Luis was the best!!! He picked my son & I up from our hotel & then drove us all over Quito for an incredibly informative, exploratory city experience! When he found out my son loves chocolate - he asked if we’d like to add in chocolate tasting to our tour! Attentive & personable! I’d come back and repeat our day with Luis again! Highly recommend!

We had a great day seeing the tropical forest of Mindo. Our guide Marcelo had an amazing command of English, and was able to explain all sorts of plants, birds, flowers, and the geography of the place. We saw lots of birds, butterflies, orchids and other tropical plants. We also had a nice hike down to a waterfall, with a cable car back to our start. Marcelo's knowledge and enthusiasm for the area made our trip very special and we learned a lot about the area and about Ecuador during our trip. Meduardo our driver was very skilled and we felt comfortable with him at all times. Overall a great trip to get out of the city. Thank you Marcelo for a wonderful trip!

We started our day by realizing that we were at the wrong hotel for pick up. Our tour director was incredibly accommodating and waited over an hour for us at the correct hotel. He did not cut our tour short. He just spent more of his day with us than he would have if we had been at the correct place at the pick up time. He then spent even more of his day driving us back to our hotel, which was 40 minutes out of the way. Carlos was a great tour guide and did a great job of showing us the sites and giving us a lot of information about Quito, Ecuador, and the Mindo Forest. We especially loved the stop to see birds in their natural habitat and have hummingbirds land on our hand to eat. . All in all, it was a good day and we would recommend this tour!

Great tour! Our guide, Carlos, made this a great day! Nice hike in the forest. The butterfly sanctuary was both informative and beautiful. The bird watching was outstanding, seeing Toucans, brightly colored Tanagers, and many species of hummingbirds. Carlos identified each bird we saw. We had the experience of feeding the hummingbirds out of a cup in our hand! It was done safely, without injuring the hummingbirds. Highly recommended!

We were delighted with our tour to Mindo Cloud forest. Our guide Ximena was excellent. She picked up my husband and I at our hotel at promptly at 8:00. Since there were only 2 of us, we had choices as to how we would like to spend our day. We stopped at the falls where we were given a choice of difficulty for the hike. Ximena provided much information about the forest and pointed out several orchids and plants along the way. We proceeded to the butterfly conservatory, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. The choices were plentiful and the food delicious!! She then took us to a chocolate tour where we learned how chocolate was made and tasted many different kinds! We finished off our day at the hummingbird sanctuary which also had toucans and other birds. We were able to see and feed many different varieties of hummingbirds. Overall it was a great day. Keep in mind that these are the options we chose and others are available. It is not possible to everything in one day, the drive to Mindo is over 2 hours. Also note that each place you stop at has entrance fees that may not be quoted on the website, so bring extra cash. I highly recommend this tour.

Great time in Quito. Our guide picked us up and we went up the cable car to look over the city. What a view! Our guide was very interesting and knowledgeable. The we took a walking tour of the “Old town”. Great history lesson and great sites. Thanks for a great day….

What an excellent day! Guide Diana delighted us with her knowledge of the cloud forest and Ecuador today. We were able to spend extra time with the hummingbirds and to tailor stops to our energies and enthusiasms. The road from Quito is indeed steep and winding but we enjoyed the views and Diana's narrative throughout. The van was super nice and we also felt well cared for by our driver. Communications with the team both before and during the trip could not have been more timely or helpful. Highly recommend this venture to a fascinating and beautiful place.

Carlos was personable and so knowledgeable about the history of everything we saw. Our day before the Galapagos was well spent getting an overview of Quito.

Daniel was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and personable. Also a good driver. I think it would have been better to stay for a couple of nights.

We had a great day in the Cloud Forest. Luis was our guide. He asked us what we had an interest in seeing on our tour so he could get to it before the afternoon rain came. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all the things that we saw on our tour. When the rain started, he already had a plan to finish. The birds, wildlife, waterfalls and rain forest were amazing. Thanks for a great day.

We spent a very nice day with Camina. She was able to tailor our stops to focus on what we wanted to see and take advantage of the best weather and least busy stops. Really enjoyed both the butterfly stop and the hummingbirds!

The trip was booked for myself and a friend, two women traveling together. We had an excellent day, and it was a completely last minute booking (literally at 1130pm the night before and pick up was 8am the next morning) which is really impressive that they were able to accommodate us so readily. We were picked up at our hotel by our guide Wilson who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! We know absolutely no Spanish, and Wilson was a good choice for us. We felt safe and comfortable with him as two women traveling alone. Our guide was passionate about conservation and ethical ecotourism; it was clear he loves Ecuador and was excited to share it with visitors. He gave us many options for activities throughout the day and allowed us to customize to our tastes. It was a packed day! We ended up going to two reserves chock full of beautiful tanagers and hummingbirds, encouraged us to bird from the car and stopped several times to point out great finds. We enjoyed a cable car ride and a hike to the waterfall. Admittedly, we are not in shape so the hike was challenging for us but Wilson was very understanding and let us take many breaks. Waterfall was beautiful and worth the trip, and we saw two spectacular pale-billed aracari along the way. Afterwards we stopped for lunch at El Quetzal de Mindo and tried several new foods at the recommendation of our guide. We finished with a tasty chocolate tour, then back to Quito! I would recommend this trip for anyone visiting in Quito and if you get Wilson as your guide you will have a great time!

This was a wonderful, wide-ranging tour, led by our excellent and knowledgeable guide Andres. We hiked to the Nambilla Cascada waterfall, visited a magical butterfly preserve and enjoyed a delicious meal of locally sourced trout. But the best was yet to come, as we finished our day at an amazing bird sanctuary, where we saw many species of tanagers and toucans — and got “up close and personal” with multiple species of hummingbirds. I would highly recommend this tour. We had Michael R. as our tour guide and not only was he incredibly knowledgeable but he went above and beyond for my husband and I. We were saw many hummingbirds, walked to the waterfalls, had a cute little lunch surrounded by birds, swam in the river, and did a chocolate tour. Such a special day! My recommendation is to wear hiking shoes if you go up to the waterfalls, bring lots of bug spray bc if not you will be eaten alive, and if not in good shape reconsider walking the waterfalls since my husband and I are in good shape and had to stop multiple times to catch our breath (especially bc of the altitude). Over all would give this a 10/10 .

We spent a fun day with Hugo. He was very informative about the area and gave us latitude to create our own adventure. Basically, this trip takes you to Mindo and then you decide what to do there. We opted hot the cable car and waterfall hike followed by the butterfly habitat, the hummingbird viewing area and a chocolate tour. All were interesting. The only downside is that each had its own admission charge so basically the tour price includes only the transportation and the guide’s narrative and insight along the way. Overall, it was still worth it particularly because Hugo had so much to offer.
