About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- corib3650 contributionsPersonal, fantastic tour!!Our wine tour was an absolutely amazing experience and the highlight of our Santiago trip. It was highly customized and flexible, and clearly Patricia cared deeply about the quality of the trip. She made sure we had special experiences, like taking us to the weekly street market to buy goods and sharing desserts with us. She was also a fantastic translator and gave us recommendations for the rest of our trip! I loved talking to her. Don’t miss this experience!Written March 15, 2022
- Maureen C0 contributionsOutstanding Tour!We were fortunate to have 3 days with Patricia touring Santiago, the Casablanca Valley and Valparaiso. Santiago came alive to us as we learned about the history, culture and food of this great city. Her recommendations for things to do when we were on our own were spot on as well. Her specialty however is the vineyards north of the city. She showed us 2 that we both organic and biodynamic - very interesting and the wine was fabulous! Highly, highly recommend!!Written March 4, 2020
- mordechais380 contributionsA very joyous day in SantiagoAlthough trip started one hour later that schedule (no fault of the guide, I reckon), she was very knowledgeable and friendly. The information on the food items in the two markets we visited (fish and fruit), the very tasty lunch in a very homey environment/ the vistas of the city - all were provided in a very lovely spirit. I definitely enjoyed the few hours I spent with your guide.Written March 3, 2020
- RAYAN A0 contributionsAmazing tourThe tour started off with a gastronomy class led by Chef Gerard who was super welcoming and always ready to share funny anecdotes and provide detailed information on local life and culture in Santiago and Chile in general. After walking through the local market and collecting some fresh produce for the cooking class we headed to the kitchen and prepared some delicious typical Chilean dishes in what was a truly unique experience. Afterwards I met my guide for the rest of the trip, Patricia, who was a very warm and friendly lady who does everything she can to ensure you enjoy the tour as much as possible. She took me for a lovely city tour of Santiago. The following morning we headed to Casablanca and stopped at 2 vineyards for some truly wonderful wine tours and wine tasting experiences and continued the drive up to Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar where we toured around the cities. Overall it was a delightful experience and I highly recommend this tour!!Written January 29, 2020
- ConnieS9600 contributionsGreat walking tour!We did a walking tour of Santiago with Patricia. She was a wonderful guide! She was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Santiago. She introduced us to many local food specialties that we enjoyed. Patricia also took us shopping for lapis lazuli and explained to us how to identify the best quality of it. She was very generous with her time and we enjoyed our time with her very much! Having her as our guide made our visit to Santiago special.Written July 6, 2019
- Peggy M0 contributionsA perfect day in the AndesWe came in a day early for a cruise, and wanted to see the Andes. We couldn’t have picked a better tour! Patricia was very knowledgeable about the area - everything from history to the vineyards to geology! She is very friendly and speaks excellent English. Our lunch was delicious and the wines chosen for the day were superb! Really a great day!Written February 10, 2019
- CroydonAllotmenteers0 contributionsThe perfect day trip to Casablanca and San Antonio valleys. We have just returned from our trip to South America, including three days in Santiago. As we only had one day in which to visit the wineries, my husband and I decided on a private tour. We chose Wine Wein Tours as Patricia seemed to offer the personalised tour we wanted. We were not disappointed! The two wineries she chose for us were perfect, so different but both small and intimate. Patricia picked us up from our hotel, and drove us to the Casablanca valley. All the journey she explained about each region we passed, not just about the wines, but about the history and geology of the areas. We started at Bodega RE in the Casablanca valley which Patricia said was different in that it retained the old production methods. She was certainly right, but I won't spoil it for anyone following us, it was special. The wine was exceptional, and the people kind and friendly. It really is a family business. We drove on to the San Antonio valley to Casa Marin winery, one of the longest established, run by a woman who has won many awards. Again, the wine was exceptional and we finished with a delicious lunch. On the way back we stopped to meet a lovely elderly indiginous couple who keep sheep for wool, and dye and spin their own wool. It was a wonderful day, thanks to Patricias knowledge and planning. She was great company.Written December 11, 2018
- Sylvia J0 contributionsPerfect last day with Patricia after a cruiseWe finished our cruise in San Antonio and were wondering what to do for our last ours before flying home from Santiago. Outside the terminal we met Patrica and she showed as as much as possible from here country, Casa Blanca, we had a wine tasting, she showed as where to eat the best sweets and finally we had a tour through Santiago de Chile. She knows so much about wine and the history of Santiago, we were all totally impressed. Patrica, if we ever come back to Chile only with you, thanks so much for this very special last day of our holiday.Written November 30, 2018
- Montyelder0 contributionsGreat day trips to valleys around Santiago for wine tasting and sightseeing!Patricia organized 4 days of delightful touring. The first day familiarized us with the city of Santiago. The next three days included excursions to valleys north, west and south of Santiago for wine tasting and sightseeing. All the wineries were excellent and unique. Plus it was great to see Chilean countryside and culture. Patricia is very knowledgeable and entertaining plus a delightful guide. I highly recommend Wine Wein Tours!Written October 1, 2018
- Penny H0 contributionsWonderful tour in Santiago regionOur hotel organised this tour with Patricia after we told them what interested us. My husband and I loved our day with Patricia tasting wine and exploring Valparaiso. Her knowledge of the city was amazing and we saw many really interesting and hidden parts of this exciting and energetic city. The winery she took us to was very good indeed and our lunch at the restaurant she suggested was equally good. Patricia is very knowledgeable about Chilean society, both contemporary and in the past, its history, politics and geography. We both felt that it was a great day of tourism. Thankyou Patricia and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.Written August 23, 2018
- jsjohnson650 contributions2 Private Tours with Patricia, Wine Wein TourI was fortunate that I could do 2 full day private tours with Patricia in my 5 day visit to Santiago. The first one was to Valparaiso, a comfortable 2 hour ride from Santiago to this picturesque port city with a lot of hills. She is so knowledgeable about Chile-- it's history, geography, arts/architecture, as well as current events. Her enthusiasim for Chile is contagious-- so much, in fact, that I booked a second day-long trip with her into the Andes. As she carefully maneuvered our way through 40 hairpin turns through the mountains, the scenery was spectacular! I recommend her services to anyone!Written February 11, 2018
- markhP1399WT0 contributionsExcellent tourOur guide, Patricia was very knowledgeable and helpful. The Casa Marin winery and adjacent village was beautiful. The restaurant was fantastic at the winery. gracious hospitality.Written December 11, 2017
- Dan S0 contributionsAmazing wine tasting and tour!Patricia took us on a full-day wine tour in Casablanca Valley. Her selection of wineries was great - each was very different and highlighted some unique approaches the Chilean vineyards are taking to producing wine. The staff at each seemed to know Patricia well and took really good care of us too. Along the way, Patricia educated us about Chilean history, how Casablanca Valley was formed, and answers a bunch of other questions we had about life in Chile - she's truly an expert at her craft and very knowledgable about many different topics. Toward the end of the trip, we asked if we could extend the day and visit Valparaiso as well. Turns out, she knows a ton about that city too, taking us a on an unplanned 2-hour walking tour which highlighted a bunch of the local architecture and history. Despite the delicious wine, the walk around Valparaiso might have been the best part of the day! I highly recommend booking a trip with Patricia - she's a fantastic guide and host!Written December 3, 2017
- nmmelancon0 contributionsWonderful day to special wineries in Maipo ValleyWe thoroughly enjoyed our day spent with lovely Patricia of Wine Wein Tours! Patricia is delightful, highly knowledgeable on wines and of course Chilean life. At times she knew even more than the tour guides at the vineyards as she had spent a year working at a very high end vineyard in Chile. I would highly recommend her service. She is fabulous!Written November 29, 2017
- Grace R0 contributionsDay TourWe went on a day tour with Patricia. She was on time and the day was absolutely fantastic - she went above and beyond what was expected. She really looked after us and her knowledge on Chile was next to none. We highly recommend Wine Wein Tours as Patricia is so helpful and kind and there was nothing that was too hard she helped us with all that was needed for the day. Thanks again PatriciaWritten June 11, 2017

My friend and I wanted to experience some Chilean wines. And Patricia knows how to show you a good time. Prompt pick up with easy instructions. Delightful conversation driving to the wineries. Two very unique experiences sandwiched between a leisurely lunch with a spectacular view.
Only disappointment was that none of the wineries ship back to Australia! Will have to remember the experience.

My partner and I spent a wonderful day with Patricia earlier this week. She selected two small boutique wineries that not only had great wines to taste but each were in beautiful locales with interesting buildings and the included very well done tours of the wineries themselves. She also took us for a tasty lunch in a beautiful Andean foothills location.
Beyond the wines, Patricia filled us in on a lot of the local sights as we drove by them in her comfortable vehicle and gave us suggestions for places to see, eat and drink back in Santiago.
She gave us a really nice day that was a highlight of our visit to Chile.

My wife and I have just returned from spending a memorable day in the Andes with our guide Patricia Garabito. The trip far exceeded our expectations. Patricia was an excellent guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about the formation and current geology of the mountains. She interspersed the information about the geology with information about the geography and history of Chile. In addition, besides being very informative, she was very friendly and personable.
We saw many wondrous sites that will live in our memory for a long time. However, the piece de resistance was undoubtedly having a beautiful lunch by a fast flowing river high in the Andes. There was a table with a tablecloth, easy chairs for my wife and I and some wonderful food. My wife even had hot tea, while I had my own personal wine tasting with detailed descriptions from Patricia.
Truly it was an outstanding day and Patricia is an outstanding guide.

This was my first time touring with Wine Wein tours and it was fantastic. I was absolutely blown away by the attention to detail, warmth, and incredible knowledge of our guide. It was a whole day tour. Winery in the morning for a tour and tasting and Santiago city tour in the afternoon/early evening. . The company customized the entire day to me, my interests and my knowledge level of wines and the history of Chile.
The organic winery was just outside of Santiago. The tour was full of great information about the vineyards important place in Chile's history, the surrounding town's history, the organic practices of the vineyard and how it differs from commercial vineyard practices. The tasting was great for a beginner like me. And Wine Wien was able to give me additonal tips and information about tasting the guide vineyard guide. The tour was in spanish. My spanish is very basic so Wine Wein was able to translate for me when needed. The tours are customizable they can also select english tours for you as well.
Santiago tour was also incredible. Focused on the downtown core: La Moneda, the main plaza, churches, historical buildings, etc. The best part was that Wine Wein was so knowledge able about the churches, monuments, and buildings. She incorporated the stories of the founding of Santiago and history of Chile into every monument, attraction etc. We had lunch at an amazing resturant where presidents of Chile often frequented throughout history!
What to bring: comfortable walking shoes, sun glasses and sunscreen, a curious mind, a camera, and any questions you may have about Chile's history, culture, wines, etc Wine Wein's is so knowledgable. But even more about that they are so passionate about Chile and sharing their beatutiful country with visitors.
I really recommend this tour company to anyone: - interested in learning about Chile past and present - beginner wine tasting - exprience wine tasters - people staying in Chile for a short trip - or those staying for a long time (like me) but want more of an understanding of the capital.

we do really apologize for the inconvenience, but in the description is written that the tour must be booked 48 hours in advance. The last minute reservation does not work for us. And as we mentioned you should talk to trip advisor, they manage the reservations

Patricia, thank you for an enjoyable tour to the Andes and Cajón del Maipo. My husband and I were impressed with your knowledge of the area and history. Our picnic and the wine tasting was special and memorable. We were happy to have experienced the diverse mountain, volcano and glacier landscape, fossil hunting, cattle ranchers, condors, hot springs, the chocolate house, and learn about the different neighbourhoods and villages. All in all, a wonderful day! Thanks again!

I can't say enough good things about our time with Patricia as she took us to see the majesty of the Andes up close. Picked us up on time, keeping us engaged with little facts and information about sites and places we passed through along the way, while also giving the chance to stop for the obligatory pictures!
She made the whole experience unforgettable, and we would happily take another tour with her anytime!

When the owner at the wonderful CasaSur Charming Hotel recommended that we take some tours with Patricia, we took the plunge. The first day into the mountains in a 4 wheel drive pickup was a wonderful experience, including a picnic lunch at 2500 m with the wind blowing, the food and wine very good and the scenery magnificent. Patricia is an excellent guide with a real knowledge of the region and a love for the outdoors. The 4 wheel drive was essential and the ride on back roads could be bumpy, but worth it. The second day we went to Valparaiso via a winery in the Casablanca valley. The wine tasting was an experience and several good bottles of wine came home with us. The visit to Valparaiso and the neigbouring cities was really interesting and we had a fine dining lunch in a fancy old building with pelicans swooping by the windows. Again, Patricia's knowledge and friendly personality made the day a very worthwhile experience.
