      Filipino family cooking
Isi had every thing ready so after greeting we got right to cooking. We made several authentic Filipino dishes while learning about the history of the food and its origins. We chopped, stirred and tasted along the way. We made chicken adobo and several other dishes. We can’t wait to cook them at home.

Good Food and a Great Experience.
Isi's market tour and lunch was fantastic. The market tour gave us a chance to interact with local merchants and see the various meat, seafood and vegetables. We let Isi know what kind of food we wanted (Seafood and Vegetables). Isi purchased the ingredients with us at the Market and we went to her condo to prepare and eat lunch. A great way to spend our travel day in Manila.

They didn't confirmed the tour, don't book with this operator!
It is incredible, I booked this tour 2 days in advance. I was expected to be on the pick-up place today at 9:30 AM. I asked them a confirmation the night before, got no news. However, it was not until 10:03 AM when I got an email that the tour was declined. What happens if I move to the pick-up location on purpose? Also, who compensates me for having now no plans because I was reserving my reduced free available time for this? In addition to that, they charged my credit card when I booked, they credited it today. However, because the exchange rate I lost money. Really ugly, an horrible service!

Amazing Local Market Tour and Filipino Cooking Class
My fiancé and I were visiting the Philippines to see family. It was my first time visiting the Philippines whereas my fiancé has visited many times. We love learning more about the food and culture of every area we visit. We wanted to find a way to get a closer look at more local activities and wanted a local to help us navigate. My fiancé used to be a travel agent and always promoted Traveling Spoon to his customers, so it was exactly the company we were excited to use ourselves. We were extremely happy to meet Isi, our host and chef. We booked a food market and cooking class and it exceeded our expectations! Booking online was easy. Isi was very attentive by contacting us to set up a meeting location and time. She was very responsive and punctual, which was important for us as we were unfamiliar with the area. We visited a local food market that was a sight in itself. It was incredible to see the establishment and get a chance to walk around and look at all the fresh ingredients. Isi was very informative sharing her knowledge and love for food and Filipino culture. She offered many options to help us explore Filipino cuisine. You could tell how much Isi cares about food and culture through her words. It made the experience even better as we enjoy being surrounded by people who are passionate about the things they value. Isi let us decide what we wanted to make and also offered suggestions on what to make. We loved that she gave us options so that the experience would feel more tailored to our interests. We had so much fun cooking together and learning how to prepare the ingredients for our dishes. She's also great at taking pictures throughout the process, for anyone that enjoys having photos to remember the event by. The entire experience was interactive and we prepared the dishes with her guidance. Isi was informative and patient throughout the entire process. She was an excellent instructor and guided us step by step. She made sure that we were having fun as well as ensuring that we were properly preparing the ingredients. Isi was so very welcoming and friendly that it felt as if we were long time friends cooking lunch together. Her home was clean, cozy, and welcoming. She was a wonderful host welcoming us into her home. My fiancé and I absolutely loved the experience and we are so thankful that we got an opportunity to meet Isi and learn so much about Filipino food and culture through her. We also can't wait to check out some of her recommendations as well! We absolutely recommend signing up with Isi at Traveling Spoon as she will definitely take great care of you and give you a wonderful experience! We hope to take another class with Isi and Traveling Spoon in the future!

The Best Way to Unlock the Filipino Food Scene
As a first generation Filipino American growing up in the states, Filipino food was always just the food I grew up eating. But as a culinary professional now with my own food business celebrating Filipino food, it's much more than that. It's a cultural point that needs to be recognized and respected. I really wanted to learn more and experience more on this trip to the Philippines with my fiancee. I've recommended Traveling Spoon to others but this was the first time booking it for myself. My experience with Isi absolutely did not disappoint. Not only was Isi an incredibly professional, attentive, and knowledge host, she was a friend and a guide who truly wanted nothing more than to celebrate and share her knowledge and love of Filipino food with others. I learned so much and my fiancee and I truly felt like we had an opportunity to get to know the people and the place we were in. She's become so much more than just a host and guide. She is a friend and a valuable resource of unending knowledge and passion. She is the epitome of what this experience should be. A true key holder to unlocking the wonders of Filipino food and culture. Thank you Isi so much for such an incredible and unforgettable experience!

      Very entertaining, would go again!
Attended this cooking class with a guest to gain skills in Filipino cuisine. Both Greg and Oscar were very welcoming, friendly, organised, educational and entertaining. Helpful prior communication about the dishes and ingredients to ensure it meets our dietary requirements. Lovely home for the dining experience. Highly recommended.

      Mouthwatering Nostalgia
Chef Isi was awesome & generous! Had a great time and even made an surprising “small-world” bonus connection with her. Food tours are really best with more guests, I think. Unfortunately, it was just my husband (who was still a little sick that time) and I for that weekend morning. The experience wasn’t also what I expected of a home-cooking class experience--- we were moved to a different venue due to pandemic restrictions so no calamansi-picking gardens with a side commentary of personal stories and proper cooking techniques, haha awe :( Still, the food we helped prepare were still indigenous to Philippine cuisine and delectably flavorful. Chef was also gracious and let us try some of her personal favorites of local crafted beers. We’re not huge meat eaters, so our personal favorites were the Ginataang Pinakbet (vegetables stewed in coconut milk & local spices-- even the garbanzos added a new texture memory to my taste buds), and the Bistek Tanguige (spanish mackerel marinated in soy sauce & calamansi). 100% YUM! <3

      Authentic experience
Isi was very friendly and we met at Farmers Market - Araneta City, which was a great experience! We then drove to her apartment in BGC and cooked together. It was a nice experience to get to know typical local food and dishes. Thanks Isi

Filipino food cooking, plus a variety of interesting pursuits like Zumba.
Cooking class in a private home was a different experience altogether. Yes, I would do it again but in a different home or place just for the adventure and educational value. My wife does Filipino food cooking on her Youtube channel. Her channel name is called: /emilyleskeglobetrotter if you would like to see a variety of shows from cooking to charity work and she is a licensed Zumba Instructor with free online classes. I am also on Youtube.com as /dleske doing underwater photography, charity work in the Philippines and Mexico plus a variety of odd interests.
