Never being in Beijing before, saw great , important sights. Schedule was well thought out , on time , and very easy to get through all the security. All tickets were purchased ahead of time making it very easy to enter. Drivers scheduled and timely and never had to wait for rides. Our guide Sonya was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to spend time with. She taught us so much and helped us with photos with perfect spots. We had to be a little flexible due to weather and she set it up so we wouldn’t miss anything and made sure we were okay with any changes. We were in great hands with Sonya and felt comfortable trusting her with any decisions.

James was outstanding. He gave us just the right amount of information without spending too long on areas not of interest. He was super great at navigating the long lines and around the attractions. Lunch was amazing! And everything he ordered us was great. We had such a great day and would highly recommend it if you’re in Beijing!

Angela, our guide, was both friendly and knowledgeable. She made our tour far more interesting than if we'd explored on our own. Her explanations were clear and easy to understand, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience. She was truly delightful, and I wouldn't hesitate to take another tour with her in the future.

We had an amazing 2 day private tour with driver in Beijing. Seeing tiananmen square, forbidden city, temple of heaven, Great Wall and summer palace. We had such a great time. Jenny was just the perfect guide, so professional, informative, kind, thoughtful and interested to hear about us and our travels. She was so kind in speaking mandarin with my daughter who is learning at University. It was so lovely to see her chat in Mandarin. Jenny was just so lovely, very encouraging and teaching her a lot. This really made our trip. The drivers were really friendly and very careful with how they drive. 100% recommend this tour and hope you get Jenny as the guide. We will definitely book with Catherine Lu tours again.

It was a very busy day at the Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City. Our Guide, Angela, did a very thorough job of explaining the area and the palace history. She clearly knew her subject matter very well and I learned a lot about the Palace that I had not learned on previous visits. With all of that said there are a few improvements I would suggest. The Forbidden City is huge and there is also a lot of information to convey. Our guide could probably have shortened her summaries by 40 or 50% and still gotten the point across. Shortening the visit from 5 hours to 3.5 would have greatly improved the overall experience. Knowing how touchy it is to leave a review of less than full quality. I want to say that I would recommend the experience, but if you are feeling that things are dragging, maybe request a shorter version.

This tour was a great way to immerse myself into the history and culture. Not only was Wendy super friendly and helpful but she also had a wealth of knowledge about the trip highlights. If you want to see some old culture with incredible scenery then this is the tour to take and I would highly recommend doing this tour with the team from Catherine Lu Tours.

Awesome tour experience! we were so thrilled to experience the Great Wall at night esp the light up. the Gubei Water Town was also very scenic. Justin, our guide, is very friendly and knowledgeable. he is also accommodating and took care of our needs including recommending a lovely riverside restaurant for our dinner. he took care of the details while we just enjoy the experience! highly recommended. go in Sep….it’ll be less crowded!

We loved this tour and highly recommend it. Our guide May Wong and driver Mr. Lu were excellent, and taught us many things about China and their local culture. May is very knowledgeable about Chinese history as well as the sites we visited. The tour was private, which was nice as it was just us, Lunch is included and because the tour is private May gave us options as to where to eat. We let her choose the restaurant and we also let her choose the food we ordered. Lunch was excellent. This was our first visit to China, so this tour was a great way to learn about China.

A genuinely good tour! I was in China for a business trip and decided to add a few days at the end for sightseeing. I was traveling solo, so it was important to me to have a guide to help navigate all the tourist attractions. For this tour, I had a different guide and driver for each day- all of them excellent! On day one, my guide Adam picked me up at my hotel for the city center attractions, including Tiananmen square, the forbidden city, and the temple of heaven. Adam was super knowledgeable and explained the history of each site from ancient times all the way to the present day. He really gave me so much info, it was like having my own personal documentary narrator! The second day, I was greeted by my guide James who took me to the summer palace and to the great wall. James was also very informative and had a great eye for pictures. It was a very hot day with a lot of walking. James made sure I had plenty of rest and water throughout the entire tour. I was heading home this day, so they directly dropped me off at the airport. I should also mention that I am a vegetarian, and both guides had no trouble accommodating my diet. The food on both days was very delicious! I would really recommend this tour for anyone, it made seeing Beijing so easy and enjoyable!

We were very excited with this private tour to Forbidden city, especially day before we went with another different agency which we also booked from TripAdvisor. For our children we paid extra for Spanish tour guide for understand more about it. Day before the communication were very confusing and reply very slow from the Catherine Lu Tours. On the day of the tour, our tour guide his name is Pepe Fan who is not very good at explaining. So we asked him to tell more stories about the forbidden city which is going to be more interesting for our children. He still keep telling us the name of the buildings which we don’t need a private tour guide for that. Our children lost interested got bored. At part from that, he kept taking pictures for his own. There were some point we even have to wait for him to finish. It’s like he has never been in the Forbidden city. Furthermore, he even took our children pictures without our consent and sent it to his private chat in the phone. He were Constantly chatting and talking on the phone. It was a very boring and unprofessional tour. What the waste!!!!!! The level of Spanish is not good enough, Catherine Lu Tours shouldn’t offer such private tour. The money was bad spent it. Very disappointed!

A truly well-organized tour that left us very satisfied. Despite having only 2 days available, the two guides allowed us to see the main attractions as agreed, giving us time to take photos and learn more. Day 1: Tour with Gloria, a super energetic and fun guide. Day 2: Tour with Steven, very professional, kind, and well-mannered. He chose an excellent restaurant for us and even gave us some free time to explore on our own. Very skilled! Excellent driver service. I would recommend Catherine Lu Tours to anyone who wants to enjoy China in a short time but with comfort.

Ok let's not kid ourselves, this is a very long day but it's totally worth it. Pick up time was 05.20 & I got back to the hotel 23:30 but the whole day was well organised & ran really smoothly. I was provided with photos of the meeting place for the guide & driver in advance which made it super easy. The bullet train was comfortable & the toilet situation was OK! I was meet by the guide & driver at Xi'an station & drove about half an hour to lunch. During this time Julie told me the history of the site, she was knowledge, friendly & chatty. Her English was excellent. The included lunch was delicious, some of the nicest food I had in China. The guide made sure I could get vegetarian dishes easily & it was great to visit a local restaurant & try authentic dishes. The Terracotta Army it's self did not disappoint, I could have easily spent all day looking at the statues. As this was a day trip I only had about 2 hours there then it was back to the station. There were lots of food options at the station including western food. The pick up driver back in Beijing was in the meeting place holding a sign with my name on so was easy to find. All in all it was a super easy trip & well worth the money & long day.

The best way to see the highlights of Beijing in a short period. My guide Nancy was great, she tailored my itinerary to my needs & made sure I was able to get a vegetarian lunch. She spoke excellent English & was easy to chat with. The car & driver were great also and kept me supplied with cold water. The itinerary worked well, they're was a good amount of time at each place & it was planned well so we didn't spend too much time in the car. The tickets were reordered so there was no time wasted at ticket booths. Big shout to Jenna on the customer services team too, she made the whole booking process super easy.
