culture!Written November 29, 2024
- Mary O0 contributionsGorgeous GalapagosWe visited the Galapagos as part of a wider tour of South America - it was our first stop and it set the bar very high indeed. A particular shout out to our guide, naturalist Gabriel Salas Sanchez. He opened our eyes to the incredible beauty of the islands and gave us some unforgettable encounters with wildlife - snorkeling with sea lions, turtles and marine iguanas, seeing giant tortoises in the highlands and spotting blue-footed boobies and frigate birds overhead. Gabo was extremely knowledgeable and kind, very mindful of the different fitness levels within our group and has a great sense of humour. I can't recommend the Galapagos highly enough - it was the experience of a lifetime.Written November 23, 2024

- katarzynah9130 contributionsA wonderful trip around EcuadorEcuador is an amazing country🤗all points of the trip are very interesting☺️ Wonderful cities, mountains, volcanoes, jungle😎 Climbing Cotopaxi is a great experience. Staying in the jungle is another extraordinary experience. Our guide David is the best guide I've ever had. I've traveled to many countries and this is the first time I've seen such a well-organized trip😎 I think that Polish guides should learn from people like him. Thank you David for everything🥰 I can't forget about our very nice driver. Edgar, thank you for your help and safe journey🥰Written November 16, 2024
- HeidiP17750 contributionsAn incredible trekking experience in Ecuador. The most incredible trip. Well organised. Our guide Milton was fantastic, spoke great English, was very informative and entertaining. He ensured we were all happy and safe. Our driver Andreas was an excellent driver on very tricky roads. He was always smiling and helped with our very heavy bags every day. I can’t praise them enough. The trek itself was one of the best I have ever done.Written November 16, 2024
- tracypY7262HT0 contributionsA birthday to remember!!Absolutely recommend this trip. The views, the food, the guide Milton and his team and the overall experience were first class. - hannapC5604QW0 contributionsMemories, laughter, happiness, knowledge and safteyOn a trip where. I was far from home and everything I knew, Milton and Andres from Adventure Journey made me feel welcome, safe and worry free. From the safety of moving the group from place to place (both in bus and on foot) the knowledge they brought, the happiness they spread and the humour at which everything was met, made this trip truly remarkable. I will never forget and always be eternally grateful for the memories they afforded me.Written November 15, 2024
- josephrF915BM0 contributionsThree Islands in Seven Dayswent with friends from Zoo New England, Karen Ascencio was our guide. She was really knowledgeable and shared so much information. I wish I recorded everything she said. And she was fun to be with. She definitely made the trip memorable.Written October 30, 2024
- 954lorenb0 contributions12/10I had Karen as my tour guide and she was incredible! She was flexible with my group so that everyone felt empowered to participate, and she could answer every question we had about the wildlife and the local culture.Written October 27, 2024
- L4800TJduncanm0 contributionsGo direct to AE not through an agentI wish I knew this company had existed so I could have dealt with them direct rather than go through a frustrating agent in the UK. We had a wonderful guide in the Galapagos with Emma who was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable. The guides have to retrain every two years, a message for the rest of the world! Everything that wasn't 100pc was due to poor communication from the British agent. So go to these people direct!Written October 25, 2024
