Lama Temple, also named Yonghe Lamasery, is Beijing's principal and largest Buddhist Temple. It was built in 1694, as part of the city wall for Emperor Yongzheng, prior to him rising to the throne in 1722. Yongzheng’s son - Emperor Qianlong, sent for 300 Tibetan monks and 200 Chinese students and housed them in the palace in 1744. From then on, the dwelling served as a temple and monastery, and considered one of the greatest centres of Buddhism outside of Tibet. How to get to Yonghe Temple By Subway: Take Subway Line 2 or Line 5 to Yonghegong (Yonghe Temple) Station, get out of the station from Exit F. Walk south for a few meters and turn east and you will arrive after about two minutes of walk. By Bus: 1. Take bus 13, 116, 117 or 684 and get off at Yonghegong Station. 2. Take bus 13, 18, 44, 75, 116, 684, Te 2 or Te 12, and get off at Yonghegong Qiao Dong Station. 3. Take bus 117 or 125, and get off at Yonghegong Qiao Bei Station.

          Very good tour experience
Andy was very fast to respond and could help to plan the schedule for a last minute visit to the Forbidden city. The guide assigned (John) was very experienced, he was able to navigate the way very well and could engage with great historical stories of the places we visited. Highly recommended!

          Good Admin
Happy China Tours kindly arranged our tickets to the Forbidden City. Trying to use the official website had proved impossible, we only had to show our passports and were in.

          The best of the best
We are KLM crew and fly here every day. We do many tours around the world, but this was the most nicest experience for me. Andy was very helpful and through him we met Vivie who was the best guide you can wish. A very well English spoken Andy and Vivie!! The bus was perfect and the driver was polite and drove safe… If I sent a question, Andy gave a very quick answers, even if it was in the middle of the night for him. Andy even helped us with the tickets for the forbidden city.. every question was not too much!! A real recommendation!!!

          Great stories
Our guide was very informative and told us lots of great stories that added to the experience. It was super busy as it was a Monday but our guide did a great job of avoiding some of the crowds and showing us places we never would’ve found on our own.

          AMAZING BEIJING!
My husband and I visited Beijing in 20 hours, so we needed an excellent organization to manage our time in the best way. First, we visited Forbidden City and Tiananman square very easily without any problems, thanks to Andy's help. He was very kind and helpful even on the day of the visit, answering all our questions and giving us all the information we needed. The organization was excellent. Absolutely recommended.

          Awesome
The visit started by Tiananmen place before entering into the Forbidden City. This is a must see when you are traveling to China (even during a transit of at least 20 hours). The long history of these places especially Forbidden City is amazing!! Andy was really helpful giving me advices & informations via WhatsApp to spend a wonderful time there... Definitely a must see whenever you visit Beijing
