What to Expect
Your Tibetan adventure with your local guide starts in the capital city of Lhasa and continues to the small towns of Gyantse and Shigatse before arriving at Everest Base Camp, the mountain's northern base camp in Tibet.

(About Everest Base Camp: Mt Everest has two base camps, the southern camp in Nepal and the northern camp in Tibet. The southern camp is part of the more popular climbing route and is only accessible by hiking in; the northern camp — the one you will visit on this tour — is accessible by both walking in and by vehicle.)

In Lhasa, you have a few days to get acclimated to the high altitude and enjoy both guided sightseeing activities and free time to walk around the old city on your own. Then leave the city by comfortable van or minibus operated by an experienced driver, and head toward the Himalayas, passing beautiful temples and monasteries, remote villages, snow-covered mountains, sacred lakes, and herds of sheep and yaks.

Accommodation includes 4-star hotels in Lhasa and Shigatse, and a rustic tent guesthouse at Everest Base Camp. Other than breakfasts at the hotels, meals are not included, allowing you the flexibility to choose what and where to eat. Your guide can suggest restaurant options in each place you visit.

This Small Group Tour includes pickup and drop-off shuttle bus in Lhasa, transport, entrance fees and Tibet travel permits; simply provide your passport details and China entry visas right after booking.

Migmar is guide. Her English is good, and service is excellent as well. Always punctual and answers all our queries. Everest base camp can be a killer though. You will wake up with headache no matter how prepared you are. But it is all worthwhile.
