        Amazing Tibet Tour
For my mother's 75th birthday, we (her sons) dicided to treat her to a trip to the roof of the world. We had a great time with our guide Lhakdon, who is the most knowledgable guide we have ever had. The sights, sounds, and smells are proof that this is a magical place. A once ina lifetime experience you must do!

Marvelous and Magical Experience in Tibet
After so many years my wife and I waited for this moment, finally our dream came true.                              . We landed at Tibet in the mid of Oct, the places and scenery are magical like the fairy tales as many ancient artifacts and buildings including temples and monasteries. Starting from our arrival until departure, all went smooth and impressive. Our private 7 day trip in Tibet covered city tours in Lhasa and outside of the capital. Yamdrok Lake, Shigatse and Gyangtse were also inclusive on our itinerary, besides there were many else in this trip. Unfortunately, we both needed resting time on our first day to become accustomed to the climate of Tibet Plateau. As oxygen level was down, we felt dizzy and breathed longer and deeper. However everything turned exciting on the second day onward. This tour would not be great without our exceptionally kind guide Lhakdon and the driver Gyatso. Both made out tour run smooth, surely we felt fun and joyful.  We were very interested to listen the history, culture and Buddhism during the tour. Intercity roads are well developed therefore journey time was relatively short and convenient, we did not feel too exhausted. The overall selected accommodation were good. Our room at xinding hotel viewing to Potala Palace was superb. Other hotels out of Lhasa were good enough. There are few more highlighted tourist spots we must visit in the future. This is the reason we will be back. This Tibet experience is marvelous and unforgettable in our life time.

        Outstanding Tibet Experience
We had a 5 days tour - actually 3 effective days, because day 1 and 5 were travel days from and to Beijing. The remaining 3 days were packed with a lot of Tibetan culture, i.e. temples and monasteries, as well as the spectacular Tibetan landscapes in the Yardung and Lhasa River valleys and the surrounding mountain ranges. Our knowledgeable, experienced and super-friendly guide Lhakdon gave us great insight in local topics and took care of us like being part of family. Once in a lifetime experience!

        A Dream Realized
My wife and I were frightful that our desire to visit Lhasa was to remain a dream deferred. However, despite a mix up with the wording of our names on our Tibet permits we managed to travel to Lhasa, where we were met by our ever so charming guide Namgyal Dolker. Our first wonderful impression of Dolker only intensified as the trip progressed. We were able to visit Sangjiedonggu, Sera Monastery, Norbulinka Park, the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple, the bazaar at Barkhor Street and a nunnery. Dolker was very well versed in Tibetan culture and was an inexhaustible storehouse of knowledge pertaining to various facets of Tibetan history. Our only disappointment was that we had not scheduled more days in Lhasa and had more time to spend with Dolker.

2 day private tour (part of 12 day Beijing/Lhasa/Xi'an/Shanghai private tour with Travel China Guide)
We had a lovely time with our guide Namgyal Dolker. She was very friendly and had very detailed knowledge of Tibet and Tibetan Buddhism. Two days of touring was a great introduction to Lhasa and doing a Kora around the Polta Palace the morning of our flight to Xi'an was a real experience, something Namgyal had recommended. One tip is to get a window seat on the flight in/out. The view was amazing: a vast sea of snow topped mountains and glacial rivers. Tibet is beautiful and was a nice change of scenery and culture on our tour of China. I have wanted to travel to Tibet for many years and I am very glad I finally did.

        Lhasa 4 day Tour
We met our wonderful guide Lhakdon with Travel China Guide Tours-Tibet, as we walked out of the Lhasa Airport. Lakdon and our driver Pencho proceeded to drive us to Lhasa while giving us a great review and introduction to Tibet, Lhasa and history of the region. The actual tour started the next morning as we visited the Sera & Dreprong Monastery’s and the Summer Palace. Lhakdon had incredible command of the sites and history that combined with the amazing sites themselves was way beyond our expectations! The rest of the tour continued with Lakton’s command of the history and culture. Nothing less than fantastic! This tour was our 3rd China Guide Tours trip and as seniors we find the security and pace to be great!

        Lhasa weekend
We visited Lhasa on a long weekend and Lhakdon was our guide. She was knowledgeable and showed us the important sites in the area during our short visit. Greatly enjoyed the visit and her knowledge.

        Beautiful Lhasa
We had the tour of a lifetime in Tibet. Lhakdon collected us from the train and looked after us with the greatest of care. From teaching us about Bhuddism to wonderful stories included with everything she showed us. We saw beautiful monasteries and felt safe and looked after. Tibetan life was shown to us generously and truly and it was an experience that I shall never forget and treasure always. If you wish to see Tibet through the eyes of the extraordinary and beautiful Tibetan people then go on this tour.

        Lhasa Tour with Lhakdon
We spent 4 days and 3 nights in Lhasa with Lhakdon as our tour guide. Lhakdon was extremely knowledgeable and interesting, and being Tibetan Buddhist herself, she gave us a great deal of insight into the everyday lives of the people of Lhasa. We visited beautiful Buddhist temples as well as local authentic eateries and tea shops. Also, Lhakdon gave us plenty of great recommendations for places to visit on our own free time. My wife and I were traveling with our 10-year old son, so to keep him interested we chose to cut a few tours a little short and wanted to keep a flexible schedule. Lhakdon was extremely accommodating and helped us pick and choose the right activities to keep things fun and interesting. Lhakdon and our driver, Lhakba, were a great team, very organized. We were never kept waiting and always supplied with plenty of bottled water. I would absolutely recommend Lhakdon without hesitation for anyone visiting Tibet.

        3 day visit to Lhasa
We just returned from a 13 day trip to Beijing-Lhasa-Xi'an. The entire process was smooth-sailing and professional. Our consultant, Wendy, worked closely with us to tailor our itinerary to our party and preferences. We spent 3 days in Lhasa. Our English-speaking guide in Lhasa was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and experienced. Wang gave us insight into the Tibetan culture, religion and language. Wang was very patient with us, accommodating my husband's request to take pictures with monks on the street. He assisted us with pushing our youngest child (age 5) in her stroller which was so helpful especially with not being used to the high altitude in Lhasa. The driver was very skillful and helpful and the mini-van was clean and smoke-free. We stayed at the Shangri-La in Lhasa, which had luxurious rooms and delicious food. The lunches included as part of the tour were wonderful as well. The tour guide Wang made useful suggestions for local dishes. We were able to sample roasted yak and yak dumplings (momo). We had some trouble with altitude sickness early during our trip. We flew into Xining, Qinghai and made the mistake of walking too much during the day we spent there. Several of our group had dizziness and headaches. We then took the overnight train to Lhasa. There were amazing views from the train. The land is breathtaking and we saw a lot of yaks and prayer flags. We spent the first day in Lhasa just relaxing. We were out of breath with minimal exertion and several of us continued to have dizziness and headaches and tingling in our hands/feet. We were able to push on without major issues and did fine on Day 2 of our trip. We were able to climb the over 700 steps up and down Potala Palace on Day 3 of our trip. Day 4 was spent traveling to the airport. Overall we had a very memorable trip and would not hesitate to book with Travel China Guide again in the future.

Amazing Voyage through Lhasa, Gyangtse, and Shigatse
What a fantastic tour Travel China Guide Tours arranged for me! Working with the agent Selina Wu, I received great service including prompt replies to all of my questions and clear explanations as to how any special arrangements (for my restricted diet in particular) would be handled. I began arranging a trip to Tibet early in 2018 -- Selina took care of everything in the preparations, requesting my documents for the visa in a timely manner in particular. As the day for the trip approached, I was in frequent contact with Selina, who connected me with my professional guide Phurbu Tsering. From the moment I arrived at the airport, I felt that I was in the hands of a well-planned organization. So we headed to Lhasa for the first two days of touring monasteries and shopping at the bizarre. Phurbu escorted our group through the tours, enlightening us about the historical and artistic background along each step of the way. As we headed out to Gyangtse and Shigatse, the driver of our van was highly skilled in navigating through the winding Himalayan Mountains. As a woman traveling alone, I always felt safe and had a great time viewing the sights with the other fun members of our group who got along great. By the time we reached Mount Everest -- wow -- all I could really say about that experience is it was worth the trip of a life-time to see. I felt as if I had really accomplished something, and Phurbu distributed hand-signed certificates documenting our having reached this goal. On the trip back, we stopped to see a monastery we'd missed on the way out -- due to a road being closed. Then on Sunday I was driven to the airport and was on my way home with memories to last a lifetime.

        Tibet visit
Lhakdon was a wonderful choice as guide. Being Tibetan herself she has some fascinating insights into the people and the culture. For example, she told us that Tibetans don't tend to smoke, as this would be harmful to others heath. She also told us that if a Tibetan is going to eat meat they will more likely eat a large animal, like a Yak, than smaller animals. This way fewer lives are lost. There was a lot we learned in our short stay. We did not get a chance to do any real hiking with Lhakdon, but she says she leads a 3 day hike in the mountains using Yaks as pack animals. This would have been great fun, but time was a factor. If I get a chance to go back I will certainly ask if Lhakdon is available. We traveled with Travel China, which made life so much easier. They handled the Tibetan permit as well as transportation and accommodation. They also helped us pick an itinerary that matched our interests. There is one thing that may not be on your list of things to see when visiting Tibet, and that is the Lhasa Tibetan Opera. I don't think I have ever seen such an extravaganza. They use the mountain behind to full extent with at least 3 very distinct levels of stage. They have huge props that roll in and off the stage and the number of performs/singers/dancers counts in the multiple 100's. They even had Yaks, horses and sheep as part of the production. Don't let the term opera throw you, you would have to be feeling awfully grumpy not to enjoy this. The one cultural thing that struck me was there was no applause at the end. The actors playing the king and queen came and stood at the front of the stage while the others stood arranged behind, singing. If you were so inclined you could go get your picture taken with them.

        8 days in Tibet
We had a wonderful time experiencing Tibet. Our guide Lhakdon was extremely knowledgeable and considerate . Several times she went above and beyond what was required to make sure we were comfortable. Our tour comprised of Lhasa - Gyangtse - Shigatse - Dingri - the Everest Base Camp - Shigatse - Lhasa. Lhakdon and her driver Lhakba were an incredible team. I highly recommend requesting her services if you plan to visit Tibet. Using Travel China Guide has been an excellent experience for us. Looking forward to our next trip.

Great under all points of view
We have booked a very interesting tour with Travel China Guide, but unfortunately our trip finished still in Tibet, in the third day, due to my disease. Hopefully, I have already left the hospital and I'm finally enjoying my home, while I recover from the surgeries. i'm absolutely thankfull for the treatment we have received from Travel China Guide during this tough weeks. All the reimbursements required were done right away and all the support we needed from translating to suppliers buying were made without any hesitation. Most important of all, we would like to extol all the help from Lhapka and her team in Tibet. They were there for us all the time and for every need during the 4 days we have spent in Lhasa. If it wasn't for their attitude and very good will, those days would be way tougher and probably I would not be as healthy as he is today. It will be impossible for me to forget the Tibet team! They were suppers! As we had our trip stopped still in the beggining, we are already planning about coming back to China, which might happen in 2019. I have no doubt doubt that the Tour Company will be Travel China Guide.

China Tours Lhasa Tibet - Potala Palace
the city is not large and we could have walked it, but we had a nice van and guide hired to show the palace. Dorjee was our fantastic guide thru the palace. Now remember, this place is 12,000 ft elevation and difficult to just walk up the 150 meters of steps. But seeing 80 year old native women barely standing and walking up the stairs gave us the encouragement that we could make it. And what a reward you get when you reach the palace! We read numerous reviews where the trek was a waste of time - HA the waste of time was reading those negative reviews. This place was an outstanding highlight. Our guide did make all we saw very interesting and informative. What we didn't expect was a stop at the Saint's Chapel and the revered gold statue of Chenrezi - Budda of Compassion. It is rare to be able to visit Tibet, not everyone can navigate the special visitors visa process, so if you make the cut and actually visit Tibet, be sure to climb the stairs to enter the Palace!

We appreciate our tour guide Lhakdon for touring us and taking care of us during our trip. She was full of knowledge of the history and religious practices of the place. Her good english accent made all things more easier. She made sure we were healthy and she also helped us through with our baggage problem at our departure, by negotiating a lower price. We appreciate her for her overall efforts.

And for those who are coming to Tibet, you should know that altitude sickness is a real thing :D. So prepare before for it as you can.
