I was a solo female traveller from the UK to the Galapagos Islands for six days in Nov 2023. Contacting Christian Nieves at Nature Galapagos (on the strength of reviews on this site) for his help organising my itinerary was one of the best decisions I've ever made! Christian responded to my emails professionally and promptly, took time to understand my budget, and built an itinerary around the flights which I had already booked which fitted in far more than I had expected to see and do in the time available. He arranged my accomodation (tourist class at my request which was spotless and much better than I had expected) and my breakfast and lunch most days. His guides met me at the airport, took me to my accomodations, picked me up every day exactly when he said they would for my tours. They put me on ferries, helped with my luggage, met me at the other side, organised taxis and got me back to the airport at the end of my stay. I spent three days on Santa Cruz and three on Isabela with different guided tours every day. I visited the tortoise ranch, explored lava tunnels, saw the twin craters, visited the Charles Darwin centre, snorkelled with sealions, rays, sharks, turtles and iguanas at Santa Fe island and Los Tuneles. I hiked up to Sierra Negra and on to Volcano Chico where the views were stunning. Christian even built in some free time for me to relax and explore the local towns and beaches. I am so grateful to him for his knowledge and expertise and for making my trip the very best experience. I highly recommend him. Thanks Christian!

        Highly Recommended!
Excellent trip organised by Christian! Great communication beforehand and I was met at each destination exactly as scheduled. Galapagos far exceeded expectations and I got to see all the wildlife that I hoped for. Diving was brilliant and guides were very experienced. Christian went above and beyond to help me then was a minor issue with food on one of the islands, so I felt really well looked after. I'd highly recommend booking with this company, and will definitely use their services if I visit again.

        Awesome experience!
Christian Nieves at Nature and Galapagos was, by far, the best tour guide we could have asked for. We, 3 older women, spent 8 days, 7 nights on the islands. The tour Christian organized for us was all we could desire. We were met at the Guayaquil airport, taken to our hotel and treated like royalty from then on. We stayed at Seaside hotel. Angermeyer Inn and Isamar hotels. They were all clean, safe, very nice. The Angermeyer was our favorite. Would definitely stay longer at this hotel. The tour guides were all so polite, spoke English, and helped us with problems we had. One of our group, left a special plug for her CPAP machine and it was delivered 2 islands later. Terrific service. Would give Christian a raise! Will use this tour company on our next trip. Thank you, Christian.

Bad quality of tour guide and communication
We had a island hopping tour including Santa Fe, North Seymour, Bartolome and Kicker Rick in San Cristobal. The tour guides they work with is not the same quality. Unfortunately the most important island for us to North Seymour and Bartolome we had a not professional tour guide. He is too lazy to climb up the mountain and just show us where to take pictures without giving any knowledge or information about the landscape and wildlife. Everyone is upset in the group, but when we reported to the travel agent, the next day with the same guide, he treated as very bad on purpose we can feel that.It is not very good experience. As the first trip to Santa Fe, the ship is too small for 13 people, the wave is also too big to go out. Few people vomit and my husband did also, we asked for one more towel on the boat, but they refused to give us. I don’t understand why is so hard. The guide is not nice for us, he just want to get the tour done, he didn’t share so much information and very strict about his rules. It was very terrible experience like a disaster for us. Also, the communication between agent and guides has problems. The car didn’t pickup us at the correct place in the morning, since I already gave them the right direction of our hotel. And double check the day before. The guide still went to the wrong place, and not even called us just left. We had not choice but to take a taxi by ourselves to catch the boat. Of course they refund us the cost, just annoying to have something happened like this. The last day, we should be pickup from the hotel to the airport. Again the guide with a car they called for us didn’t show up again. We don’t have time to wait them to arrange another taxi, but to go by ourselves. When I texted the agent about it, they only said we will check what’s going on. Until now, after 3 weeks we already came back home, they didn’t reply anything, not even an apology. The end of the trip they never ask how was it or anything. Please consider to book with other agent to arrange your tour. Their price is much higher than you book individually. And the quality is not the same as they promised.

        Excellent for a short visit
There are not many reviews on this company, so we were hesitant to book at first. I ran into some issues with reserving the wrong dates, and they were able to accommodate us without hesitation. We had someone waiting for us at the airport once we arrived in Galapagos. They took us from there to the first place we needed to be to catch the speedboat to the first island. This ride is extremely rough. I recommend taking some medication for sickness before this ride. Once we arrived at the hotel, check in was easy, even though the lady that checked us in seemed like we were bothering her. There was no elevator in the hotel, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. We did not get to see the Flamingo Lagoon as part of the package, but we were staying right across from it, so quite frankly this should not even be included in the tour because you can just walk there and see for yourself without a tour guide. They let us know what time to be outside the hotel for pick up for our tours. We did the Sierra Negra Volcano and snorkeling in Concha Perla. The hike to the volcano was challenging for us (low fitness level), but we managed to make it. I recommend taking good hiking shoes because the hike through the volcanic rocks is painful in regular shoes. I also recommend wearing a long sleeve shirt or plenty of sunblock because this is under the sun the entire time. Bring plenty of water. For the snorkeling, make sure you mention you want a lifejacket if you need one before the tour or else, they will not bring one for you. The following day we visited the wetlands in the morning. Our tour guide mentioned that we should have started earlier because the sun is very strong, but we were not given this option. The start is at 8am, but a 7 or 630am start of this hike would have been better. Bring an umbrella and sunblock as you do not have shade for majority of this hike. We chose not to hike to el muro de lagrimas because we were hurting from the day before (Sierra Negra Volcano hike) and opted for more time at the Galapagos turtles breeding center. In the afternoon we went to Tintoreras Islet. This tour goes very fast (wish we had more time there). This is the only place we saw the famous blue footed booby birds. Breakfast and dinner was excellent at the hotel. The chef is a very humble kind man and deserves generous tips. The following day, you leave early in the morning, and go on a very rough speedboat ride to Santa Cruz Island. We toured the Charles Darwin Center, visited the highlands and lava tunnels. All excellent tour guides! They provide instructions on where to be at and what time daily. We did not get to see tintoreras or penguins. Maybe it just was not the season.

70 and Fit Exploring Galapagos Islands
We planned a land trip with Nature Galapagos. Agent Christian was excellent, answered our many emails promptly. We chose our own land trip visiting major and minor islands (7 in all.) We chose mid range hotels--next time we'd choose better hotels who would serve us breakfast and coffee if we left for excursions at 6 a.m. Breakfasts were included in price. We begged for food, day #1, Santa Cruz. Daily boat rides were great--lovely on board lunches, and best guides. We hiked, we snorkeled.Sierra Negra Volcano, pouring rain, white out. Who leads hikes in torrential rain--and they left us behind? Kicker Rocks, snorkeling gear was broken (Wreck Bay dive shop.) Best hotel, Pimam Piro, Cristobal. Host Fernando, a class act. Ferry rides are horrendously awful--fly from island to island if you can. We liked planning our own dinners and exploring night life. Land tour offers so much more than a cruise.

Chris of Nature & Galapagos arranged Our entire itinerary. It was seamless and saved us a significant Amount of time, effort and money arranging our family, land-based tour of Santa Cruz and Isabella . Most importantly As well as the Quito area. All the activities were great, We learned a lot and we never had a dull moment throughout the trip. I would highly recommend Rather than arranging a family trip to Ecuador on your own to work with Nature and Galapagos.

Great place to see the giant tortoises 🐢
I took the bus from Puerto Ayora to Santa Rosa. The bus leaves from the market which is about a 10 minute walk out of town and costs €1. When you arrive in Santa Rosa it is the last stop on the bus and you walk straight ahead. There is a turning on the left which is clearly signposted to the tortoises. You will then reach a point where you can turn left for the Rancho Primicias Tortoise place which is about 700m and right for El Chato which is 1.5km. I had planned on going to Rancho Primicias but read the sign wrong. The walk to El Chato from the sign was 25 minutes and from the bus stop 45 minutes. Rancho Primcias would be a lot closer to walk to. You have to have a guide to show you round which costs $10. You basically follow a path and do a loop, passing the giant tortoises. It is great to be so close to the tortoises and waych them move. On site there are also 3 lava tunnels that you walk through. I could stand up fully in them, some I have heard of are very low but these ones were not. It is possible to borrow wellington boots for the walk but it was not necessary when I was there and wore trainers. There is a restaurant on site which looks nice and you sit overlooking the area the tortoises are in, however I did not eat there. All in all a good experience. I understand that there are also lava tunnels at the Rancho Primicias site too. Most people do this with an organised taxi from Puerto Ayora, this costs $50 and the driver gives you 45 minutes wait time. You still have to pay your entrance fee on top of that. Doing it independently is lovely as you pass a lot of tortoises on the walk in but it is a long walk in the heat!

Wonderful experience to the Galapagos Islands
We had a wonderful trip and the tours were great. Nature Galapagos & Ecuador was very helpful during the trip, to improve the communications with the guides when asked. We LOVED the snorkeling and giant turtle / cave activity.

A Great Place to See the Tortoises in the Wild
This is a great tour. It was quite rainy the morning we did the tour, but they have mud boots that they make available to you which was great. They take you through a really cool lava tube and then you get to walk around among the tortoises, and there were LOTS of them. We had a guide who was very knowledgeable. It was a great tour. Would highly recommend.

My daughter and I took your Kicker Rock excursion from San Cristobal on May 24. This tour was outstanding, not only for the wonders we saw and experienced but also the boat crew led by the amazing the guide Sofia. She made a great experience even better if that is possible, and the crew on the boat were terrific. I was hesitant about doing this tour but am so glad I did and that is thanks as much to the team on board as it was the extraordinary sights we saw. Thanks for this and a special thanks to Sofia our guide for the day!

I am in relatively good condition for a 75 year old man and I had little to do with planning this expedition since it was mostly done by a friend. Therefore I really didn't know what to expect. What a wonderful surprise this trip was for me. The attention to detail was evident through out - transportation, guides, accomodations, food and side trips. I highly recommend using Nature Galapagos & Ecuador to anyone looking for this kind of adventure. Just don't expect much downtime unless you ask for it.
