          Excellent, a must!
We booked 2 weeks before arrival. Tickets are logged with your ID reference (passport in our case). We arrived at 7.40 and there was already a long queue. Gates opened at 8 and the queue moved very quickly. We saw many active giant pandas and red pandas and the park exceeded our expectations. Despite the large number of visitors, the park is so big that we often had moments alone with pandas in sight.

          A Lunch to remember.
Sunday lunch for two 20.10.24. Beautiful meal, delicious and more than we could eat. Service by Holly & Ruby excellent, attentive but not rushed. Lemon parfait was exceptional, my sticky toffee came home too full. 🚒🚒

          Great service
This "provincial" airport offers much more than Shanghai Pudong. Both in terms of food and shopping. When you want to go to the city by Airport-Express take care not to mix up the ticket counters for bus and for the train. They are just several meters apart.

          Huge Airport
Even though we got dumped at the far end of the airport and were trucked in by bus once inside it was a very classy terminal. Very modern and with a multitude of shops from high end to peasant level! Lots of choices to eat & catch a drink but thank goodness for the travelators as the distance between gates was measured in miles! As a welcome to China it was a real eye opener.

          Overcrowding overshadows fun
The park itself was quite impressive with its well-maintained grounds, cool buildings, and intriguing display items. The rides were enjoyable and well-designed, making for some fun moments. However, the experience was significantly marred by the park being at overcapacity. With wait times extending up to 3 hours for individual rides, we only managed to experience 2-3 rides throughout the day. Given the high entrance fee, this was a disappointing return on investment. The overcrowding severely impacted our overall enjoyment and made the day feel far less worthwhile than anticipated.

          Tour to the Great Wall
Fantastic tour to the wall. Pick up from hotel 7am. On the Wall by 9am. Plenty of places to eat, grab a coffee. We took the seated chair lift up and the toboggan down. Not an easy part of the wall to climb but well worth it for the views! Get there early to avoid the crowds.

Tour of Mutianyu, Summer Palace and lunch
Linda and the driver picked us up at our hotel & we headed to Mutianyu. On the drive Linda filled us in on the history of the Great Wall and surrounding areas. Once we arrived at our destination Linda shared more of the history of the Great Wall and some history of Chinese leaders. Linda was simply ADORABLE! She was very Professional, Personable, Knowledgeable, Interesting, Humorous and Fun to be around. If you book a private or small group English speaking tour request Linda to be your tour guide. She is amazing!!!! While on the trip Linda was quick to notice when we were needing a break or to slow down. She was also great to take pictures of us - as we wanted!
