- joannecK4953RD0 contributionsNight tourI was very impressed with our tour and Gee our guide was absolutely fantastic. All was great with the bus operators, only complaints was personal space, with people sick disregarding anyone around them (which happens anywhere) The night tour was very good, the bus overall was a great way to see Singapore, especially if you are really interested in what you're looking at... not just..'hey,that looks nice' We've all done guided tours, and we've all had that fantastic tour guide person... well, this was no exception, our guide... Elfie, which rhymes with Selfie. As he told us 10 times, was an excellent bonus for us to have him. If you can, try to hook up with him on a tour, you won't be disappointed.Written September 30, 2024

- NorthStar7466100 contributionsA must-do!Wonderful tour with “Roger the Dodger” as guide. He was easy to understand and offered much information that we would not have known or even thought about. Made the experience that much more interesting. Roger was very personable, making sure everyone was comfortable and gave clear directions. Time at Lau Pa Sat was slightly rushed but helped that we were able to get carry-out and finished eating later. Chicken satay was excellent. Captain was great to suggest side trip to Chinatown to see Festival of Lights.Written September 23, 2024

He knew his way around Singapore and made it easy for us to get around the stops along the way. He knew exactly the best viewing spot for the light show as well and dropped us off near our hotel at the end of the tour. Great Service.Written September 10, 2024
- stevennichols0 contributionsThey Left Without UsBooked through TripAdvisor. We weren’t given much information other than a departure time… we arrived at the departure time and the bus had left without us. We were told we could get our own way to the food stop. Which we did. And hung around a busy hawker centre anxiously waiting/looking for the bus to arrive. We got 2 satays (which we thought was a dinner stop) so went and got our own food and almost missed the bus again for the food taking a while to be ready. We then went to the Garden lights show… 15min of cool lights…. And that was the tour over with. We basically paid full fare for 2 satays and a light show… and they wouldn’t refund or transfer the tickets to the next night. Not overly impressed.Written September 9, 2024

- lyndao3480 contributionsA must see experienceThe views were amazing. Light show fabulous. A must see. Unfortunately could not hear much commentary at the back seats. Guide was good but the bus driver was rude. I bought two bottles of water and he did not want to give me change out of $10. He eventually gave me my change after I challenged him. We were dropped off after the tour at a taxi rank with no taxis. It was hours before we made our way home. Most were dropped off near their hotels but ours was not along the route. Also made more difficult because we were a group of 6 and couldn’t fit in one cab.Written September 2, 2024

I have done hop on hop off bus tours in lots of other countries/cities and this was by far the worst. It didn’t start well as we booked on line with City sightseeing. We followed the instructions to get to suntec city mall and couldn’t find any sign of them. We could only find the Big Bus. So after wondering around for a while we decided to ask them if they knew where we needed to go to collect our tickets. Turns out it was the same company. They are going through a ‘branding exercise’ so you could end up on different buses.
Once we got on the bus and got off at our first stop we realised that the drivers didn’t operate like elsewhere. They insist on all passengers exiting the bus and those boarding to go through the front door. We have been used to exiting passengers leaving by the double middle doors. In addition the driver didn’t stop people getting on until those who wanted to leave got off, so as you can I,gained it was chaotic. When we came to want to get back on the bus we had to wait quite a long time. The schedule says 15 to 20 mins, but it was often longer than that. The traffic is always bad in the city but the schedules don’t seem to allow for it.
The commentary, via the headsets, was, when we got it, not particularly informative. I can’t believe there wasn’t more to say and the same piece of classical music did get quite irritating. I say when we got commentary. We boarded at least 2 different buses where we couldn’t get anything at all. It would also have been useful if the commentary had stated what stop number was coming up. The driver had to do this.
So all in all disappointing. We did end up walking quite a bit as it was better than standing waiting. So for the few mourners we did I’m not sure we got our monies worth.

The drivers go so fast that you can’t even take pictures. If you are listening to the audio guide you miss everything because they drive so fast that by the time you are hearing the info the driver has already past the location. You need to know your stops in advance because the driver does not announce the stops. I paid for 48hrs & did not use it for the 48 hrs. Waste of money! Very Disappointed!

We utilised the big bus hop on hop off buses for 48 hours this March during the coronavirus crisis. All of the staff were in high spirits despite what was going on and incredibly helpful. Winston at suntec city was a blessing - he remembered our names every day and told us several places to see that we didn’t even consider. The routes are super handy and in my opinion the best way to see Singapore! Keep up the good work through the tough tikes team. 110% recommend for all tourists!

We had two days to spend in Singapore so we thought it would be a good idea to buy a two days pass. It wasn't.
First day we wasted more time waiting for the buses than visiting places of interest. The cherry on top was the fact that the buses stop working after 5.30pm, when it's a bit cooler and more enjoyable to go around.
Second day we just used local taxis and, albeit a bit more expensive but not by much (for two people), we managed to visit a lot more.

We took the Big Bus Hop On Hop Off and it was a disaster.
When we decided to return to our hotel around 4pm we were left to take a taxi.
We waited over 1 1/2 hours with 5 other couples and some had babies in very hot weather.
Bus after bus drove by full.
We ended up taking a taxi to our hotel.
I complained to the company about this and they would not reply with a corrective action.
Apparently this happens every afternoon.

Don’t waste your money on this and take a leisurely walk.
The bus commentary in 11 languages never worked all we got was music well the same price over and over.
Hop on and off , be quick as you wouldn’t be down from the top deck before the driver was off.
Wasted 94 Singapore dollars on this and when we went and complained they didn’t want to know as they had already had the money.

If you just want to ride the 2 routes around the city and listen to the guide commentary would be a pleasant experience but unfortunately doesn't work as well for a 'hop on hop off' tour. We only had a few days in singapore so planned to hop on and off to explore some of the main sites/ areas. Unfortunately at each hop off we then had to wait for an extended period (just over 40 mins at one stage) for a bus. App is useful to see where buses are but only if you are in a place with wifi. Feel could be improved by slightly more frequent buses/ at least a poster at each stop advising of expected bus times for that stop so you could plan your visit.

Hi Lauren,
Thank you for leaving us a feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience was not a positive one. Our current bus frequency is between 25 – 40 mins, and dependent on the traffic condition on the day. Our app shows live tracking of our bus timing and understand that all guests may not have data/wifi to access the app. We are unable to place poster advertising the expected bus times at each stop as it is not allowed by the authority as the panels are all reserved for public buses posting. We valued your feedback and will work on increasing the frequency of our buses.

If you want to scan the area a one-day ticket could be fine. But, in no city in the world I spent so much time waiting for the next bus. Okay, it’s warm in Singapore. In the morning 2 busses (this means 40 minutes extra waiting) drove past without stopping (yellow line - stop 11). This was so annoying.
I really recommend to use the MRT or regular busses. So much cheaper and very easy in buying tickets. Just use any mobile device (I use Apple Pay with Matercard), you only have to tap in when you go on the train and tqp out when you leave. That‘s it! While I’m writing this I have to wait another 30
Minutes at the Suntec Hub for changing from
The yellow to the red line.

Hi Jutta H, thank you for taking time out to leave us a review and we are sorry to hear that your experience with us was not a positive one.
We would like to share that as advertised, our buses are scheduled to run every 25 – 40mins so guest can Hop off the bus and explore the area at their preferred stop and Hop on to the next bus after they have explored the area. We would advise guests to download the Big Bus Tour App for real-time tracking of buses.

The routes the 4 different line took were very interesting and the commentary via the onboard system was excellent. The drivers in general were accommodating but at times were a bit rude. The organization at the main bus terminal "Sunlec" was a somewhat confused, but all in all I would reccommend this as a way to see Singapore city.

Basically we rode one route for 1.5 hours for $180.
We always head to the red top bus in any country we visit around the world… but this second rate comparison just doesn’t cut it.
We only had an overnight stay so thought it would be nice to utilise the bus . Jumped on at 2pm, so had until 2pm the next day validity, were flying out next morning but thought the $ was ok for a few hour tour.
The driver failed to notify us that the $180 we paid didn’t include the night tour, and that the “day” bus ceased services at 5pm.
Got on yellow line tour at 2pm, rode until 3.30, went to check out a sight, went to get back on at 5.30, sorry buses aren’t running now, it will cost you another $180 for the “night” tour.
NO bus tour that we have ever experienced around the world changes the bus to a brown one and calls it the “night tour” red top bus tours allows you use your 24 hour ticket at any time of the day that suits you!
Tried to negotiate to pay less for the night tour.. but got the same robotic lame bad customer service that they respond with on this forum.
Stop money grabbing and allow people to enjoy this beautiful city whether it be day or night.

Our tickets were part of a package booked online, great value as package consisted of flyer. Boat cruise and on off bus. I am pretty sure you can book either previous day to 9.30 departure of first bus, or in the morning at the office of departure at 9am. Hope this helps, but check out the Singapore flyer package that includes bus. Great value

Don’t think it is, but you still have to go to the Sun tex shopping Centre anyway to validate your ticket. You can get a discount if you fly with Singapore airlines and show them your boarding pass either on your phone or the actual ticket.

Written March 3, 2019
Thanks, having paid for the tickets, it then gave me an option to either print the tickets or send them to my phone. Sent to phone, it then said :
If you requested to have your tickets sent via SMS, remember that there is no need to print your tickets, just bring your phone with you with the ticket page open to show it to one of our on street staff who will issue you your ticket.
Hoping that's all that is needed :)
