About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 271juergenp0 contributionsAmazing private tourThis individual tour was fabulous. Our guide and the driver were on time for the hotel pick-up in Santiago. Clean van, nice ride to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. The guide gave us a lot of information and we walked some intersting ways. Lunchbreak at the fishermen's area with delicious seafood. In our opinion worth the money and really recommendable.Written November 6, 2024
- stoneax50 contributionsBasic park, 1-2 hours wait for each attractionVery basic and pathetic snow park. Fee to enter and need to line up from 1-2 hours to be able to use play attraction. Ski pretty basic (not a ski park).Written July 12, 2024
- DianeD450 contributionsLuggage Storage is pricey!Luggage Storage is located on Third floor Departure level of International Terminal 1 at True Star luggage service. Expensive, at rates of $US 16 per day, per suitcase!! There is no luggage storage in Domestic Terminal 2 but it is only a 300M walk between terminals.Written February 22, 2024
- Jane F0 contributionsWarning Santiago, Chile Airport ScamWe had prepaid Transvip shared shuttle. Entering terminal, a well dressed friendly man, with badge was expecting us, he walked us out, directing us across the road where a young man, wearing a badge was waiting. He walked us to car, despite our suspicions he reassured us. When driving he said we had to pay 2$ for parking fee, he drove into open parking lot, a man approached car, and requested 2$ parking fee by card. We queried, & refused repeatedly to pay, Eventually driver took us back to airport. Always check authority, credentials do not be swayed by polite badge wearing official types.Written February 4, 2024
- 361clintr0 contributionsSantiago Airport, the worstIf you have a late evening flight just know you can’t check in until 3-4 hours before your flight. Thinking we could check in and head to the lounge for the 12 hour wait didn’t work out so well. When the check in finally opened it took 1.5 hours to get though the process and that’s being the first ones in line and in Sky Priority line. We finally get to the lounge, looking to relax in a more comfortable place. Well… The Sky Team lounge that looks beautiful on the airport website is worn out and disgusting especially since it’s so new. This is the worst airport I’ve ever been through and I’ve been through many. Just wanted to share what you might expect.Written February 2, 2024
- awolracing0 contributionsKiller session at Valle Nevado!Absolutely wonderful time! Fresh snowfall left a thick coat of powder. Most of the runs were open and fun. Please remember that this is not France or Switzerland or the USA. Black, or so called expert runs are intermediate in any of the above. With no trees and no lines you can get a serious ski / snowboard session in between 0900-1700. I was there in the center of high season and there were almost no lines to speak of. The lack of trees and power tripping mean giant slalom types will absolutely love hammering these runs at top speed. Plenty of fun cornices to catch air off and there was fairly deep powder on the landing side which felt super safe. Cheap lift tickets, no lines, cheap rental gear make this a fun place if you’re hanging south of the equator. While I would not make a trip here over any of the aforementioned I would hit the slopes if I were Jones’n for snow during the summer months in the northern hemi!Written July 26, 2022
- bigglesedwards0 contributionsBeware scammers at Santiago airportThere was chaos in arrivals & we were approached by an official looking chap who had all the correct id, had our name on his list & knew which hotel we were transferring to; there were 3 'assisting' us - they had a very smart mini bus. They insisted we had to pay a "road poll charge". To cut a long story short - they got our debit card & withdrew two lots of £200 from our account. With the help of the lovely staff at the Intercontinental Hotel we managed to put a stop on our card pretty quickly. Our Bank was not surprised at what happened - they said Santiago Airport is notorious for this type of activity. So be very sure your taxi or transfer is official - be vigilant to the point of rudeness if necessary!Written March 5, 2020
- M7072BVkevinm0 contributionsVery Frustrating ExperienceTwo days before our tour we were notified by Trip and Tour Turismo that they no longer work with Expedia. We had booked the tour thru Chase Travel (via Expedia), and T&TT were to cancel the reservation so we would pay again after the tour. Little did we know that we would be overcharged for the experience because the Chase Travel rate is higher than the direct Trip and Tour Turismo rate listed on their site. We requested a refund for the difference weeks ago and this has still not been resolved. As for the tour itself, unfortunately our guide had to cancel on us the day of due to issues arising from the demonstrations in Santiago. However we still went on our Colchagua Valley trip with the T&TT driver. The driver was very courteous, but spoke limited English. So there was no tour to speak of from T&TT except for being driven to Colchagua and taken to 3 vineyards, and one vineyard tour which we had to pay out of pocket for. Instead of paying the very high price for this tour, I would recommend that you rent a car from Santiago and drive to Santa Cruz yourself. You can also take one of several buses that go to the Colchagua Valley which are very reasonably priced. In Santa Cruz you should be able to use Uber or hire a taxi to the vineyards.Written March 1, 2020
- Mac's G0 contributionsTour CancelledOur tour was cancelled on us the night before our ship docked and our luggage had been picked up. Only 2 of us were booked. Had to scramble to get new luggage tags and obtain bus transportation to the airport, which is 2 hours away. We spent 10 hours at the airport waiting for our flight and missed seeing anything in Chile.Written February 24, 2020
- CaptureD C0 contributionsJorge & Daniela are fantastic guides -organized a wonderful trip!We hired Daniela & Jorge to take us to Vina del Mar/Valparaiso on Christmas Day - what dedication and work ethic on their part! - they were fantastic, despite the fact that they had to work on a major holiday! As someone who has translated into another language for others, I was so impressed by Daniela's ability to translate and narrate during the entire full-day trip - believe me, it's incredibly exhausting! We learned so much about Chile, its history and its people that day! And we're so grateful for Jorge's driving! As well-seasoned world travelers, we feel Daniela & Jorge are a great guide team and we highly recommend them to others!Written February 13, 2020
- JLHarris10 contributionsWonderful day of wine with airport transferOur day spent with Daniela and Jorge was the perfect way to spend our last day in Chile. They planned a perfect day of wine touring the Casablanca region that allowed us to enjoy our final day and then get us to the airport with perfect timing to catch our red eye international flight. Daniela was very informative and personal and Jorge was the driver who also assisted in arranging everything. The price was reasonable and a much better value than the small group tours along with the flexibility of getting your luggage and selves to the airport. The wineries we visited had a wide range from biodynamic and organic to a paired wine/lunch coursing (not included in price) and a few glasses overlooking the valley at a hilltop winery. All of the wineries were big and catered to larger groups, but we didn’t mix much with them and the tour felt private despite other people being present. Highly recommend.Written January 25, 2020
- RRHirsch0 contributionsExcellent first visitOur first visit to Chile. Daniela was perfect. Met us in Valparaiso and customized our tour and trip to Santiago exactly as we wanted. Very knowledgeable and pleasant. Highly recommend. Thank you.Written January 25, 2020
- IvanJudy0 contributionsA Hidden GemAfter searching through a myriad of Valparaiso tours from Santiago, Chile, we stumbled upon a real gem. The primary complaint in reviews of other tours to Valparaiso/ Vina Del Mar was the restaurant that was used for lunch. Our tour was private, and comparably priced to the other shared tours we saw on Viator. My husband and I were picked up at our hotel in Santiago by Daniela Fortes (guide) and Jorge Denzer (driver) who are partners in the company. Daniela was delightful, giving commentary throughout the 11/2 hour trip to Valparaiso. By the time we arrived, we felt as though we had known her for years. We walked the downtown area before taking the funicular to the top of the city. This is where most of the residents of Valparaiso live, with shops and restaurants. As we hiked the narrow, winding streets festooned with beautiful murals, Daniela provided commentary on many of them. She explained that they were painted by local artists and that they are constantly changing. Many were political statements, but others depicted the Chilean culture. As lunchtime neared, we had many choices, and decided to eat at a beautiful modern restaurant that had a set lunch menu (3 courses, $10.00). There was a sculpture of Don Quixote inside and the entire staff spoke English. The food was delicious. We continued on to the ocean resort city of Vina Del Mar & walked the bridge, but our favorite was the quaint Valparaiso! “Trip and Tour” exceeded our expectations.Written December 24, 2019
- TruthNoBS0 contributionsExcellent service, people, and toursWe had been to Santiago a couple of years ago and this time wanted to visit some wineries in the Colchagua valley. I contacted several companies, some who months later have not bothered to reply, along with a few that would not accommodate my preferred wineries. I reached out to Trip and Tour Turismo and Daniela answered all my questions and we arranged our tour to the Colchagua Valley. As we were disambarking from a cruise ship in San Antonio the prior day, I also arranged for a private transfer to the hotel with a stop at a winery (and left it to them) along with a lunch stop and requested we be at the hotel around 3 p.m.. We left the ship and our guide Viviana was waiting for us at the appointed time. After a stop at Concho Y Toro and lunch we arrived at the hotel at precisely 3 p.m. I still am amazed at how they timed that so perfectly. The next day we were picked up at 9, again the lovely Viviana was to be our guide, and visited 3 wineries as requested. Our driver Andy was very safe and courteous. Finally, after not hearing back from another company that I had made a tenative reservation to take us to the airport 2 days later, I again contacted Daniela who was able to arrange our airport transportation. By reading thru Trip Advisor you will see there are a lot of companies that offer wine tasting tours. Some apparently are not interested in one's business since they don't respond, others want to fit you in their predefined format. I highly recommend Trip and Tour Turismo - they are a small, responsive company that provides excellent service and at a very competative price point. The next time we are in Santiago I will not need to spend any time researching tour companies as it would be hard to beat this one!Written December 11, 2019
