- annamD6067HX0 contributionsunforgettable journeyI had an absolutely unforgettable journey to Tibet with Tibet Vista, and I cannot thank them enough for the outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the breathtaking landscapes and rich culture of Tibet. A special mention goes to our incredible guide, Tenzin. He was not only extremely knowledgeable about Tibetan history, culture, and Buddhism but also genuinely caring and attentive to everyone in our group. He always made sure we were comfortable, well-informed, and acclimatizing properly to the altitude. His passion for his homeland was evident in the way he shared stories and took us to the most fascinating places, many of which we would have never discovered on our own. The entire Tibet Vista team did an outstanding job in making this journey smooth, safe, and truly memorable. If you’re planning to visit Tibet, I highly recommend this company—and if you’re lucky enough to have Tenzin as your guide, you’re in for an amazing experience!Written February 4, 2025

- jonpP5297TL0 contributionsGreat first trip to Tibet.I booked a tour with Tibet Vista online, their staff was incredibly easily and quick to work with. They helped me pick good dates and made the permit process a breeze. They picked me up at the train station after I arrived in Lhasa and made my general travel very easy. The next day I met our Tour Guide Tsernia who was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She made touring Lhasa a great experience with a lot of new information learned. I highly recommend booking a tour with Tibet Vista, everything went as planned and was pleasure. I’ll be coming back again.Written January 15, 2025
- n0ppaw0ngp0 contributionsA pleasant journey in TibetI have expected to come to Tibet for long time. It is ongoing untill the appropriate time comes. I prefer to travel in winter season based on my preference. I went to many places located in Tibet as planned. Unfortunately, I cannot go to see Namtso lake due to weather condition. However, I and Tibet Vista arranged alternative plan, in order to go smoothly. Mr. Tashi, a local guide accompanied me throughout the trip. He gave me an insight of the places we went to, planned everything I need as requested. Moreover, he was quite enthusiastic to encourage me to know about Tibetan culture. I took a lot of beautiful photos. He also helped me get many good photos with great views. Therefore, I was very satisfied with the time spending on sightseeing in Tibet. If I have a free time, I will definitely come back again to see other tourist attractions in Tibet.Written January 3, 2025
- OngJ740 contributionsA perfect tripWe heard good reviews about Tibet vista and decided to take on their overland tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu. We did a private tour instead of a group tour as we had an elderly on the trip. Emma (邓邓) from Tibet vista patiently answered all our queries before we confirmed on the trip. She was very responsive and settled our visa application timely. We were also given timely updates on our visa application status. Our guide's contact was given to us in advance too. The approved visa was sent to our hotel in China, overall a fuss free experience. Dorjee, our guide, is patient, knowledgeable and speaks very good English and Mandarin. He has been a wonderful history teacher. The trips to the monestaries were engaging and we have learnt much about Buddhism, Tibet's history and culture. Dorjee is also punctual, professional and took great care of the elderly. He would check with us everyday, first thing in the morning, if we have slept well and whether we have any AMS symptoms. He would then briefed us on the day's activity and timeless. He also thoughtfully prepared a traditional Tibetan wrap skirt to keep us warm at EBC. He is always ahead of the queues - the trip was well planned, well executed and visits/ check point clearance were efficient. We were super lucky to be blessed with good weather and a 10/10 sunset view of the Mt Everest on new years day eve! We were initially quite hesitant about visiting Tibet in Dec coz it can get really cold, but after this experience, we would definitely recommend visiting during the off peak season for the following reasons: - hotels and tours are way cheaper during lull period - Dec is dry season, and we were blessed with clear sky EVERYDAY. - the weather is very pleasant in the day ( e.g. 2 layers + 1 north face jacket is usually enough because the weather is dry and sun is strong). We were usually back in hotel before sunset, so didn't have to experience the extreme cold at night. Overall it was a pleasant experience with Tibet vista and we would definitely be back again! Bonus: Dorjee also knows all the good toilets along the way 😁Written January 2, 2025
- Drgjsi0 contributionsCentral TibetAbsolutely amazing trip, very well organized. Our tour guide, Kunchok, was the best and took care of our every need. Very informative and thorough with all his explanation! Will definitely find him again when we visit tibet again!Written January 1, 2025

- Fearless452071025510 contributionsBest guideI want to share a review about a great guide and a wonderful person - Mr. Sonam tenphel In September 2024, he was a Tibetan guide in the Russian group of the company "All Ways" on a trip through Tibet from Lhasa to Mount Kalash and back. Sonam's excellent knowledge of the history of Lhasa and its sights, the ability to tell it correctly, clearly and interestingly, strongly distinguishes him! His concern for each member of our group was especially noticeable on the bark around the great Kailash Mountain! But there is another distinctive feature - his smile, which is unmistakable! Sonam is an excellent Guide, and I recommend him with confidence and pleasure to all Tibetan explorers!Written January 1, 2025

- Edlynedlyn0 contributions10/10 satisfying and memorable trip with Tibet VistaWe had a 8-day customised tour for group of 4. Emma coordinated our itinerary based on the places we would like to go. She was patient and assuring in her explanation since we were worried about the high altitude sickness, cold weather, and uncertain if we should take a flight or train from Chengdu. We flew from Chengdu to Nyingchi based on Emma's recommendation since Nyingchi was about 2800m, and we left Lhasa to Chengdu via overnight sleeper train. We went in Decemeber for the glaciers. We went to Nyingchi, Bomi, Laigu Glacier, Ranwu Lake, Lulang forest, Namjagbarwa, Basumsto Lake, Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Yamtso Tso Lake, Karola Glacier, Tashilhunpo Monastery. We also had lunch at a local Tibetan's home. Our tour was led by Penpa (English-speaking). He was professional and enthusiastic in sharing about Tibetan's way of life. The knowledge he shared with us made Tibet even more mesmerising! Penpa is not the usual rah-rah type of guide and we appreciated this side of him. We also felt very safe and assured with him around - on our first day, we needed to obtain a pass to get through the highway but the office was closed for lunch. Penpa went back and forth a few times just so he can try to obtain the pass earlier and we need not wait for many hours. Penpa also had to encourage and pull my friend through the Laigu Glacier as all of us were worn out by the strong wind. While sharing about Tibetan's way of life, he would also drop some motivational quote which touched us deeply. Our driver was Ah Li. He was very skillful and safe. Thanks to his expert driving, we could take naps in the long car rides and reach every destination safely. Both Penpa and Ah Li were always early. They would greet us at the lobby or breakfast area, and it was always nice to see them as it means it's the start of another day's adventure! All our accommodation was comfortable and had sufficient amenities (equipped with room oxygen and humidifier). We could rest well every night! We also did not need to use the portable oxygen that was prepared in the car. Tibet is a beautiful place and our satisfying encounter with Tibet Vista has made the trip even more memorable and fun. Will definitely recommend Tibet Vista to anyone who wants to go Tibet!Written December 22, 2024

Phurbu’s deep knowledge of Tibetan culture and history brought every site to life, and his thoughtful recommendations ensured we had an unforgettable experience. - solewalker0 contributionsExcellent 9-day Private Group Tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu with Lake Namtso add-onWe had an exceptional experience on our 9-day private group tour in end-November 2024, from the time we were picked up at Lhasa train station, to the point we were dropped off at our hotel in Kathmandu. We booked a 9-day tour covering Namtso, Lhasa, Shigatse, Everest Base Camp, ending with an overland border crossing into Kathmandu. Throughout the whole journey, we were well taken care of by the Tibet Vista team. Our guide, Garong, was exceptional in his patience and his flexibility, as he accommodated our mid-trip amendments with grace. We also learned a lot from his vast knowledge of Tibetan history, culture and Buddhism. Our driver (sorry, didn't get his name) was also very competent and patient. Our Tibetan-Nepalese handover was also seamless. We were met with an equally competent Nepalese driver, who delivered us to our Kathmandu hotel with great humour and patience. It is a testament to the professionalism of Tibet Vista - they hire really good people, who made us feel we were in good hands, and well-taken care of throughout the whole trip.Written December 7, 2024
- MichaelaKeiser0 contributionsTibet in 8 days - stunning views and wonderful peopleWe enjoyed the tour a lot, met some great people and learned more about Tibet, its people, history and culture. A few things did not go as smooth as it should have, before and during the trip. At this point we would like to thank Zoe, our tour coordinator, for her great assistance at any time to work things out. She really did a wonderful job. Also, a big thank you to our guide Kun Chock and driver Nima, they did everything possible to fulfill our wishes.Written December 5, 2024
- ytchoo880 contributionsPrivate birding , sunset & Sunrise photography tour at TibetI joined Tibet Vista on a private birding, sunrise and sunset tour from 5th Nov 2024 to 11th Nov 2024. I had numerous communications with Lycoris Yang via email and Wechat on the requirements for the private tour. I am very disappointed that the tour agency did not meet my requirements. We were picked up from our hotel at 9.30am and returned to hotel at 5.30pm; periods which the sun is too bright and harsh for sun rise and sun set photography. Moreover, we arrived at the birding location around noon when there were few birds to see and photograph. The harsh light also made our photo blurry because of the heat wave. When I brought this problem up with Ms Lycoris Yang, she told me that her company does not do bird photography and her company only provides normal tourist tour. It is rather amazing that after all the communications on the requirements for a private tour, she had arranged a normal tourist tour for us. We feel that we have be scammed by Ms Lycoris Yang and her company should not advertise their birding tour services if they do not have the expertise to provide the service. However. I must acknowlege that the guide Mr Gelek provided good service and we are grateful to him. I do not recommend Tibet Vista for photography tourWritten November 26, 2024

Having selected this tour partially based on TA reviews, I can confirm that high ratings do justice for this company. Booking experience was perfect with Liam providing prompt, clear and detailed replies every time. Commitments made were delivered flawlessly.
The tour itself was managed very well by our guide, Phurbu, who shared a wealth of information on Tibetan culture and Buddhism in simple English, always with a smile and good humour. Time was well managed despite uncertainties due to crowds and road conditions, with ample time at the two highlights of the tour, Potala Palace and Everest Base Camp. This can be a tiring tour with the altitude and driving distances and Phurbu was accommodating of requests for breaks without compromising the group itinerary.
Happy to add my full recommendation for this tour. Caveat only being that the upgraded hotel option was worthwhile and tour cost needs to factor at least 3 percent additional fees for payment by foreign means. With professionals like Liam and Phurbu, it was still good value.

I discovered VISTA Tibet via YouTube. From first enquiry to my last, the Chengdu Offfice agent (Sal) gave me good advice on when to go, flights to Lhasa and helpful for my visa and with my Tibet Permit. I was also allowed to pay for the trip instalments with an easy link via email.
I was met at Lhasa on arrival and de escorted on departure, with a helpful Visa Tibet Agent to and from to Hotel in Lhasa.
Although the group of 13 were booked in different hotels, we had a dedicated bus and so this did not interrupt the itinerary. On the first couple of days we spent viewing famous Monestrys in Lhasa. Sonam, the guide gave interesting historical information as we toured these venues. In particular he was careful to keep an eye on those of us who found the altitude and the many, many steps to the lofty parts of these buildings hard work ( we had lots of rests).
On the journey fown to Everest base camp the accommodation was excellent, guve n the remoteness of where we were (Tibet) and the towns we visited. Even at base camp the accommodation was and food was great.

When I decided that this was the right year for Tibet, I started doing some research and the obvious name that came up was Tibet Vista.
I reached out and in a very short time I got a reply from Kristin.
I had multiple email exchanges with her to organise all aspects of my trip and she always gave me timely and precise responses leaving me with the idea that I would get the kind of support and assistance I required even during the trip. And very honestly, whenever I had a request even while in Tibet, even if it was during golden week (Chinese holiday), she was always there for me. So, thank you Kristin for organising my trip to Tibet and for your kind support.
The country. Two words: AMAZING and UNMISSABLE.
It's not just about what you see with the eyes, it's more about what you feel with the heart. Tibet is beautiful and has so much to offer and is definitely worth visiting.
Seeing mount Everest from up close is humbling and awe-inspiring.
If you love nature, culture, history and a bit of monasteries and local traditions, this tour is for you.
The actual tour.
I think that what made my Tibet experience so unforgettable and satisfying was also the way the tour was organised. It was flawless. From beginning to end, smooth, no issues and even when minor things were there our guide was super.
This brings me to the thanks to guide and driver who made everything so enjoyable for me and for the group at large.
A very special thanks to the guide Keldor.
He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the rich history and culture of Tibet. His deep understanding of the local customs and his ability to convey stories so clearly truly enriched our experience.
He went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and engaged, always ready to answer questions and provide interesting insights. Whether it was guiding us through the stunning landscapes of the Himalayas or explaining the spiritual significance of ancient monasteries, he made sure every moment was meaningful.
If you’re considering a trip to Tibet, I can’t recommend this guide enough. He made the tour not just a visit, but a memorable journey.
BTW, he also makes a killer lemon-ginger & local herbs tea. A must especially in the very low temperatures. It also doesn't hurt that he is an amazing photographer.
Tibet is a magical place, and I believe that, with the right guide, it becomes an experience of a lifetime.
Equally important, our driver, Dadun, was exceptional.
Navigating the winding roads of the Tibetan landscape is no small task. His expertise behind the wheel ensured that we felt safe and secure throughout the journey, allowing us to fully enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. He was always punctual, ensuring our itinerary flowed smoothly and that we made the most of every day. The minibus was always impeccably clean, which made the days with long drives comfortable and pleasant. He always greeted us with a smile!
My experience was so good that, were I to return to Tibet, I would ask - if possible - to have the same tour guide&driver combo (Keldor and Dadun).
Hope this helps others who are looking to explore the wonders of Tibet.
XOXO, Elena from Italy

Our 8-day monastery and Everest Base Camp tour exceeded all expectations. Our guide Tserina was a true gem - her deep knowledge of Tibetan monasteries and culture brought each location to life with fascinating insights and stories. Her endless energy and enthusiasm made even the longest days enjoyable.Special mention to our fantastic driver who went above and beyond, even treating us to some incredible drone footage of our journey.
The itinerary was perfectly balanced between monastery visits and the breathtaking journey to EBC. Getting to experience both Tibet's rich spiritual heritage and natural wonders was truly special.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience the magic of Tibet with knowledgeable local experts.

We travelled in a group of 10 with Jigme as our guide. He made sure everything was well-organized and that we saw everything on the itinerary. A warm person with a great sense of humor.
The program gave a great insight into Tibetan culture: we visited countless monasteries, had lunch with a local family and saw a traditional Tibetan performance.
It was most important that the company for our Tibet trip was reliable. With this in mind, I would wholeheartedly recommend TibetVista.
Special props to Gemma who was our point of contact in TibetVista. She had our Tibet Travel Permits sent by express post to Chengdu and helped us book train tickets out of Tibet. When our train was cancelled the day before departure, she rebooked our tickets to fit our onwards travel program. Thank you!

We boarded the Qinghai-Tibet Railway at Xining (Qinghai), went on a 1972 kilometers, 20+ hour overnight(sleeper) train ride to Lhasa Tibet, the Holy Land. At Lhasa, we met our guide Lhasa Lhakpa of Tibet Vista, who took us through the itineraries seamlessly. Tibet Vista took care of the necessary permits while our guide Lhakpa was adequately knowledgeable. In the 8 short days, Lhakpa showed us many interesting snapshots of the way-of-life of the people in his religious homeland, including a home visit. Weather in June was hot but bearable. We met many interesting people and took countless photographs to show envious folks at home. Highly recommended.

This trip was truly once in a lifetime! Our tour guide Jing Me and bus driver Mr Jong did an incredible job sharing Tibetan culture, getting us around, bringing us to delicious restaurants, and ensuring we were safe, comfortable, and having fun. The bus is equipped with water, AC, heat, and oxygen so there is nothing to worry about.
Jing Me’s jovial and funny personality kept us entertained, and he was always ready to answer questions and explain further. His two decades of experience as a tour guide shows through his knowledge and understanding of Tibetan culture and he communicates it through a friendly manner in strong English.
Highlights included sleeping in a tent at the base of Mt Everest and seeing the mountain itself, learning about the history and culture of Tibet while touring monasteries, and being able to immerse ourselves into Tibetan culture through watching traditional dances, eating dishes like yak stew, and listening to monks chanting mantras.
Can’t recommend Tibet Vista enough and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to having Jing Me as your guide!
On Tibet Vista as a whole: although Tibet is a tough place to visit, the team at Tibet Vista was easy to reach throughout the permit process and communicated quickly and efficiently.

This trip was absolutely incredible. Not only the breathtaking views, but the constant help from Liam pre trip, and from Lhak Pa, our amazing guide during the tour itself. In one incident at Everest Base Camp, my mother was experiencing severe altitude sickness and couldn't breathe. Lhak Pa, our guide, was so kind and patient to help keep her warm with blankets, the heater, and to ensure she gets her oxygen levels up with the oxygen cannister. It was late at night but Lhak Pa still stayed awake to help take care of my mother together with me. As I was also experiencing some altitude sickness, it was hard but Lhak Pa helped us get through it and we felt so much better after the long and cold night. Mount Everest also surprised us with a clear and beautiful view in the early hours of the morning. The tour group was also another amazing factor that truly made our entire trip fun and warm. We went through the coldest nights together, became unwell and breathless together, we stuck through all the ups and downs together. It really brought us closer and bonded us like family. I wouldn't change a single thing. And it was a good choice on our end to upgrade to 4* hotels as they had higher oxygen levels compared to the 3* hotels. Also, the rooms and breakfast were great too. Highly recommend this trip, and to add 1 or 2 extra days before the tour starts in Lhasa to acclimatise to the altitude. We had 1.5 days and I completely knocked out upon reaching. The altitude really got to me. So overall, highly recommended and a big thank you to Liam, Lhak Pa and the Tibet Vista team!

We thoroughly enjoyed our travels in Tibet. This itinerary dobers Lhasa, Shigatse and Everest Base camp. Overall, the itinerary had a good balance of culture, nature and adventure and we found that we were able to immerse ourselves in the rich history and breathtaking landscapes of Tibet.
We are also impressed by the pre-trip arrangements and service. Amy from the tour operator meticulous planned our itinerary and provided us with helpful suggestions that fit our interests and preferences. She was very responsive and attentive and proactively resolved any potential issues we may have otherwise had with our visas and permits, making our travel smooth and worry-free.
We left with deep impressions of and a strong desire to return to Tibet and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Tibet.

This was an opportunity to satisfy my #1 bucket list goal, and I was very happy with my experiences in touring five monasteries in Lhasa (4) and Shigatse (1) and in visiting the Tingri base camp of Mt Everest. Our guide, Lhakpa Tenzin, is a walking encyclopedia of Tibetan Buddhism and associated history, and he answered every question put to him in a thorough manner. Being 75 years old meant that I could not always keep up with the group and had to stop and rest a bit while doing deep breathing, but Lhakpa kindly waited for me to catch up before describing views from observation points or details in particular temples and monasteries. He also consulted us repeatedly about our preferences for various itinerary items. Our first attempt at seeing Everest was blocked by snow, and his experience led him to get us rooms at a hotel only ten minutes from the north gate so that we could easily try again at an early hour the next day. The next day brought sunshine and clear skies and safe travels over an intervening pass, and we had a magical experience seeing Everest from the Tingri base camp and numerous observation points. We also had a great lunch at a stop to view a typical Tibetan home.
The only negative worth mentioning is that the person assigned to meet us at the train station on day 1 and take us to the airport on day 8 was late.
