A tour guide can make or break an experience - and Gabriel MADE this experience the best it could possibly be. Very friendly, communicative, punctual, and professional! He’s a wealth of knowledge about the history of Chile, and he made the van ride super fun. Our tour group was really great (I was traveling solo) and he had us laughing and having a blast in no time at all. Cajon del Maipo is breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour!!

Awesome is the best word to describe this trip with our amazing guide, Gabriel!!! He is so knowledgeable and told us story after wonderful story about Chilean history and this absolutely stunning part of the Andes Mountains. He expertly maneuvered the very sheer and winding roads; we felt 100% safe at all times. This is one of the most beautiful mountain regions, with clear turquoise water and amazing scenery. It was obvious that Gabriel has great relationships with all of the vendors we came into contact with along the way. We stopped at a most charming roadside restaurant for empanadas and wine, and topped off the trip with delicious ice cream at the chocolate house. Gabriel accommodated all of our requests and then some. We highly, highly recommend this trip and our most gracious guide, Gabriel!!!

This tour was incredible. I've lived in Santiago for a year but haven't made it to Embalse El Yeso. I had someone visiting so we decided to do the tour. Easily one of my favorite things I've done since living in Chile. Gabriel did a great job of summarizing Chilean history and keeping us captivated throughout the day. I asked him to do the tour in Spanish (my guest does not speak English), but he used his "best Spanish," as he put it, and I was able to understand everything he was saying. I'm already booking another tour with Gabriel as we speak.

Wonderful getaway for a day in the mountains. Very informative and interesting history of the area, including some local economy. The locations were spectacular, photos will not do them justice. The colors were amazing, with striations on the mountain sides, and vivid white - blue of hanging glaciers.
Gabriel is very personable and friendly - he made the trip fun! Highly recommend this trip!

Today, was quite an adventure, heading into the Andes Mountains. A small bus took us along the dramatic gorge of Cajon Del Maipo (river) in Central Chile, southeast of Santiago. Before going “off road,” we stopped at San José de Maipo for a quick break. Along the drive, the river bed was low, and there were remnants of glaciers, and one waterfall. It is the tail end of summer which explains the arid terrain.
The area is heavily mined for copper, and we traded the narrow one-way road with dump trucks carrying loads. The final destination was the vast and beautiful turquoise Embalse El Yeso Reservoir. The Andes frame the reservoir in a dramatic fashion. We walked along rocks to reach the banks of the reservoir and enjoyed the commanding views. We had a lovely picnic and enjoyed regional Chilean wines. Heading back, we stopped at El Arriero for empanadas. The final stop was at Casa Chocolate Tienda Boutique, a Hansel and Gretel styled building featuring chocolate and ice-cream. George was an incredible and experienced driver, and Daniel provided great details on the region, and history of the area. It was a long day, but well worth the time and travel.

There is a lot of driving on little windy roads, but if you can cope with that this tour is great.

Alejandro, the guide, and Jorge, the driver, are both excellent and work as a team to ensure that everyone is well looked after. Alejandro's knowledge of Chile is extensive and he communicates well, making sure that everyone is included and feels welcome. As a bonus we had another guide, Martha, with us too, just for that day, who was also lovely.

We took regular breaks along the way, the lake and mountains are absolutely beautiful and we had about 1.5 hrs there to enjoy both it and the picnic (chilian wine is excellent!) plus empanadas and ice cream a bit later on. It provided a welcome contrast to the intensity of Santiago city, and I recommend it thoroughly.

Daniella, the guide, was excellent and kept us informed about all aspects of the trip as the day progressed. Pick-up was on time and mini bus was comfortable with a very good driver. Lots of opportunities to eat with most of it included. Easy way to see some stunning scenery and be given information about the area. Very enjoyable day.

What a wonderful experience! Alexandra worked with me to sign up for and take the tour, and communicated with me closely throughout the process to ensure I knew what to expect. She also provided a lot of additional useful information to me about Santiago and things to do in the area, which was invaluable. The tour itself was wonderful; the Andes mountains in the lake were more beautiful than I had anticipated. The empanada was delicious, the tour guides were wonderful, in the group dynamics were great as well. 100% recommend this tour!

This was a perfect getaway from hustle and bustle of the (humongous) city of Santiago. I felt like all aspects of the tour were excellent and all the stops enjoyable. The scenery around Cajón del Maipo was simply breathtaking. Daniela did a great job as our guide and our driver Jorge likewise did a great job negotiating some very tricky roads.

We had a day available for a day trip on our stay in Santiago, and debated between this tour or one to wine country. Because of the uniqueness of the Andes, this one won out. And, so glad it did! Once we got out of the city, which was no small feet on a workday, the experience was everything we could hope for. Gorge kept us on the road (no small feat, at times!) and Daniel provided excellent commentary on all things Chilean and our Andes adventure. Only reason I would consider not giving this a 5 is because of the traffic going and coming back...but nothing they can do about that!
