With our tour guide Gloria and driver Victoria we headed out of the port terminal at 8:00 am on Dec 22, 2018. At our first pee stop along Lake Llanquihue, the second largest lake in Chile we were able to pictures of Llamas.

We stopped a couple of times alongside the Petrohue River for photo opportunities, especially of the Volcano Osorno - the Fujiyama of South America. Then we stopped at Esmerelda Lake – Chile’s Lake Louise. We took a few more pictures and watched two eagles go into a tree close to us. We also saw two other active volcanoes – Tronador & Puntiagudo

One of the tours actually took the tram up the side of the Osorno volcano and saw ice craters as this was one of the few days you could see anything (Your Mom really wanted to do that). We each paid $6 to see the Petrohue Falls. They were nothing special.

We stopped at the Verde Laguana. It was a green pool of water. I took a picture of a big rainbow trout near the water’s surface

On the way back we stopped in Puerto Varas which was settled by the Germans. Besides Bavarian shapes they had colorful homes. We stopped at their downtown square for a 40 minute walk-around. Our guide said she takes her Mom and 8 year old son to the Cassis restaurant for their ice cream. When we walked inside two of the assistant cruise directors, Gabi and Veronika, were just paying their bill. We ordered carmello flan ice cream and a cake with a 7 minute meringue icing (looked like toasted marshmallows). The freshness and taste were outstanding.
Our last stop was the fish market (Angelmo Market) in Puerto Montt. It was also a vegetable market. We watched a vendor feed salmon leftovers to the sea lions.

I travelled with my husband and 2 adult daughters on an NCL cruise from Santiago to Buenos Aires and having been on a previous tour to Machu Picchu with Jaime and PatagonaiShorex we had no hesitation in booking his services again. He is exceptionally efficient, responding to emails promptly and clearly and all the details he outlined plus more were implemented on the day of the tour.
We did a number of tours and without doubt this was the BEST tour we undertook on this trip to South America. Jaime was waiting for us when we disembarked, he had an efficient driver and he gave us a lot of relevant information about the area as well as taking us to fantastic viewing areas before the crowds arrived, interesting walks and a unique local restaurant in a chef's home, among a host of other stops. We had a fabulous day and felt very tired, happy and positive about the Petrohue Falls area when we returned at the pre-determined time to the ship.
Thank you very much Jaime for a wonderful day. You are a superb guide and tour operator.

We just got back from our cruise to South America and we used Patagonia Shorex for 4 ports: Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas, Ushuaia and Puerto Madryn. Jaime, owner of the company, was excellent in all our pre-cruise communication. Replied back right away, answered all our questions and was very efficient and professional.

Jaime was our tour guide in Puerto Montt. He did an excellent job showing us around and taking us to 'his' special places and for lunch to a small restaurant where only locals go for delicious crab meat. We also had great tour guides and drivers organized by Jaime in Punta Arenas and Ushuaia, very knowledgeable and professional with excellent English. We had nice clean, comfortable vans for just the 4 people in our small group.

Our cruise did not make it to Puerto Madryn due to a strike there and Jaime made the full refund for that tour. I think this is another indication of a really great tour operator.

So we highly recommend Jaime and his company for your South American tours.

This was supposed to be a full day tour of the Falls, chairlift to Volcano if weather permitted which was a beautiful day, and lunch at off the beaten path away from tourist. Went to falls but stayed way too long. Then walked around Puerto Vartas for way too long. Very disappointed. Tour guide Vicky was good. Would not recommend this tour. Jaime Liebrecht did not hold up to what was advertised and what we paid for.

sorry for your bad experience but it was out of my control because the person who hire this tour did not continue and not come as tour leader and was no one who can handle that on board and inform the real tour who was hired. Any way partial refund was done just to demonstrate my good will.

Toured with 6-12 friends at many ports on our South American cruise in January 2014. We booked 8 tours with Jaime of PatagoniaShorex. All were interesting and had good, fluent-in- English tour guides. It is nice to have private tours so that you can spend extra time at spots you especially enjoy, and less time at those you don't; and in many cases miss the crowds from the ship's tours.
Jaime is very responsive and efficient at setting up the tours which went without a hitch. I highly recommend using his company if you prefer private tours to cruise company tours.

We are regular cruise travelers having done 10 cruises. We have always limited our excursions to those offered by the cruise line we were traveling on. At the recommendation of a member of our group, we choose to use Patagonia Shorex for our Buenos Aires to Valparaiso cruise. She picked Patagonia Shorex on the basis of the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. It was a very good decision. Their web site is easy to navigate making excursion selection a simple task. More importantly the owner, Jaime Liebrecht, is the most responsive agent in the travel business. Send him an email and you get a response within an hour or two. Pricing was based on participation with our numbers being 6 to 12, depending on the location. It was all laid out clearly with payments made through Pay Pal.

Our tour guides met us on the pier and off we went. Because our small group left the ship together, there was no waiting. The guides were as good as or better than those we’ve had in the past. The best aspect was having a smaller group of just us. A lot more time was spent touring and a lot less time getting 40 people on or off the bus. There always seems to be a straggler with the larger groups. Also, if we wanted to adjust our tour or cut it short because we were tired, we could do that.

Bottom line: We had a much better experience at less cost.

I came across Jaime's number and called him up just 2 days prior to my arrival at Puerto Montt. He was extremely prompt in his reply and created a tailored route for me and my wife, accommodating every place I wanted to visit within my specified time.

He was also open to change when it came to pricing. Jaime went out of his way in helping me. He actually used his own Chilean credit card to book a bus tickets for me which I could not otherwise book online, all this with ZERO upfront payment for the tickets and the tour!

On the day of the tour, he arrived on time to pick us up at the airport, and by the time we reached the arrival hall, he was waiting with our bags! He showed us around the local fish market in Puerto Montt, where we saw the boats bringing in the fresh catch and also got a flavor of the busy mornings for the locals.

We proceeded to Puerto Varas where he showed us the local sights and also helped us pick up our bus tickets. We then headed to the Petrohue Falls, the Osorno volcano and stopped for some awesome fish lunch in Frutillar.

All in all, I have only praises to shower on Jaime and I wish I get more guides like him everywhere I go!

Thank you Jaime!!!

The best part of Patagonia Shorex is its personal relationship to its clients. Jaime is very warm (we met him en route) and our guide, Maria Elena, was very nice. The tour group consisted of our family, nine adults, nine children 6-14 years of age. We went to see Petrohué Falls in Puerto Montt (yes, two "t's"!), which is absolutely magnificent. On Jaime's suggestion, we also stopped at a private home/restaurant with wandering llamas and an alpaca....which was "for the kids," but was fun for all of us. It also gave us a chance to have a brief cup of tea and some other goodies. Next time, I plan to educate myself more....so I have a better idea of other things to see and questions to ask...but, when I do....I will absolutely, without question, book with Jaime and Patagonia Shorex. Lovely people, solid, honest, dependable company.

I found several favorable reviews of Shorex so I emailed them to get a list of their tours and the costs. Jaime, the owner, was very responsive to my initial inquiry and my numerous questions in subsequent emails. We booked tours in several of our port stops. Our guides were almost all excellent. One was very good but had a bit of an accent. One of our port stops (Ushuaia) was cancelled due to weather. Jaime immediately refunded our pre-payment for that tour.
I would highly recommend Shorex for their responsiveness, the overall quality of their guides, their competitive prices (especially compared to the ships excursions), and the convenience of one stop shopping for excursions in many ports.

We have booked excursions with Patagonia Shorex over the past ten years. It is always a positive experience,Jaimie has a broad variety of excursions for the South America ports and is always helpful in matching the right experience to our needs. On this past trip,we went to the penguin colony in Punta Tombo and were happy from the beginnng with a nice ,comfortable, clean van with driver and guide waiting for us as we arrived. We were quickly on the road ahead of the other buses and guide Benoit was most informative and entertaining and well aware of our time frame.Hs communication was excellent. Jaimie was very good giving us all the details and phone contacts as well as following up afterwards to make sure all went well.
We also arranged a tour With Patagonia a Shorex in Valparaiso and Buenos Aries(Iguazi Falls) and again, Jaimie was quick to put a package together for us and in both cases all was excellent-- on time, clear communication, good information and comfortable and safe. We will not hesitate to contact Patagonia Shorex for any future needs or to refer friends who will be travelling that way.
