    A beautiful night in Quito
We had Irene as our guide and it was an amazing experience. Her knowledge of Quito was vast and there was no shortage of laughs. Would recommend this excursion and Irene as your guide to anyone!

    Irene is a star!
Irene our guide was excellent. The best guide we have had so far on our trip through Peru and Equador. Extremely informative and made the whole day really enjoyable. Her English is excellent and by the end of the tour she felt more like a friend than a tour guide. Definitely recommend her.

    Enjoyable trip
Plenty of time to explore site. As well as monument, a number of exhibits, cafes and shops. Great means of transport there and back via converted ex city tram. Andrea our guide - full of energy and enthusiasm. Just to be aware this tour does not take you to actual latitude 0. ( This spot is about 240 metres away ( not discovered until fairly recently with advent of new technologies)). The tour is to exhibition park surrounding and including the monument originally thought to represent latitude 0 .

    Cotopaxi & Quilotoa lagoon
A fantastic day tour learning about the volcanoes of Ecuador. Irene was knowledgeable and had the group engaged throughout the day. We were incredibly lucky to have blue skies and a great view of the big man, Cotopaxi. Quilotoa lagoon was stunning, and we had a lovely late lunch at one of the local restaurants. Thanks for a great day, Irene ☺️

    Marvelous Sights and beautiful stories
The tour was wonderful! We had a great tour guise called Irene who was very funny and full of interesting stories about the landscape of Ecuador, the animals and the people as well as the history. She told us a wonderful indigenous fairytale about the vulcanos which was beautiful! And we could clearly see really good Cotopaxi and Quilotoa Lagune. Thank you for the great day!

If you’re on the fence about this, book it!!!
This tour exceeded my expectations. To be honest I just went because my sister wanted to go. Boy am I glad that I did. Andrea was a fabulous guide who went over and above to answer questions and accommodate everyone’s needs as best as she could. She made it fun and shared a lot of knowledge. There were things included in the tour that I wasn’t expecting, but was very happy we’re included. From previous reviews I thought we were going to spend most of our time on the bus. There was a lot of travel time, but there were enough stops and bathroom and snack breaks to keep us happy. I can’t say enough about this tour. It was fantastic.

    Great Tour and fantastic Guide
The tour was very well organized and both the Cotopaxi and the Quilotoa Lagoon were very scenic and impressive. Our tour guide Irene was the best guide we've ever had. She was super friendly, competent and helpful. She had a lot of information about everything we saw throughout the tour and about Ecuador in general. That day she has passed on her enthusiasm for her country to each and everyone of our travel group…

Great tour, great guide (Thank you Irene!)
We were the only couple (of the 14 in the tour bus) that booked half day - so we ended up with a full day tour. Cotopaxi was impressive even with clouds moving in to cover the snow capped peak. We saw some wild horses enjoying the balmy day. There were plenty of stops for snacks and restrooms, but no wasted time anywhere. The drive through the uplands to get to the Quilotoa Lagoon was amazing - I never would have seen this area otherwise, so that alone makes this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The sun peeked through long enough to allow the lagoon to show off her colors. Irene, our guide, was full of personality, knowledge, and definitely added a lot to the experience.

Irene is the best tour guide ever!
The day trip to cotopaxi and quilotoa is one I will never forget. From beginning to end our tour guide Irene was telling us cool facts, amazing information and teaching us new words in quichua. It was absolutely amazing and I honestly mean it when I say Irene is the best tour guide I've ever had.

    Great value
Irene was INCREDBLE. Bilingual, and funny in both languages! She made everyone laugh and have fun the entire time. My favorite tour guide of all time. It was great to see both Quilotoa and Cotopaxi in the same day.

    Beautiful two-in-one highlight tour.
This was a great trip condensing two highlights in one day. Javier was an excellent tour guide who seemed passionate about his country. You don’t do any hiking at Cotopaxi and if you are lucky you can see some of the summit. You have the option to do a little bit of hike at Quilotoa. Another girl and I decided to go near to the bottom of the crater since we had extra time and it was a tough good trek. I did this on my last day in Ecuador and absolutely glad I went.

Church tour at night / tour en la noche de las iglesias
Our guide was Irene. She picked us up from the hotel very punctually. We did the tour of the churches, where she explained to us about history, tradition and culture, it was very informative. We feel very safe all the time. Irene went above and beyond being a guide, we had a laugh and she made the experience very special. Irene speaks very good English and that helped us a lot to enjoy the tour. We highly recommend Irene to be your guide in such a beautiful place.

The Otavalo and Cuicocha trip with Gray Line Tours enabled me to see lots of different places in just one day - a perfect option when you are limited in time - but maybe a bit exhausting when you prefer slow travelling.
All in all, it was a great trip for me - also thanks to our tour guide Francisco who did not only share his knowledge with us, but was on top of that an amazing photographer. Gracias por el día!

My husband and I had an incredible time on this tour! We started with a smooth hotel pick up and got to spend the day with other fascinating travelers. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and spoke English very well! I loved our stop to try bizcochos and enjoy some coffee and tea. We also got to learn the history of the indigenous culture. At the market, you will find typical Ecuadorian souvenirs. If you are looking to buy, make sure to negóciate the price!

After the market, we had a delicious and inexpensive Ecuadorian lunch. Overall, the tour was informative and gave a great view of the country!

Our guide, Adriana, was very informative, friendly, and helpful. I loved the presentation that Mercedes gave us about her typical dress. She looked lovely! The best part of the tour was the presentation by the musicians in Cotacachi. The music was wonderful! At our last stop, we enjoyed the shops of leather goods.

We booked the tour going to Otavalo market and we didnt expect we would be climbing up the base of a mountain in Cotacachi National Park.

If you have a slight altitude sickness you will find climbing up the mountain a challenge specially for older folks.

But the view of the lake and the mountains were beautiful/

On the first day of 2019 , I took this tour with guide Carolina Mora.

The itinerary did not go as planned as the first stop was closed due to New Years day; Carolina managed to re-arrange the itinerary and quick planning, saved the day.

Saw wonderful sights and got useful commentaries.

We were given a nice lunch and the day turned out to be great.

Carolina had a long day , + 12 hours, but throughout the day was always helpful and cheerful.

She also helped with taking photos and knew how to use different cameras and features; an added plus for this solo traveller.

I would definitely recommend Carolina M. as a great guide and the tour itself was great value, considering the time and distance involved.

If I have only one comment, it is the availability of clean acceptable , bathroom facilities in Otovalo; but this was not a Grayline issue per say.

Best regards Carolina,

Henry

Hotel pick up and drop off was on time and very well organized, tours were amazing with great knowledgeable guides, organized also other local guides to learn about the culture and indigenous of the country, loved every tour we did and had a great time, always the guide suggested amazing places to eat and explained in detail everything on the road, this is one of the best ways to get to know the country and learn about the amazing history of it, there are secret places that for a foreigner would be impossible to know along with the history

Otavalo Market was fantastic and taking a private tour allowed as much time as we needed at the market plus all the other great stops we visited! Our guide, Alex, is from Quito so he was a wealth of information on everything and gave us a fantastic day! Highly recommend this tour, especially with Alex! Great time!

I travelled with my partner and my mum. The tour is very nice and you get to see 2 good markets. We stopped to have breakfast and some traditional sweets and cheese from the Imbabura region.
The best part of the tour was Juan. He is an excellent guide and explained everything in 2 languages so my husband could understand. Very attentive and funny. We all agreed that from the 3 excursions we did, he was the best guide.
Thanks Juan!
