About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- MDominiqueC0 contributionsExhilarating ExperienceWe drove about two hours, with Carlos C., our tour guide, from Quito to La Mitad Del Mundo, the equator. It was an exhilarating experience to actually be at latitude 0.00. Besides the equator monument, there’s a small indigenous museum, craft shops and restaurants. Definitely worth the visit.Written December 1, 2024
- Bobby312250 contributionsWorth seeing!!Went here on a small group tour. Very interesting! Nobody went there but myself. 14 of us in the group with more women than men. They all wanted to go shopping so I went by myself. The elevator wasn't working so I took many flights of stairs but, each floor had displays and was like a museum! Lots to learn about Ecuador! Once on top, what a beautiful view of the area and Quito!! Once back with the group I told them about it and most were sad they didn't go!Written October 19, 2024
- jekberg0 contributionsStunning views, and endless wildlifeThis hotel is about 12 miles off the main road, at the end of the road. The views are unbelievable. They have several feeders for birds and wildlife to attract them. You get a very knowledgeable guide to answer all your questions, point out birds, insects, and plants. All meals are included, and you get a full 3 course meal each time. While we are not huge bird watchers, we did enjoy and learn a lot. It is very remote, and secluded to really be in nature.Written October 17, 2024
- Becks280 contributionsA must do in Ecuador! What a beautiful experience! If you are a bird watcher, this is a bucket list item. If you simply love nature, this is a must do as well. We saw a million different birds. We saw a pair of toucans going in and out of their nest. And we got to feed colibríes out of our hands. Our guide was Gabriel who was exceptionally knowledgeable and nice. Highly recommended!Written August 10, 2024
- Philip_Marsh0 contributionsIt's Worth The Trip Just for the HummingbirdsI could have watched the hummingbirds all day, never mind the fact that you get the opportunity to feed them (and feel their tiny feet on your hand), Our day unrolled as follows: 06:20 Pick-up from hotel (the person that picks you up isn't your guide) 08:30 Arrive at the reserve 08:30-9:30 Breakfast Breakfast consist of: Cereal Eggs (fried or scrambled) Bread with honey or marmalade 09:45-12:30 5KM walk to the ridge and return 13:00-14:00 Lunch 14:30 Start journey back to Quito 16:30 Arrive back in Quito The walk to the ridge was OK but it wasn't great. Our guide spent most of his time with an older lady, who joined our party as 'an extra', who had been staying overnight. He also kept telling is about the birds that we could hear but were 'hard to see' i.e. we didn't see them. The opportunity to observe the hummingbirds, and feed them, though was something else and I'd visit again just to see them. On our return journey, to Quito, we were allocated to a minibus where again our group played second fiddle to a group who'd stayed the night at the reserve. Overall a fairly good experience but it could have been better.Written July 4, 2024
- wmurray95040 contributionsGreat side trip before our Galapagos trip.Great day trip before we left for the Galapagos. The hummingbirds were amazing and were all over us. The hike was not difficult and we saw some amazing scenery and flora/fauna. Our guide was excellent too.Written May 14, 2024
- SachieO10 contributionsEnjoyed a tourI received a message a day before from Liv Ecuador, I believe it’s a local operator of this tour, that tour is canceled due to not enough people. Then next day, the day I booked for, received another message tour is ongoing. I was confused and a bit upset about for such short notice as I planned to do something else already, but Heidi (sorry if I spell wrong) and Julio were great guide, speak good English and a lot knowledge! We had like two hours at Mitad del Mundo and it was enough time. To see Ecuadorian houses, chocolate museum (Good to know about Ecuadorian chocolate), beer museum, stamp on your passport were all included. I highly recommend to go up to the rooftop of tower, it’s also free. Lift was broken and needed to use stairs, though!Written March 1, 2024
- 72680 contributionsMust seeObviously this is a must see if you are in Ecuador. The neighborhood is very rough around the edges. The middle of the world city is like a small tourist enclave. Google maps takes you to the wrong location. But once you get to the traffic circle, you can't miss the place. The complex itself is a little bit over the top touristy. Of course there's nothing wrong with a place that caters to tourists, but I think a more technical / scientific / science-museum-like environment would have been more appropriate than a bunch of trinket shops. The price is cheap to get in and there are a few decent snack shops inside. A trip to the top of the tower is of course a must see, but don't expect too much of an impressive view from the top. The real beautiful view is often the distance and you can see it perfectly fine from surface level. After you visit this spot be sure to go next door Intinan museum and exhibit. That's where you will get a little bit more interesting albeit some not so accurate facts about the equator.Written December 8, 2022
- Baxpackers0 contributionsAmazing tourHad a blast on this tour. Guides where great! Whale watching was amazing. Tour was loads of fun. Good snack and lunch. Highly recommend.Written August 22, 2022
- Doguemommy0 contributionsOkOver 90 minutes to the island. The island is interesting but to say “poor man’s Galapagos” is a stretch. Best thing was whales we saw. Nice lunch fresh fruit and great banana breadWritten July 12, 2022
- Dana D0 contributionsAn amazing day! I want to go snorkeling again soon! 🏖🥰We had the best tour and guide that we have ever done a tour with! We had around 15 people comfortably on the boat. When we got close to the Isla de la Plata the whales were very active. The captain stopped the boat several times so we could watch and photograph them. Beautiful creatures! Then on to the Island for a great hike to see the blue footed boobies and other birds. The group was a mix of español and inglés and Adan took time to explain great information in both languages. The highlight of the day for me was the snorkeling. Adan took good care and guided me to wonderful areas to see the various fish, turtles and huge sting rays! I miss the island already 🥺 They served great snacks and fruit throughout the entire trip, and lunch on the boat consisted of delicious sandwiches and soda. I’m ready to go back already! And can honestly highly recommend their tour. The office location was easy to find, then a short walk to the boat.Written July 9, 2022
