Renting a bike from Biking Dutchman was the best way to experience Quito. The half day city tour was perfect! The views, history, cathedrals, shopping, etc. Was an amazing experience. Our guide Jorge was fun and informative. I recommend stopping at the main Cathedral and touring the inside. The rooftop hike had the best views of Quito!

This company is excellent. The 4 day ride was fantastic and covered a great range of riding. The food and accommodation were 1st class and all off the staff made the ride fun and informative.

This is the very best bicycling tour I've ever taken. We took a 2-day Cotopaxi/Chimborazo trip. The locations were stunning. The opportunity to get high up on Cotopaxi and Chimborazo volcanoes to observe the glaciers was excellent in itself, but then the cycling down each mountain was just amazing, traveling from the treeless paramo to the forest and farms below. Descending from 5000 meters to 2800 meters on a mountain bike is exhilarating and fun. We had a chance to visit an Inca archeological site along the way, too. Our guide, Jorge, was excellent, and our driver Patto, too! Highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves nature, mountain biking, mountain scenery and breathtaking descents on paths and roads.

Couldn't have asked for better. They definitely raised the bar on tour agencies for the future of my travels. The guide was very supportive in instructing us on how to ride the bikes, and handle the curves in the road. The food was incredible! The tour included water, tea, the most amazing veggie sandwiches and delicious homemade brownies at the end. I loved the view of the mountain, the pace of the tour, seeing the lagoon. Great experience for beginners!

We went on a 4-days tour and absolutely loved every second of it! The team was able to put up a trip for us in less than 48hrs and delivered the best value for money we could hope for. Highly recommend. The biking level is accessible and is not the only activity of the trip. There is also a lot of different cultural activities and quite some shuttling time if you're going to the Amazonas as well :) Thank you to all the team!

We had the most incredible time during our tour. We did the 4 day Cotopaxi-Chimbarazo-Banos- Misahuaii bike trip which combined downhill mountain biking with road biking. Roberto, our guide, was outstanding. He is knowledgeable about the diverse ecosystems, landscapes, and Ecuadorian cultures. Our trip would not have been as amazing without him. Patricio, our driver, was also so nice and got us everywhere safely and made nutritious lunches. I cannot speak highly enough about this tour and the tour guide, Roberto.

We did the 3-day Biketour and we can highly recomend that one! Amazing landscapes, humorous, friendly and helpful staff (Eric and Gabriel) nice food and accommodations! The activities as well the staff have definitely been a highlight during our travels in southamerica!

We did the three day tour taking in Cotopaxi, Quiilitoa and Chimborazo. Exciting, but safe mixture of amazing off road and tarmac largely downhill descents through stunning landscapes with some hiking thrown in. Good to know the support vehicle was always just behind us, but even us 60 plus year olds didn’t need it! Excellent insights from Erik and Gabriel into Ecuadorean life and culture. Efficient pick up from our hotel and delicious homemade picnics. In my opinion a must do trip for anyone visiting Ecuador.

Booked two 1 day trips with Biking Dutchman and so glad I did. First of all for anyone worried about not being fit enough the good news is there is a van that follows you and you can always hop in that if you find it too tiring. Secondly Erik and Mateo my guides both made it very clear that you can go as fast or as slow as you want, so don’t feel you need to be super fit and ride flat out. The phrase I heard a lot was, it’s your day so stop when you want rest as long as you want etc etc Conversely if you’re a regular bike rider there’s nothing to stop you going at your own speed! The roads themselves are either dirt tracks or paved roads, however in my experience they have picked roads that have little traffic so you wont be breathing in fumes As for the trips themselves I chose the Mindo and the Papallacta day trips The Mindo trip can be done as a 1 way trip if you’re planning on staying there and is a fun alternative route than sitting in a bus for 2 hours. Alternatively on the way back you can be dropped off at the Mitad del Mundo (centre of the Earth equator line) or just return with them to Quito. It’s a mix of paved and dirt tracks although the dirt track is very smooth. There is the optional extra ($5) of going to a hummingbird place along the way where you can feed them out of your hand. Worth doing only if you’re not staying in Mindo. The change in scenery as you drop some 1500m is amazing as are the views. The Papallacta is also a mix of dirt tracks and paved roads. The dirt tracks are rougher than on the Mindo trip but not a problem. The thermal springs are an optional extra and currently are $10 entry and $1 to rent a towel. Finally you ride on an old railway line through some tunnels which are fun. However I thought ‘Ah railway line, it’ll be flat’. Nope this is the Andes! It’s a gentle downhill for 4km to a bridge and then a gentle climb for another 4km back up the other side of the Chiche valley ( approximately)Again the scenery is spectacular and varied on this trip Overall I thoroughly enjoyed both days and would happily use this company again should I return to Ecuador.

This is a great job and took great care of us! They even sent me the recipe for their homemade empanadas when I emailed them about it! A ton of fun. Would highly recommend

The Biking Dutchman crew (Ceasar-driver, Roberto-guide, and Eric-administrator) opened our eyes to the beauty of Ecuador's landscape, culture, people and history while we mountain biked down mind-blowing active and inactive volcanoes, forever winding paved roads, and wide open gravel roads -- all with majestic views. Amazingly, those adventures were just the beginning. The crew guided us on a hike up Chimborazo to an elevation of 16,700 feet and two days later they were loading our bikes on local riverboats to explore the wonders of the Amazon basin.   The supportive and friendly Biking Dutchman crew was the glue that brought our Ecuadorian biking tour adventures together. They looked out for us at every turn, every meal, and every elevation! Thanks for overdelivering on our expectations. We look forward to our next adventure with the Biking Dutchman organization.

We did the 5 day tour. What an amazing trip. Make sure that you put this on your itinerary when you visit Quito. Jorge (the guide) Patricio (the driver) were amazing, great fun and had an amazing amount of knowledge between them that the were happy to share. The bikes were great and the riding was superb. Our accommodation and meals were excellent. We also enjoyed the company of Mateo who is new to the company and his customer service and enthusiasm will help the experience for all.

We found the Biking Dutchman on line, decided it ws for us. We booked into the 5 day tour. Oh my, this was an amazing experience. We could choose the level of accommodation we required, (we choose the upper level for a small extrs fee ). The bikes provided were excellent quality, our guide, Jorge was very impressive. His knowledge of Ecuador was outstanding. He was fun to be around. Our driver, Patricio, a fantastic driver, also fun and helpful. We were lucky to have Mateo, along with us, from the head office as well. He was extremly attentive, caring, professional and helpful. All three staff were really fun to hang around with. The scenary was stunning, Dont worry if you cant speak Spanish, Both Jorge and Mateo, spoke fluent English. I throughly recommend ths trip, you wont be disappointed, its an amazing way to see the beautiful Ecuadorian countryside.
