- alexantk0 contributionsA great way to sample SingaporeThis is a very thorough and comprehensive tour of the foods of the main ethnic/cultural groups of Singapore and some of the key areas (minus Chinatown). We got the chance to taste so much food and have a really personalised experience. It was great having such a small group where you could ask follow-up questions and experience some authentic food, beverages, and culture. We got to eat at places we would never have gone to on our own, and tried a wide variety of foods, desserts and drinks! Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept us on schedule. He was also very aware of the surroundings to make sure we stayed out of the sun and were careful when crossing roads.Written September 16, 2024
- MattE2170 contributionsOutstanding 4.5 hour tour of SingaporeOutstanding tour - covered many different aspects of Singapore history, culture and living. Tour guide Gee was extremely knowledgeable and personable and provided a most engaging experience of Singapore. The tour last 4.5 hours and was well paced. It provided a wide contrast of scenery and experiences.Written September 16, 2024
- twotravellers790 contributionsBest thing to do in SingaporeWhenever I visit a place as a tourist I like to do a food tour with a local company and this tour ( a 6 hour walking food tour with Pamela ) was one of the best ones I have ever gone on. There was food, history, sights to see and a lovely small group of people. My friends who have never done a food tour ever were blown away by the different food types, restaurants/cafes, etc.Written September 15, 2024
- u8vindaloo0 contributionsBOOK NOW :)If you a scrolling BOOK THIS NOW! I travel to Singapore a reasonable amount for work and don’t usually have time to visit or learn more about Singapore, this was perfect. Suling, our guide was a wealth of knowledge not only on the food but also history and neighborhoods - thankyou Suling!Written September 14, 2024
- FarAway232956743420 contributionsA great crash course to learn all about Singapore! We enjoyed our tour so much! Our guide, Gee was so knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed the variety of the tour and we asked a lot of questions about Singapore's history and culture which Gee expertly answered. The food at the hawker market was delicious and we certainly learned a lot about tea too! We would absolutely recommend this tour.Written September 3, 2024
- hiimzzz0 contributionsAuthentic and fun!Highly recommend the small group tour with Kwang Wei! We got to try an insane number of authentic and comprehensive dishes, and had so much fun learning about the neighborhoods and made some really unforgettable memories exchanging stories and tips with fellow tourists. We've had a lot of laksa before, but the laksa Kwang took us to was the best we've ever had! Serious shout-out to Kwang for being such an incredible host. All the dishes he took us to were incredible. The pacing was perfect, and the information he provided about the food, neighborhoods, Singapore culture, and even Taylor Swift! were both informative as well as interesting. He also went above and beyond in managing everyone's food restrictions. We've gone on a couple of food tours, and this was our favorite one! You'll get to try a lot more dishes than on your own, and honestly the spots that Kwang took us to were way tastier and more authentic than all the highly reviewed restaurants we had tried based on google reviews. Major thanks to Kwang for making our last day in Singapore such a blast :)Written August 29, 2024
- 001Celia0 contributionsA Delicious 6 Hours!Thank you so much to Richard Kan for the most fantastic 6 hours of eating in Singapore - we loved it! While food is at the heart of this tour, there is plenty of time to walk, talk and learn more about Singapore past and present. There were 6 of us on the day we booked and this felt a great size -there was always plenty of food with no fear of missing out! We explored and tasted a range of different plates and tastes -there was no pressure to eat/drink something that didn't appeal, while equally there was always the option of more (you will not get hungry!). When booking, 6 hours seemed rather a long time, but this is a well paced tour that gives you the time to explore more than just one area of Singapore - with limited time in the city, this really appealed to us. We weren't disappointed - thank you Richard for a memorable day in your city. Celia and David.Written August 29, 2024

- Pioneer051184619790 contributionsHighly recommendedThe reviews were right. This experience was as expected and so much more. It was my first time in Singapore and I felt like I learned a lot about this city-state in the few hours I was in this tour. Richard was a treasure trove of information. His pride of Singapore, its culture and food was evident. And he was always ready with his stash of utensils, sanitizer and napkins. Thanks, Richard! Food was great - most of it I haven't eaten before. Was full by the middle of the tour but had room for more. Feel like the number of participants was perfectly right and everyone was so friendly. What can I say, despite being sleep-deprived because of a delayed flight, this was an awesome first day in Singapore.Written August 24, 2024

Fabulous tour! We saw so many different parts of the city and got to try so many different types of food.
This is the best way to learn about the cultural influences in any new city we visit, and this tour did not disappoint.
Our guide, Dan, is super-knowledgeable and so friendly.
What a great first day for us in Singapore!

We very much enjoyed our tour with Su Ling. The different locations, where we have been, have been selected meaningfully and thoughtfully. We not only were introduced to a large variety of wonderful food from the three major ethnicities in Singapore, but also learned a lot about the history of the city, the development of the different groups of people and their interrelationships. Su gave us a very informative insight into the different cultures and showed us places, where one wants to go back to. Su was an excellent guide and we can definitely recommend her.

Top class experience. Our guide Pam was clear and concise with her descriptions and commentary for the full duration of the tour. The tour itself was well constructed and would suit visitors who are prepared to srtoll through historic Singapore, ride a bus, ride a tour boat and ride an elevator to the 50th Floor of the Pinnacle at Duxton. By that I mean almost all of the time we were on the tour we were on level ground. Lunch was excellent and where we ate there were plenty of locals also eating - a good sign if locals are eating there it must be OK. We enjoyed the traditional Chinese tea appreciation at Tea Chapter and appreciated the art of enjoying Chinese tea. Very good value for money, would recommend.

I give this tour 5 stars because Pam is amazing! Pam was so knowledgeable and really friendly. She made this tour amazing! Additionally, our tour was supposed to be an English speaking tour and she amazed us by speaking Spanish to my parents as that is our native language. With that said it was awesome to visit a lot of interesting cool sites in Singapore, however some of the food were not to our liking. This tour was expensive considering the small amount of food we shared and no water was provided, only coffee and a delicious cane juice. I recommend that the owner changes some food venders, provides water for Pam and its customers, and provides transportation back to the hotel. Thankfully Pam helped us with calling us a Grub. Nonetheless, PAM is the reason we had an amazing time! She is wonderful!!!! I recommend this tour because of Pam and how she shows you around Singapore! :)

What a wonderful culinary experience in the great city of Singapore. Food was the main reason for my week-long visit to the city. The 6 hour tour with Gee Soo did not disappoint and was exactly what I was looking for. We started with a Singapore breakfast with a curry puff, kaya toast and coffee on East Coast Road. Also sampled a dumpling and ondeh-ondeh, a sweet desert. We then went to the Old Airport Road Hawker Center where I tried sugar cane juice, Popiah (spring roll) and Rojak, which is a sweetened fruit salad (one of my favorites). At another stop was a four dish tasting of Malaysian food. The spicy beef rendeg was a highlight. Probably my number one favorite was the chicken murtabak.
Two beverages stood out as well. Teh Tarik Halia (ginger pulled milk tea) and hot Badam milk.
I expressed an interest in sports so we made a special stop and the newly built stadium. We also utilized public transportation in the form of bus, MRT, and taxi.
Overall if food is what you are looking to sample in Singapore, this tour is for you. Gee Soo was extremely friendly and accommodating. He has such a genuine love for his city and it is clearly evident that he takes pride in showing it off.

My private food tour and walking tour with Hello Singapore were absolutely amazing. Gee Soo was such a wonderful guide - we had great conversations around the history of Singapore and its future. As I only had 48 hours in the city he was very flexible in our days based upon what I wanted to see in the city/what foods I wanted to try. We were at a local Hawker Center and he mentioned a Michelin starred stall known for their noodles - so we took a fun detour to go try them! Traveling solo can be daunting, so I truly appreciated Gee Soo and I's conversations throughout our 2 days together and showing me his home - he is a great ambassador. I am really looking forward to visiting again in the future!

Our Singapore food tour with Su Ling was fantastic — I’m still dreaming about the hokkien mee noodles three weeks later! We traveled around the city like locals, ducking into places I would never have picked on my own that offered truly incredible Singaporean specialty dishes. Su Ling’s deep knowledge of Singapore’s history enriched the experience and brought the food to life, and she was great company for our day. I would do it a second time just for all the great dishes and adventurous day!

This was our second private tour with Hello Singapore and Gee Soo as our guide.
He collected us at our hotel, the Marina Bay Sands, early in the day and took us on a magnificent culinary adventure, beginning with a typical Singaporean breakfast. During the course of the day, we ate 14 generous sized dishes; Singaporean, Indian, Chinese, Arab and Indonesian, and although more were on offer, we gave gave up: we simply didnt have room for another bite. Still, if I'd had the opportunity to have another dish of Chendol, my favorite, I might have found it. Fantastic!
This is more than a food tasting experience. It's rich with history and a cultural exposition.
Gee Soo is a charming man and a wonderful interpreter of the ethnic Singapore food scene. We were delighted with his food selections and his compelling narrative. He also has a great sense of humour.
We definitely recommend this fabulous tour and Gee Soo.
Gee Soo: Warm regards from your friends in Winnipeg, Canada. We hope you will enjoy your new home.
