This tour has allowed me to further understand the racial and religious harmony in this amazing small country. We learn to not just cope but live and respect each other race and culture. Many things to learn even for the locals, from differences between south and north temples to etiquette and practices for mosque and church.

Thank you YAP for this wonderful tour with every second enjoyed and none are wasted.

This tour will give you a good introduction about the various religion in Singapore. Love how the whole group managed to interact with the staff / volunteer working at the various places of worship (I.e Masjid Sultan and Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple). The volunteer/ staff was very nice to set aside few mins of their time to answer to our various question.

We ended the tour at Harmony In Diversity and it was the perfect place! It was air-conditioned and the location is near to the City area. There was interactive touch screen kiosk and video for us to watch.

Overall, Yap did a superb job in introducing about each places of worship! Highly recommended!!!

Got the rare chance to learn more about different religions, especially those that I seldom interact with such as Sikhism. The guide Yap is also incredible. He has so much knowledge and his energy is infectious. He explained how different races live harmoniously together to achieve peace, something that many of us take for granting. Was so fun and an eye opener indeed!

I am always curious about religions in Singapore and how the various religions co-exisit in harmony.

This tour bring us to various religious landmarks in singapore and the guide explains the significance, history and interesting details about each venue and the worship practices.

He also introduced friendly volunteers from every place of worship to allow us third party insights and casual question and answer sessions.

Highly recommended for everyone visiting Singapore or locals who just want to learn more!

The tour is interesting and takes you off the beaten track, even myself as a Singaporean haven’t been to some of the places included in the tour. Guide Jan is amazing and very detailed.

This tour opened up my mind and my understanding of how different race and religion could live harmoniously together is such a small country. Being a Singaporean, I do often miss out on the small elements that made this happen (some will say that I took it for granted).

The guide is very passionate and he shared and show us the various places of worship of different religions as we travelled to different parts of Singapore.

I am most impressed when we visited the Sikh Temple, Khalsa Dharmak Sabha at 18 Niven Road, where we learnt about their religion and practices.

The tour ends at Harmony in Diversity Gallery where we see and learn about the efforts of Inter-Religious Organisation Singapore in ensuring all religions are able to practice within Singapore harmoniously!

A highly recommended tour to join!

By far the most comprehensive tour I've been in Singapore about Race and Religion. The tour started by talking about different living areas and how did Singapore achieve co-existence. Then proceed to introduce some of the religions in Singapore. Finally concluded at a hidden gallery that showcase and concluded the tour perfectly.

Do come for the tour with an open mind to see how to integrate faith into the society, and live together without segregation. As tour guests are in mixed ethnicity and religion, we also had a fruitful time engaging in thought-provoking conversation; not so much on our faith, but rather about understanding one anothers' faith and how to respect the culture. Time passes rather fast that you felt that you had just been in a crash course on the topic. Super interesting!

I am a local but the tour has still uncovered points on religion in Singapore for me. Especially the lesser known IRO religions like Bahaism and also information about Free Masonry.

With the start of the new year, I went for a unique tour which seems like a pilot tour for the public. It is about Race and Religion. It is truly a wonder to see how the different walks of life come together to live harmoniously in one small location.

Singapore has meticulously planned numerous communal spaces where all can come and interact with one another, such as everyday things like HDB flats and living estates. The tour also has brought us along to places of worship of the few main religions in Singapore such as the Indian temples, mosque and churches. While Yap, our guide, did not go too in-depth into the various religion, he is knowledgeable to highlight the main idea of each religion and how Singapore achieved Religious tolerance and acceptance. He emphasized on this point a lot throughout the tour.

The tour also has brought us along to places of worship such as Sri Veeramakaliaman, Sikh Gurdwara and Sultan Mosque. The high level of religious tolerance practised here might be difficult to believe until one manages to get the chance to observe it first-hand, as well as several examples that are pointed out by the guide. We were shown to Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, Sri Krishnan Temple, Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Maghain Aboth Synagogue. All of which has integrated a form of religious practise from another faith.

The Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) is then introduced to us, where it is a recognised organisation that is jointly governed by the 10 official religions in Singapore which also cares for all the minor religions as well. This ensures that new laws and policies enacted have considered all the groups in Singapore, regardless of race, language or religion.

This tour has truly been an intriguing and eye-opening experience as Yap shared the cultural interpretation and local insights. For tourist and locals, this tour is strongly recommended for the inquisitive-natured.
