Amazing experience of Mutiyanu Great Wall
It was an amazing experience with Mr. Ping going to the great wall of China. We started early morning and Mr. Ping, a very fun person, got us to the wall and helped us get the tickets too. Then he explained us the wall history and also joined us on the fun Toboggan. We also did some souvenir shopping on the trip and had food at an interesting restaurant. Having Mr. Ping along helped us as none of us spoke any Mandarin and everything went seamless with him. I will definitely recommend anyone to book a tour with him in Beijing.

    Super friendly and helpful!
Because I was going solo, I honesty was a little nervous to meet up with the driver and go a long distance by myself, but it was all gone after I met up the driver, Mr.Ping! His wife came along, which made it more reassuring. Also, his English was fluent and was very very helpful! Even though the tour I chose doesn’t include a guide, he walked me to the ticket office, helped get the tickets, explained the Water Town map to me, and even helped me set up the Wechat haha. After I had my fun and adventure at water town and the Simatai wall (which was amazing), he was thoughtful enough to ask me if I had other plans after this, and was very kind enough to drop me off at my next destination!! I’m so glad I took the chance to come to Gubei water town!! Zero regrets! Thank you so much, Mr. Ping!! 🥹

Leo's private tour with driver Mr.Ping
Very good organised private trip to Mutianyu Great Wall. Our driver Mt.Ping was very friendly picked us up at the hotel on super comfortable van. We struggled with online booking for tickets and he sorted it out as well. Would definitely recommend this tour to our friends and use Leo's Service again ourselves.

Linda is great tour guide! Ask for her!
I would like to leave our tour guide Linda from Leo’s Guide and Driver Service, a rave review. She is very knowledgeable and has planned her tours well. Linda is able to answer any historical question with as much depth as you want, and is passionate about history. Her English is impeccable. We visited the Forbidden City on a very hot day, and she was sure to find us some shade, to remind us to drink water, and even offered me her umbrella. She’s very kind. But what impressed my husband and I though most was her knowledge of the Palace Museum and life under the emperors. I know she knew much, much more than she had time to share with us, and we wished we had that time with her. Highly recommend Linda for her guidance.

    Depth and excellent service!
Today, we went to our 3rd time to the forbidden city. I always love this place but never found the right guide to share real insights. But I wanted to give another try! Leo found tickets to the forbidden city and a guide within 24 hours (expecting timeline for tickets is 7days currently) which was awesome given that we book the tour only 2 days before landing in Beijing. Our guide, Wanghui, told us about histories and tales about the forbidden city: even my husband was very interested! She quickly caught up on our points of interest and customized the itinerary accordingly: she went out of usually routes and showed us places that we’ve never seen before. Finally, she gave us a lot recommendations on restaurants. We enjoyed the tour very much: organization, insights and customization were top notch!

Fantastic Tianamen Square & Forbidden City Tour
Had a fantastic day at Tianamen Square and Forbidden City with my wonderful guide Jenny! Both are must see places when coming to Beijing. Having an English speaking guide to help navigate the difficult logistics and security requirements involved was very comforting. Additionally, Jenny has a wealth of historical knowledge of both places that was fascinating. A gorgeous weather day, two breathtaking attractions, and a wonderful tour guide made it a perfect day!

    Amazing beijing trip (leo help)
Leo went far and beyond what was called of him for me on my trip to Beijing. He not only arranged a English speaking driver to take me to the wall but also informed me and answered a multitude of questions I had about Beijing! Even when my questions had nothing to do with what I had paid for! I would highly recommend booking through him because of this alone! He truly made my trip so much easier! Thank you Leo

    History and stunning architecture
We were so glad we did this tour vs. just walking Forbidden CIty ourselves. Connie our guide was super knowledgeable, contextualized and explained the history of the place and led us to places / photo ops inside Forbidden City which we would have never discovered otherwise. She picked us up at our hotel and we took the bus there, everything went smooth until we were inside and and we didn't feel rushed. Plenty of time to explore and Jingshan Park afterwards was great as well. Well organized with a great guide and we learned so much about Chinese history. Highly recommended!

We were delighted to have the very lovely Helen (from Leo’s Tours) guide us for 4 days, including the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. She speaks very good English and was very informative and knowledgeable with great insights and stories. We would happily use her again and highly recommend her to anyone visiting Beijing.

    Beijing Trip in Apr 2020
I chanced upon the good review for Leo's Guide & Drive in Trip advisor. As I'm actually planning the trip to Beijing with my family of 7 people including one elderly in Apr 2020. Therefore, i decided to email them for a quote for their service. During the period from asking a quote to finalise booking with them, i have alot of questions that make me send a numbers of email which make me feel so bad. To my suprise, every email response from them are super fast and they provide very details information relating to my trip. I was so happy and I booked their service. However, due to the COVID-19 virus, I have not choice but to cancel my trip. So I emailed them to explain the situation and I would like to cancel the booking. They immediately replied me that they do understand and offer to refund me my deposit. Frankly speaking, I did not exepect that they will refund the deposit as is not their fault causes the trip to be cancelled. If I'm going to Beijing next year, I definitely will book the service with them again.

Had a great day for this tour. Lucy, our tour guide was fantastic. We were able to learn many things about the place we went to from the information she shared with us, even though we were not able to visit each and every corner of the place. It was too cold today to do that.

Leo sent us Guide April and Mr Wang to drive us on the city tour and as expected they were early and eager to show off Beijing to us. Their enthusiasm is still fresh and pride in Beijing very real. Thats when you know you have a great team guiding you.
We started with Tienanmen Square and April knew the security check points that needed navigating. We were completely unaware that you could not just stroll to the Square as one does to Times Sq in NY or the Squares in London. This is the biggest square in the world and security needs to be tight as it is surrounded by government buildings and artifacts in the many sights around the square. None more so than the Forbidden City where April whizzed us through the bureaucracy keeping us moving discreetly as there is a lot of walking and a lot to be seen and explained in the massive historical sight. Fortunately Leos guides seem to be experienced in how to convey a lot in an interesting compact way so you remain glued to the story without drowning in the history.
If we had not booked with Leos we would have tried doing it own our own and I cannot imagine the confusion and wasted time trying to enter these restricted areas.
April followed this impactful visit to a walk through a local Hutong which was a highlight and mind bending changing perspectives of how modern China lives. It became a bit of a food tour as there are many local food businesses.
An aspect of April we really enjoyed was that she took pride to show us her culture and city and when we reacted positively this only encouraged her to do more so. We feel this opened up another level of information given and sightseeing we experienced.
Not forgetting Mr Wang who patiently was dropping us off and going to wait somewhere before being summonsed by April to meet us to continue to the next sight. He did this with such patience and humility and respect it was always a delight to see him after being away from his vehicle for a while.
We asked April for a good budget conscious restaurant for lunch where we could try Peking Duck and within seconds her and Mr Wang chose the perfect spot, He sadly did not eat with us but April did and the chats were very informative and yet informal enough to get to know the local perspectives on all things.
We also got to visit the Summer Palace where April was sneaky and took us away from the crowds to a quiet secret section. This moment made us feel special and we have an emotional reaction to the solitude and beauty of being in a serenely beautiful place - alone. It was the difference we felt April provided trying to show off her city of which she is rightfully so proud.
Mr Wang and April also took us to see the Olympic park and Birds Nest and Watercube which we are thrilled they did. We realized there were extras thrown into the tour but that seems to be the case when touring with Leos.
In conclusion we feel that Beijing is a grossly underestimated and misunderstood city. Thanks to Leos and his guides and staff we walk away with an updated view of a city which April explained started thousands of years ago. She walked us through the historical and cultural events that shaped the city before pausing in the present and then pointing us to the future of where Beijing is going. Will look out for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics for sure now.

Thanks Helen for showing us Beijing!
On the 22nd December we organised the tour at the last minute but Leo was super quick in answering and organising the city tour visit. Helen was our guide and she is extremely knowledgeable. We were bombarding her with questions and she knew everything. She showed us the sites and explained us the culture and symbolism behind everything we sow.
Thanks again for the great time. 100% recommended and ask for Helen! She is the best !!! Gio & Marina

We would highly recommend for those who is looking to experience Beijing but do not have time to go to the wall to join this day tour around the city.
The palaces were awe inspiring and interesting to visit. The hutong was my highlight of the day where we sat in the rickshaw and experience the old part of Beijing.
What made the day worthwhile is our tour lady Helena. She was knowledgeable, patient and always go extra mile to offer her help making me and my guests relaxed, comfortable and worry free.
I would highly recommend her if you are looking for a day trip. Especially if you are visiting the ancient sites her knowledge on the history makes the visit extra special !!

I've used Leo's services several times in the past and have also recommended them to many of my friends and family. This time round we had Linda as our guide and she kept up the usual high standards that are to be expected from Leo. Linda was very accommodating, knowledgeable and easy to deal with throughout the day. She provided lots of valuable tips along the way, and was able to squeeze in all the various things we wanted to cover in just one day. I would highly recommend choosing her the next time you consider a tour of Beijing's most famous attractions.
