- karinahomzova0 contributionsI dont recommend this tripVery bad decision, the organizator said us,we will have a lot of time and their driver will waiting for us on the airport hall at 7,30...after 2 hours of immigration office, we are 7,25 infront of officer and he told us we must stay on the airport, because we have not a lot of time..so our next trip was transfer hall and the organizator didnt accept to my money back...very bad decision..you have a not a lot of time for short excursionWritten January 4, 2024

- jaypatel310950 contributionsAn excellent layover trip to one of the seven wonders of the worldThe guide (in our case Grace) was a really fun person and knew a lot about the places we chose to visit. She also helped us to pay in the local currency to avoid paying more money for some things that we wanted to purchase. The driver was also really helpful and as one of my friends was feeling cold in his feet, he took him to buy warm socks that would help him. I'd definitely recommend it as they are very economical and fun people to take a trip with.Written June 15, 2020

- 258nataschaw0 contributionsGreat tour - highly recommendedI had a layover of 20 hours at Beijing. I decided for a layover tour including the great wall, summer palace and wangfujing shopping street. The driver picked me up on time at the airport and everything was very easy and fast. The driver was very nice and a save driver. He brought me to the great wall and got the entry ticket for me. While I checked out the great wall he was waiting for me. He brought me to summer palace, got me a ticket and again waited for me while I was visiting summer palace. My last stop was the shopping street where I had some food and did some shopping. After my last stop he brought me back to the airport. It was a very nice day. Booking the trip was very easy via e-mail and the response is super fast and informative. One also has the option to book a tour guide ( I did not do that). I would highly recommend such a tour to everyone who wants to use the layover time and see something of Beijing in a very easy way. It's much more time consuming and complicated to go to the great wall with public transport. Great offer and I would do it again for sure.Written January 6, 2020
- Ewa F0 contributionsperfect time with perfect organizationI definitely recommend a trip with this company. Very quick information, patient answers to many questions(I organized the trip for a group of 12 , so I always ask many questions to be sure about every detail ) We had a great guide -young beautiful girl (I forgot the name-sorry!) speaking English fluently (and this is not obvious in China) .She was very knowledgeable about the places we visited. She came to the airport on time and completed the trip in 100% according to the plan. She was not only a guide. She was also our assistant-she had notes about our flight and took care about getting to the airport on time.We didn't have to worry about buying tickets and queuing up. So we all were fully relaxed during all the time. We also got water and warm jackets, which were needed in the autumn season. thank you for your professional service!Written December 22, 2019
- Britishtrophy0 contributionsMy excellent day with HouI don’t even know where to start. So I’ll first say how handsome he is, polite, professional and prompt. He spoke basic English but was a sweetheart and told me where I needed to be on time and was always there was by for me. I felt totally safe and he even gave me a jacket and gloves to make sure I was warm on the wall. Being fashionably cute was a big mistake, thank goodness I had Sneakers too lol. I would do it all over again, it was a full day but a pleasurable and professional cool experience. I even had to go to the atm to get more cash out and Hou walked me there to make sure I was protected. Go with these people, they do what they advertise. Thank you for everything.Written December 2, 2019

She even recomended at our discreción to make some arregements on our tour bases in the time we had available. Our driver James was great, very helpfull, he even leanded us some money because we didin’t had time to exchange at the AirPort. He drove us just in time for our flight. If you are in Beijin for a little minute I highly recomend you consider them to make your tour! They sure know their business.Written December 1, 2019

- sirhenry20190 contributionsFast last minute bookingI rang these guys and got Adela on the phone at 7.30am whilst standing in the queue to get our 24 hour visa. We had a 10 hour layover but didnt want to stay in the airport. Adela had a driver at the airport to pick us up within 45 minutes. She was professional in handling myast minute booking and we met our driver easily and with no issues. Sadly our driver spoke no English (not one word) but we communicated through google translate. This was a shame but he was a good driver, cared for us well and made sure that we weren't getting ripped off by souvenir sellers or restaurants. Reccommend using these guys to book tours...it was very impressive to sort out our needs at such short notice.Written April 22, 2019

- shanjida0 contributionsThank youI can only say thank you. I booked a tour with them but somehow I couldn't go to Beijing. I emailed them to cancel my booking, they instantly refunded my deposit without asking any question. The tour didn't happen but LayOverTourBeijing did their best to help me. So really grateful.Written October 29, 2018
- Carlos N0 contributionsGreat Wall VistWe had very nice tour with our guide! She helped us a lot while we were in beijing and show us everything that she could in the short time we had. The only thing that i could point has not so positive, is that she didnt speak english. But it seems this is a cultural issue and most of people didnt do it. It was a bit hard to understand at the begining but after a while it was quite more easyer. So If you are looking for a nice tour for Beijing for a fair price i would recommend Layover tours definitely. Also, a word for the person who make the reservation for us, it was very pleasent and pacient with all of our questions and demands.Written July 1, 2018

We had a 5 hour layover in Beijing so we booked this tour in advance. In order to leave the airport you must obtain a visa from the airport. Unfortunately there was a large group ahead of us that needed their Visa’s ASAP so we ended up waiting about an hour or so to get ours. We had no way to communicate this to our tour operator who was waiting on the other side. When we finally got our visas, we found our tour operator where we planned to meet. He had a huge smile on his face and although our time for the tour was shortened he was still confident that we would get it done and be back in time for our flight. Our guide was very knowledgeable, funny and spoke great English. He also came up the wall with us and took some great shots of our family. We had a fantastic time and our driver was amazing. Definitely recommend this tour!

I was delayed for an hour getting my visa but Melody was still waiting at Starbucks when I finally got there. Had signed up to visit 4 sites in Beijing but after talking with Melody realized that I had to choose so I chose the Great Wall. Melody was great. Very knowledgeable & helpful. A truly nice person & loved that she had water in the car, I was thirsty. She took excellent pictures of me at the Great Wall. I would highly recommend this tour to family & friends because of Melody’s professionalism & caring attitude. Thank you Melody. All the best.

This is a review of my Beijing Private Layover Tour to Mutianyu The Great Wall of China.
I had a 14 hour layover on January 7th of 2020 at Beijing Capital Airport and had scheduled a tour with Adele on January 6th. She was able to help me out at the last minute with email responses, itinerary, and payment arrangements. The reviews online their website looked decent so I decided to give it a try. I met my tour guide "Beiber" as soon as I could get the 24 hour entry permit that is granted to travelers without a visa. This is mandatory if you wish to leave the airport! It was Adele who sent me a list of instructions and where to go and what to do so I could meet my tour guide who brought me to his van and we proceeded with the 1.5 hour drive through Beijing to the Great Wall of China. Now January is quite cold as it was 0 degrees Celsius outside! But if you forget to bundle up, have no worry the provide a heated van ride and a thick coat to keep you warm outside! Now for the journey to the wall we started out at base entrance in the small village and was given my entry ticket as well as my cable car and toboggan slide ticket. You take the cable car/ski lift up about 5 minutes which takes you to the wall. Make sure your not afraid of heights you get elevated above ground very quick! Once up their be sure you catch a scenic view of the mountains before you go up the stairs to the great wall. Once inside your in! Congratulations you have made it to Mutianyu the Great Wall of China! What an amazing place to visit, take lots of pictures and video it will be a memorable experience. I walked a total of 2 hours, 1 in each directions from entrance number 6 to the great corner tower number 1 according to the maps posted at the base village. This time of year with such cold weather had very little visitors so I was able to get quite a few shots with absolutely no one on the wall. It was a very special experience to remember for a lifetime. You are walking structure that has been around for thousands of years, very impressive. The steps can be quite steep and terrain slippery with snow, there are hand rails in the more difficult sections for assistance. Finally making my exit I decided to take the toboggan slide down and boy was it fun. After all what you do up there you will be hungry, my tour guide met me inside the restaurants in the village and we had 1 hour lunch before drive back to airport. They have subway, baskin robbins, Chinese food, hamburgers, coffee, and all sorts of food and the venders take Visa/MasterCard if you have no local currency. All in all if you have 8 hours of more of a layover at Beijing airport, you have to take this tour and experience the Great Wall of China for yourself. My total time for my tour lasted about 6 hours. Adele herself called me to check in during my lunch break to see how everything was going, at first I was thinking to visit other areas that they offer to take you such as Tienanmen square and the forbidden city, but I was so tired from the walk on the wall I decided to just call it a day and go back to airport. It is nice to know they are very flexible with there options and they are looking out for you. Great accommodations all around. In summary if you have an extended stay in Beijing and want to experience the Great Wall give Beijing Private Layover Tour a chance. Am glad I did!

We had a layover in Beijing from Midnight to 9:50a.m. Rather than try and sleep on the uncomfortable benches and wanting to see some China on the way to Thailand,I started a search for what we could do in those hours. I started asking about getting to the Great wall for Sunrise. I asked several sites .No one could do it. However this group contacted me finally with a plan. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! We were picked up at 3:30am. Our Driver took us around Tiananmen square at night all lit up. (Which was special to us on this 30th Anniversary year. Then he drove us to a remote section of the wall. They provided head lamps and Warm down coats. We hiked a simple but fun hike up to the wall in the moonlight. we mounted at dawn. Stars popped across the sky and in the moonlight we could see the wall stretch before us.Slowly we watched the colors change and lakes trees and villages appear as the morning sun illuminated the massive wall before us. We exercised Ba Duan Jin (a kind of Tai Chi) and did some Yoga Got fantastic shots! And it was Just us!!!!! As far as the eye could see. We listned to Chinese music in the car the whole way back to the airport and got to see remote village life starting their day as we drove. We got back in plenty of time Checked into our connecting flight and off to Thailand! Totally made two trips out of one!!!!! LOVED THIS!!!!! Been to the wall years before at mutianyu during the day! But,so fun to have the wall to ourselves and the incredible night and sunrise views!

We booked this tour last minute when we landed in Beijing. They were quick to respond and fit us in the schedule. For how cheap it was, it was well worth the money. Our driver even dropped us off at a Chinese restaurant near the airport on the way back.
If you're just killing time and haven't seen the wall, it's a must do.

We went on a tour of the Great Wall during an 8 hour layover to Thailand. It was a wonderful tour. We had our own driver and personal english translating tour guide who met us at the air port and drive us to the Wall. She was wonderful. Told us all about the history of the great wall as well as showed us all the fun ways to get up and down fron the wall. They provided us with bottled water and a safe place to store our things while we climbed the wall. I 100% recommend this tour guide company to anyone visiting China with a layover of over 7 hours.

Just finished our tour here in Beijing, China at The Great Wall of China with my Mom and my two young boys! The sights were breathtaking and satisfying. Our tour guide Jackie was super awesome the whole trip! Him and our driver Ho met us at the airport on time. They are super convenient and gave us a lot of information on the Great Wall and other places in Beijing. The van was super clean provided us with water and cool A/C and had lunch afterwards at the Great Wall. We also visited some stores to buy souvenirs. Then Jackie and Ho took us to a Tea house and we had tasted authentic tea and had a tea ceremony. We all enjoyed our layover here at Beijing and I would really recommend doing this and contacting this company! They are great in service and had great hospitality. THANK YOU!!!!

Friends told me about this company and I was so happy. Instead of a dreary 7 hours in an airport watching Netflix I got to see a wonder of the world!! Grace met me at Starbucks at the airport with a driver and off we went to explore. Got to spend as much time on the wall as I wanted then a great meal and I even fell asleep on the way back to the airport in the very comfortable car! I would highly recommend them! The slide was a hoot also, and you cannot forget about the Mongols!

Hi there, I'm enquiring today about airport layover tour for the Mutianyu Great Wall tour on my return flight on July 31st from Singapore to Vancouver. I will have 8 hours 5 minutes layover and I reach Beijing PEK at 3.25pm and leave flight at 11.25pm. Is it possible to do this? Would love go see the Great Wall in person! FYI, I'm a Singapore citizen and do not require a visa upon arrival. I also haven't done the fingerprint scan yet so I am asking if thst is required for all travellers to China?
Thank you and let me know the full cost as I'm looking at a few tour agencies.
