- I4295KCmichaelj0 contributionsDon't hesitate - Definitely worth doingWe have visited Singapore before, and we were looking for something different to do on this trip. Based on the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to book this tour and it was WORTH IT! Darius, our guide, was full of information and delivered it in a way that was engaging and funny. The 3 hawker places we visited all had great food and each was unique. We even went back the following evening to Satay Street for dinner. We would have never known or found this place without the tour. We highly recommend this tour and would do it again.Written March 22, 2025
- LaurenR010 contributionsNice Night tour and not a lot of food for a food tourThe guide was very nice. We expected more food on a food tour. It was pretty limited and only 3 stops, with the last one at the very end of 3 hours. Over 3 miles of walking with lots of historical info if you are interested. If you want a night city tour, it’s good. If you want a food tour with sampling of Singapore cuisine, it lacks compared to any other food tour I’ve done in Asia. No alcohol provided, we bought beer and walked with it to fill the one hour gaps between food stops. Needs at least one more stop. Nice people. I’d skip this though…Written March 22, 2025

Our guide Jamie met us at the Hotel and had travel cards ready for a 20 min bus journey to China town, along the way she explained how housing system worked and was linked to the main ethic areas we would visit during the day.
You find similar China towns around the world Jamie explained and pointed out many features and building which played an important part of the city’s development, after visiting Buddha Tooth Relic Temple she took as to a secret spot high to see how the old and new city coexist.
Kampong Glam this area is filled with retail stores and restaurants influenced by Arabic and Muslim culture and traditions. Including a large mosque
As soon as you step out of the underground you in no doubt your in Little Indian it is full of colourful streets, bustling and authentic Indian cuisine. There are a mulberry of religious sites including Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple
Jamie gave us a much better of understanding of how the many different cultures live and work together and how history influences Sinapore operates today.
We did lots of walking and the day was hot and during our stay it rained heavily from late afternoon so I recommend starting early.

This tour was absolutely amazing! It was incredibly interesting and engaging from start to finish. Lisa, our guide, was phenomenal—her depth of historical knowledge was impressive, and she shared it in such an accessible and captivating way. She was also so patient and thorough in answering every question, making sure everyone felt included and informed.
The 2.5 hours flew by as Lisa brought history to life with her stories and insights. Her passion for the subject really shone through and made the experience both educational and entertaining.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable and enriching experience. It’s an absolute must-do!

This tour was exceptional! The tour guide Bernard is such a unique and gorgeous person, very humorous and entertaining, and at the same time with huge knowledge about the city, culture, religion, history and good spots to go (he is a born Singaporean). He also really cares for the group in terms of the sun and the heat and that we stick together all the time. I would definitely recommend this tour and I’m looking forward to the Chinatown tour with Bernard as well!

Ping is by far the one of the best tour guides I have had. She is so charismatic and extremely knowledgeable. Pins is also extremely experienced and well prepared. She took amazing pictures of the group and personalized it according to the groups interest and background as well! After the tour, she gave us a thorough itinerary of additional things we could do and even walked some of the group members to the metro. I went to this tour with my aunt and we loved Ping’s tour so much that we decided to take her tour the following day as well. These are some of the pictures Ping took!

Leonard or Leo for short is a wealth of information as it shows in his narration — he combines his knowledge of Singapore with wit and humour. The tour by Monsters Day Tours is set up as a free tour but almost all of us ended up paying Leo a tip. I am sure he is a freelance tour guide who may or may not have another side job on the side, but Monster Day Tours have a responsibility to be honest that it is a small paid tour.

Traveling for nearly 50 days can often blur experiences into monotony, but Bernard's Chinatown tour breathed new life into my journey.
Bernard's presentation style is nothing short of captivating. His unique storytelling held my attention from start to finish.
What sets Bernard apart is his ability to weave the diverse spots of Chinatown into a coherent narrative. Each location seamlessly connects to the next, creating an engaging storyline that unfolds with every stop.
The highlight of the tour lies in Bernard's introduction of real individuals from the stories (I will not spoil it). These stories not only enrich the experience but also unveil the soul of Singapore itself. Beyond its modern facade, Singapore emerges as a city shaped by the contributions and sacrifices of its predecessors.
As the tour concluded, emotions ran high among our group (I was already teary-eyed at this point). Bernard's ability to evoke such sentiment speaks volumes about his skill as a guide and storyteller.
Overall, Bernard's Chinatown tour is a testament to his extraordinary passion for Singaporean history and culture. It's an experience that transcends the ordinary, leaving a lasting impression on all who embark on this journey with him.

Few years ago, we already did a tour with Monster Tours of Little India. The kids wanted to do a similar tour, and we booked with them again, but they found a way to discuss a different side to what we have previously tackled. We requested for a very early start at 8AM to avoid the crowds and the heat, and they accommodated. Angel, our guide, was great with my 2 teens (ages 13 and 14), and made them listen and stayed interested with the topic. Not being able to have face-to-face classes for 2 years, Angel provided them with an engaging "Edutainment" (educational entertainment) during the walking tour. she adjusted based on their interest as we went, and my kids said, they learned more from Angel in our 2 hour tours, than 2 years of Online History class. I am now convinced that Monster Tours run quality tours. She showed us how Little India came about, even if it was not originally an Indian settlement. Wall mural art on each wall had its own story and depiction, and was there for a reason, and not only were they great instagrammable spots, but actually had inner depth and meaning. We will be back again on August with my parents, and will definitely book with them again, hopefully we get Angel again!

The tour was outstanding and highly recommended for anyone with even the slightest curiosity about Singapore's fascinating history. The tour allows guests to access government buildings that one wouldn't think would be open to tourists off the street.
Ping was outstanding as a tour guide. Her knowledge and passion for Singapore's history becomes obvious within 5 minutes. On top of having the basics down pat, she relays elements of her/her family's story as an "on the ground" element against the backdrop of the larger events in Singapore's history. My sister and I must have referenced Ping's stories and knowledge 10 times in the hours after the tour.
Highly recommended!

We will visit Singapore for the first time, February b1-3, 2020 and want to see as much as possible during this short period. Below are sights we want to see-
Sunday Feb 2, 2020- We would like to take a morning tour of Singapore, from 930 am-2pm, including a lunch in Chinatown, to see major sights.
Saturday Feb 3, 2020- We want to have an ethnic lunch around 1, take a tour from 2-7 pm and then have dinner before we fly back to New York City on Singapore Air at 11:50pm that evening.
We definitely want to see the Botanic Gardens/National Orchid garden, major historic, architectural and artistic sights, the Civic Center sights, the Marina Bay Front Promenade Skyline, Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, take a Bumboat, go to Clarke Quay, drive up to Fort Canning Hill overlooking the Singapore River, visit Chinatown, take a scenic drive passing through the Public housing Estates and up market properties/the East Coast and Chang I, including Kampong Glam, Tampines New town, Changi Beach and Village, visit Little India and Arab Street, take the Singapore Flyer and drive up to Mt Faber for the views.
Do you like these suggestions or do you have other ideas for us to do these 2 days?
Are you available to drive and guide us Feb 2 and Feb 3, 2020? How much would you charge?
Thanks so much!!
