Jenna was really informative right from the get go, from the time of booking online, we had great communication of where we had to meet who was our guide, and then meeting jenna our guide, who was so informative, calm, kind and courteous, her English was amazing, her knowledge of the location wa amazing. Lastly her thoughtful gesture if giving us a moment and a making a video of us was even beautiful. We highly recommend this company and most of Jenna. Gerry and Mel

Tiananmen Square and Forbidden city is must visit places when in Beijing, to get better understanding and experience, tour guide is highly recommended, our tour guide Jenna is very knowledgeable and experienced.

The drive to this section of the wall is a little bit farther but it is definitely worth it. Unique and beautiful . Our outstanding guide James picked us up at hotel on time and stayed with us the entire time. The water town is gorgeous. It included a drone show, cable car ride and more. Would highly recommend!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour to the Great Wall. Our tour guide, James, was super-friendly, had great knowledge, and was super accommodating--making sure that we achieved everything we wanted to on the day. James has great English, which made the tour very easy for us. The car for the 2 hour drive was comfortable, well-air-conditioned and a friendly driver. The wall itself was spectacular and we were taken to a piece that was far away from the usual tourist bustle. I think we only saw 5-6 other people the whole time we were there. We enjoyed this tour so much that we booked a different tour with the James for the following day. Highly recommend.

We booked 2 half day private tours with Catherine Lu for our trip to Beijing. The booking and preparation where very good, with prompt responses. Our first tour was an night tour. Our tour guide Angel was on time in our hotel and there was a comfortable car, with water bottles. Angel’s. The tour was great to get a view at this vibrant city at night. We saw the forbidden city and Tianmen Square from the car, then went to the Olympic stadium and went out to walk around and take pictures. Best part was walking in the lake area, eating some snacks and enjoying seeing the night live. Our second half day was a morning tour of the forbidden city. Our tour guide’s (Angel) English was not great, we had often a hard time understanding here, also because she’s soft spoken. Definitely not the fault of Angel, but we were a bit disappointed by the forbidden city - probably our expectations were too high.

The tour was interesting and I learned a lot about the history. Zhang Yigong (Tony) was a fantastic travel guide who is highly recommended. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered any questions I had throughout the tour.

Jenny was so amazing and we loved our 2 day private tour with her. She is so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about chinese culture and lifestyle as well.

Jenny with Catherine Lu tours is an amazing host and guide. We had an incredible time both at the Tiananmen square/ forbidden palace and the Great Wall. Easy to book and flexible for foreign travelers. Jenny and the other tour guides were also easy to get along with and very knowledgeable about the history and the various sites. I’d recommend this tour group to anyone coming from abroad to China and are looking for a meaningful experience.

The private 2 day tour was more than expected! Sonia was a great guide and told us a lot about the history for each place we visited. The local eating was also a plus! 100% recommend this tour!

Never being in Beijing before, saw great , important sights. Schedule was well thought out , on time , and very easy to get through all the security. All tickets were purchased ahead of time making it very easy to enter. Drivers scheduled and timely and never had to wait for rides. Our guide Sonya was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to spend time with. She taught us so much and helped us with photos with perfect spots. We had to be a little flexible due to weather and she set it up so we wouldn’t miss anything and made sure we were okay with any changes. We were in great hands with Sonya and felt comfortable trusting her with any decisions.

James was outstanding. He gave us just the right amount of information without spending too long on areas not of interest. He was super great at navigating the long lines and around the attractions. Lunch was amazing! And everything he ordered us was great. We had such a great day and would highly recommend it if you’re in Beijing!

Angela, our guide, was both friendly and knowledgeable. She made our tour far more interesting than if we'd explored on our own. Her explanations were clear and easy to understand, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience. She was truly delightful, and I wouldn't hesitate to take another tour with her in the future.

We had an amazing 2 day private tour with driver in Beijing. Seeing tiananmen square, forbidden city, temple of heaven, Great Wall and summer palace. We had such a great time. Jenny was just the perfect guide, so professional, informative, kind, thoughtful and interested to hear about us and our travels. She was so kind in speaking mandarin with my daughter who is learning at University. It was so lovely to see her chat in Mandarin. Jenny was just so lovely, very encouraging and teaching her a lot. This really made our trip. The drivers were really friendly and very careful with how they drive. 100% recommend this tour and hope you get Jenny as the guide. We will definitely book with Catherine Lu tours again.

It was a very busy day at the Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City. Our Guide, Angela, did a very thorough job of explaining the area and the palace history. She clearly knew her subject matter very well and I learned a lot about the Palace that I had not learned on previous visits. With all of that said there are a few improvements I would suggest. The Forbidden City is huge and there is also a lot of information to convey. Our guide could probably have shortened her summaries by 40 or 50% and still gotten the point across. Shortening the visit from 5 hours to 3.5 would have greatly improved the overall experience. Knowing how touchy it is to leave a review of less than full quality. I want to say that I would recommend the experience, but if you are feeling that things are dragging, maybe request a shorter version.
