What to expect
Convene with your guide and group at a designated meeting point in the Sheung Wan district of Hong Kong. Begin the tour with a dim sum breakfast at a nearly 100-year-old teahouse. Then continue to a family-run, Michelin-recommended restaurant to sample wonton noodles accompanied by milk tea—a culinary relic of Britain’s colonial rule. Following a ride on the famous Ding Ding Tram (at your own expense), you’ll sample char sui (roasted meat) before satisfying your sweet tooth with dan tat (egg tart) from a 60-year-old bakery. Throughout the tour, peek into local tea shops, a family-run soy sauce producer, dried seafood and medicine shops, and the city’s oldest wet market. The tour concludes at your final stop.

We had an excellent food tour with Jane! We went to multiple places and tried many types of food, including dim sum, spring rolls, buns, hot tea, won ton noodle soup, iced milk tea, roasted meat (pork) and an egg tart. Most of the places were Michelin-recommended and the food quality was excellent and plentiful! Jane also provided a great deal of interesting information related to Hong Kong and its people. Could not recommend enough!

My husband and I took the small group food tour during our trip to Hong Kong, and I highly recommend it. Booking was easy through the Hello Hong Kong website, and the information received prior to the tour re our guide and where to meet was very helpful. Mel was our tour guide, and he made the tour interesting and fun! While all of the food was delicious, the highlight for us was the wonton noodles at Mak's Noodles. I also especially liked Mel's explanations of the various shops in Sheung Wan selling dried fish, ginseng, and medicine, as well as the stop at the candy and tea shop. It was really great to be able to explore Hong Kong with someone knowledgeable who can take us to places with amazing food that we might not otherwise find on our own and provide background and insight into Hong Kong culture. After the tour, we received e-mails with pictures and a list of the places we visited and food we tried, which is really nice for reference. Overall, a great tour!

My husband and I did this tour with 2 other couples (friends) and there were 3 other people on the tour. This number was just right and it was great getting to know the other people in our group. Our guide Mel was outstanding!! He not only took us to places where we had some of the best food on our week-long holiday in HK, but also gave a running commentry on the history of the places we passed by! We would have had no idea of what we were walking past if it were not for Mel! The food at the first place (dim sum restaurant) was amazing, as was every other stop - most with Michelain stars! The pace of the tour was just right for us (my husband and I are 60+). Thanks for the great day Mel - keep up the great work! Mark and Deb, Brisbane, Australia

I don't usually like group tours but this one was amazing for a number of reasons. It was small - only 4 of us - and Ryan was amazing! He took us to Michelin Star places, we got to try lots of different dishes / local cuisine and he was extremely helpful in giving us recommendations and explaining things. If I were to recommend doing one thing in Hong Kong it would be this tour. If were not for the typoon / rain, I would do another tour with Ryan!!

Ryan was brilliant giving us first hand knowlege on the food of Hong Kong. We got to taste some of the best food Hong kong has to offer - the pork a winner and into establishments where there is no english menu. I would highly recommend this tour

We went on a food tour from Sheung Wan to Wan chai with Agnes. She was friendly and full of information throughout the tour. The food we ate was delicious and it was a great environment to try lots of new foods i hadn't tasted before. Whilst we walked around Hong Kong between food places, she filled us in on facts about Hong Kong, the history of the area, and also talked about interesting buildings we passed too. We stopped at a little market to see the fresh produce on offer before taking a tram ride to our final stops. I really enjoyed our morning with Agnes and highly recommend it. As a new resident to Hong Kong I learnt so much about the food variety and the areas we were in, and will definitely be taking future visitors to try out the places she showed us. Thanks Hello Hong Kong!

We booked this walking food tour just to get a sense of the variety of Hong Kong food but got so much more! Ryan provided us with such an amazing, gracious, well-rounded introduction to the food, culture, history, politics, and landscape of Hong Kong that we felt like locals by the end. He even helped us navigate the MTR to get home! We couldn't have asked for a better or more welcoming tour, well worth the money!
