- Sightsee659650238860 contributionsExcellent serviceAmazing tour company! We only had a short time for a day tour but Kiyo planned an itinerary for us which was superb. We wanted to have a historical tour and at the same time try good local food - we got exactly what we hoped for. We were brought to the hidden gems of HK and it was a wonderful day. When we had an unexpected medical emergency, Kiyo went out of his way to ensure we get the medical attention and care we needed. Really grateful.Written February 7, 2025
- Sarah M0 contributionsHK Island Food TourOur tour guide Alex was excellent, he was very knowledgeable teaching us about the local customs and origins of the different food we tried. - G6536SQjeffd0 contributionsA Michelin-Starred Culinary Adventure with Mel!My food tour with Mel was an absolute highlight of my trip! From start to finish, he curated an unforgettable experience, taking me to several Michelin-rated restaurants and introducing me to some of the most delicious and unique dishes I’ve ever tried. Each stop was carefully chosen, showcasing the best of Hong Kong’s culinary scene, from traditional favorites to hidden gems I never would have found on my own. Mel’s knowledge of food, history, and local culture made the tour even more enjoyable. He explained the stories behind each dish and gave great recommendations on what to try. The variety was incredible, and I loved how he balanced the tour between well-known classics and surprising new flavors. If you’re a foodie visiting Hong Kong, this tour is an absolute must! Mel is an excellent guide with a passion for great food, and I left feeling full, happy, and with a newfound appreciation for Hong Kong’s incredible culinary scene. Highly recommend!Written February 2, 2025
- 459sthompson0 contributionsWhat a Memorable DayWe had the most fabulous time with Alfred. He was well on time, friendly and enthusiastic about the day ahead. We went straight to the cable car station via the metro and were able to upgrade to a Crystal cabin which he helped us arrange. He took lots of photos for us and was very knowledgeable about all aspects of Hong Kong, past and present and great to chat to. The cable car ride is a must, as is Big Buddha and the Lotus Temple is beautiful. The bus ride to Tai O was comfortable and short and the village is very interesting. We enjoyed the boat trip and meal at the Hotel which is included and returned to our hotel a little tired but very happy. I can’t recommend this trip enough and would ask for Alfred again if we ever come back to Hong Kong.Written January 31, 2025

- KirksOnTour0 contributionsSo much more than just a food tourWe did a Hawker Centre Tour in Singapore that was just food, food, food… which got a bit boring after a while. This tour in Hong Kong’d Kowloon was so much more. Mel was superb. He talked about the history, what it was like to live here today, the neighbourhoods, the background to the restaurants we visited AND introduced us to all the significant food dishes. It was great. Considering it lasted for 4 hours I am amazed how the time flew by! I think this tour is great value for money and I highly recommend it.Written January 21, 2025

- FS5670 contributionsPerfect exprience of Hong Kong IslandOur tour with Ivy was absolutely perfect — she made Hong Kong’s vibrant food scene and culture come alive in the most delightful way! We began with a classic dim sum experience at Luk On Kui Tea House on Des Voeux Road West in Sheung Wan. It was the perfect start to the day. Walking along Wing Lok Street and Des Voeux Road West, we explored the fascinating world of dried seafood, shark fins, and Chinese medicinal goods. Next, we savored a bowl of the most delicious wonton noodle soup at Mak An Kee on Wing Kut Street. We then hopped on The Escalator, stopping for a cup of Hong Kong-style milk tea at Lan Fong Yuen on Gage Street, where the creamy, rich flavor truly lived up to the hype. Walking through the Graham Street wet market, Ivy gave us a glimpse of the bustling local market life, with its vibrant colors, fresh produce, and authentic energy. A ride on the iconic ding ding tram brought us to Wan Chai, where the food adventure continued with the most succulent char siu (BBQ pork) at Joy Hing on Stewart Road. To top it all off, we ended the tour on a sweet note. trying out some local baked sweets. Ivy was the perfect guide — knowledgeable and warm. Indeed, she did such a great job that we decided to go on another tour with "Hello Hong Kong" to explore Kowloon, where Ivy helped with the booking and making it all happen.Written January 19, 2025
- FS5670 contributionsA Perfect Kowloon Adventure with Mel!Wow! We had the absolute best time with our guide, Mel! ❤️ FOOD: Starting in Sham Shui Po, we explored the bustling Apliu Market and Pekho Street food market, sampling Michelin-listed delights like Hop Yik Tai’s silky rice rolls and Roasted Goose, but also more local food we propably would not have come accros on our own - like snake soup. We also vised Mammy’s Pancake in Jordan. Every stop was a culinary adventure, offering everything from egg tarts to durian fruit—a true feast for the senses! However, what impressed us the most was Mel's openness and willingness to adjust the tour to our specific interests. CULTURE: Among the this to mention, we really enjoyed our visit at the Sam Tai Tze Temple. Here Mel shared knowledge about Doism, but again we really got impressed by his skills as a guide, when he took us to explore the skyline views from the Pekho Municipal Building and engaged us in a fascinating talk about Hong Kong’s housing and culture. SHOPPING: In Jordan, the Yue Hwa Emporium was a highlight—I even went back later to pick up some beautiful porcelain, thanks to Mel’s great advice. The Temple Street Night Market added even more energy and local charm to the evening. The tour was expertly planned, and Mel’s insightful guidance and warm personality made the experience unforgettable. I can’t recommend this tour enough for an authentic and delicious dive into Hong Kong life and exploring the many rich areas of Kowloon!Written January 19, 2025

Money well spent!!! Sinclair was amazing and ensured that we saw as much as possible in the time we had. Even giving us some suggestions for the following day. Fantastic tour visiting areas of Hong Kong we would not have a visited doing a tour independently. Our guide made us feel very welcome and even took us to a Fairwood cafe in Aberdeen where the first British settlers landed.
Sinclair’s English was very good and as it was a private tour adapted the itinerary to match our needs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip around Hong Kong with our lovely guide Sinclair. Sinclair listened to what we wanted to get out of our day and the day could not have gone better. We took the bus to Victoria Peak where the views were spectacular and also the water ferry at Aberdeen was a highlight as was watching how they sold the fish. The information and interesting facts we learned about and saw at Hong Kong were so informative. The restaurant Sinclair took us for lunch was very enjoyable and it was nice to eat like the locals and the quality of the food was excellent. We had a great time at the flower market where the orchids and selection of flowers were so beautiful. I loved my buys at the ladies market and also looking at the goldfish and pets too(I wish I could have took the flowers and pets home with me😊). We enjoyed our trip on the star ferry too. Our day was also made more special by the time and care Sinclair took taking photos of us throughout the day and the natural photos were lovely too. We started our tour with a guide but ended our day with a friend. Thank you so much Sinclair for making our day so personal and special and memories we won’t forget. We highly recommend Sinclair for your guide as you will not be disappointed .

The guide was extremely knowledgeable, providing constant stream of information.
The views from the peak were stunning in all directions
Using public transport made us feel part of the city, and the detailed tours of the various markets was both fascinating and eye opening about the local culture. Lunch at a real non touristic restaurant was a real insight into local life

Sinclair picked us up from our hotel and gave us a wonderful day tour of Hong Kong. He was very friendly and listened to what we wanted to do. He was interesting and informative the whole day. We travelled on the underground, ferry, service bus, local bus and water taxi as well as on foot, but not too much on foot so it wasn't too tiring.
We visited Victoria Peak, the fishing harbour, a temple as well general sightseeing. The high spot for me was having lunch in a restaurant where the local people go for their meals.

This is an excellent private tour of Hong Kong which will give an insight into the varied aspects of life in Hong Kong. Our tour guide Yung was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable with good English. The tour was flexible and tailored to what we wanted to do and included travel on buses, the ferry, a ding ding tram and the underground train. Victoria Peak is fantastic and the views are stunning as are the waterfront views. But this tour included the markets and gave a very good insight into the everday lives of people in Hong Kong and the traditions and customs and included a visit to a temple. The fish and flower markets are amazing. Lunch was very good. Our guide Yung was very efficient and helpful and the tour was done at our pace. Yung sent us some lovely photos of the day. I feel as though we got a great insight into Hong Kong and had a lovely day. Thank you Yung. I highly recommend this tour.

We were initially unsure about splashing out for a full day private tour, however it turned out to be one of the best days of our entire trip. Ryan met the 6 of us at our hotel as arranged. We had arrived late evening the night before and I have to say we weren't comfortable with the unfamiliar surroundings of the area (Kowloon) at night.
Ryan took us everywhere we had already requested, and more. His knowledge of the history and economics of HK was amazing and we found ourselves visiting so many places that we would never have gone to ourselves. Ryan also tried really hard to find us frequent food and drink stops that we would enjoy (and understanding our English need for beer and wine!). At the end of the trip we were confident to explore the city further the next day, and went to various places recommended by Ryan, none of which disappointed. Having Ryan show us how to use the different forms of HK transport was invaluable. Ryan also took the trouble to help us get our perfect photos, usually involving us all NOT looking at the camera which gave us far more amusing photos than the standard poses! Thank you Ryan - amazing day - and thank you Hello Hong Kong!

I went on a private walking tour with Alfred. It was my first day in Hong Kong, and I had never been to the city before. In six hours we walked a lot, went in and out of the subway and covered a lot of ground on Hong Kong Island, and in Kowloon. We visited flower market, pet market, ladies, market, prison, Nan Lian Garden and monastery and several famous temples in Hong Kong. And more!!! I learned how to use the subway and was able to do it all again on my own and considered myself quite adventurous. It was a phenomenal walking tour and Alfred was always aware of where I was even though where we walked was very crowded with many people since it was right before the Chinese new year. As a single female, I felt very safe with Alfred and safe throughout our six hours of the tour. He also took many photos of me, which was great to review that evening after the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and I highly recommend Hello Tours.

Hi
What is the situation in HK? With protests ongoing for the last few months, is it safe to travel?
It would be helpful to get some insight from those who have visited recently.
Regards,
Ash

How would protests affect this walking tour? I'm traveling to Hong Kong soon and would like to take this tour. However, I'm worried about the closed MRT stations, etc.
Written October 3, 2019
Hello, sorry for the delayed response. The guide covered all of our transportation fees during the tour so we did not purchase a MTR ticket.
Enjoy your travels!

Sorry but Trip Advisor's stupid posting guidelines preclude me from sending you anything with an actual email address. Makes no sense except that perhaps they get a commission if it is booked through their site rather than directly.
