About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- AChakrabarti0 contributionsTibet Travel Experience with Windhorse TourHergé, created the childhood dreams of a place called Tibet. Over the years Tintin's travels took us as children, to a place that we knew very little of, and so there were many preconceived ideas and notions. The interest and intrigue led us to explore how a trip could be planned and that is how, in early 2024, we came across Windhorse Tour, a Chinese Travel agency, based in Chengdu, on internet. Victoria from Windhorse Tour was the architect of a trip that would never be forgotten. Our destinations included Lhasa, Lake Manas Sarovar, Mt. Kailash, Guge Kingdom ruins at Zanda Earth Forest and Mt Everest Base Camp (North). She was extremely prompt in her replies, informative and adept at answering any questions with the utmost patience. She was reliable, trustworthy, respectful and professional in her approach. She not only helped tailor the trip to our needs but also planned the stays that ensured gradual ascent towards Everest base camp. That along with an excellent choice of hotels helped us acclimatise without any problem whatsoever. On top of everything, Windhorse Tour helped us in getting Chinese Visa and all sorts of Tibet travel permits along our journey. Victoria organised Tashi as our English speaking Tibetan guide and Asang as the local driver and we have to say that there could not have been anyone more suitable for the trip. Our confidence in them started the moment they received is at Lhasa railway station and only grew. Tashi, with more than 20 years experience was careful to keep us well and healthy. He never rushed us and slowed us down when we were getting excited! Every morning he reviewed our physical status, made sure we drink enough water and even got us honey, ginger and lemon so we could use natural preventative measures. He was always by our side, patient and caring. His English was impeccable and he helped so much when choosing the food at restaurants. He knew the right spots for photographs and took photos that we would never have managed to. He would climb, run, and even get others out of the way with his tact. Very clever man indeed. His knowledge of the Tibetan history, culture and tradition helped us learn so much. Very importantly his handling of our passports and getting things organised with various travel permits was a breeze. We could not have done it without him. Asang was superb. He was a safe driver and was always there to help load Or unload the luggage, open and close the sliding doors and ensuring that we had enough toilet breaks! He always made sure we got our sweet tea at the eateries and there was never a moment where he did not wear a smile. He was, like Tashi, always punctual and the trips were always on time. We could not say enough to describe how efficient Windhorse Tour have been and how they made our life long dream come true. We would like to thank Victoria, Tashi, Asang and everyone working behind the scenes for this truly remarkable experience. We would safely recommend Windhorse Tour to anyone wishing to travel to Tibet (and China).Written June 29, 2024

- Audreanne P0 contributionsExcellent service! We decided to travel to Tibet with WindhorseTour for different reasons. The main one was because of their professionalism. They put us in contact with an agent speaking very good english, always available for any kind of questions and it was perfect for that. We also choose them because the tour was with a local tibetan guide and they respected the itinerary we wanted to do with very competitive price. During the tour, we had very good hotels with nice clean room and breakfast; amazing local guide, clean bus and water bottles. We didn’t regret our experience! They professionally assisted me from the beginning of my experience, with all the documents and permits. Once there, all I have to do was enjoy the ride. Hotels were all clean and provided for the standards in Tibet (do not expect a five stars hotel!). Our guide was really nice and assisted us every time we needed. Overall, I was very satisfied! - BRABAAKARAN0 contributionsFulfillment and SatisfactionWe went to EBC and Kailash in Tibet with Windhorse Tour. Yuki gave us the best planning for this trip. The arrangement right from the pick up at Chengdu until we leave to hometown was perfectly arranged. The accommodation and transport provided was good. We had a full board arrangement and it was very helpful for someone new to Tibet like us. The best of the trip was the Guide at Tibet especially for the Kailash trip. Jamten gave us excellent service throughout the 12 days at Tibet. We really appreciate the guidance, arrangements for the changes we request and the action he took during the emergencies. Overall all 13 of us were very satisfied with the service provided and will definitely recommend to others. Thank you Windhorse!
