The tour guide was knowledgeable and we went through the tour at a very comfortable pace. The tour guide was very detailed in guiding us where to meet and how to get to the venue.

Amazing tour with Alice and Li YangBing!
We had an amazing time on this tour! Everything ran smoothly and our tour guide was very knowledgeable on Chinese history. She answered all of our questions and took a lot of pictures for us. Our tour guide’s name is Alice, and we would definitely recommend her to everyone. We had a dim sum lunch and Alice knew exactly what to order for us! We chose the option with a private car, and it’s definitely worth it. Our driver Li YangBing was very personable and chatted with us in Chinese during our drive. He was very professional and told us he often drives foreigners around Beijing.

So glad to organise an event tht everyone was pleased by.......
If ever there was a venue whose menu perfectly fits its ambience this is it! Sixteen of us sat down to celebrate joint 40th birthdays and the whole experience couldn't have been bettered. There's not a vast choice but from the small plates ( butterfly prawns, sausage bites, mac and cheese, etc.) through to mains (burgers, tacos, salt beef sarnies, pizzas ) it was perfection. We'd pre ordered ,being a large party, and having arrived as planned at 1230hrs and ordered drinks our food was served on the dot of 1245hrs, as agreed. We were a diverse group from 2 to septuagenarian and everyone thought it was great. We'll be back again and from the compliments flying about so will all our guests

Fantastic day trip to Ming tombs and Summer Palace
We had a great experience with Jack, it was well planned and Jack shared a lot of fascinating historical anecdotes and points of interest during the tour. The Ding tomb is the only tomb where you can enter the underground crypt and this was such an eye opener compared to my previous visit to another of the Ming tombs where it was only the aboveground portion. We were very well looked after from the point of pickup until the end of the tour, with drinking water and snacks provided in the car. The pace of the tour was just right and not tiring at all. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone keen on visiting the Ming tombs and Summer palace.

Lovely layover tour with Beijing highlights
Jack was an amazing guide, he showed me around Beijing and shared interesting facts about the spots we visited, everything was very easy to organize, even an airport pick up and drop off so that I could see a glimpse of the city on my long layover. 10/10, would recommend to anyone!

Great tour, excellent tour guide in Jay
It was a quick tour of Beijing's old and new with a different perspective at night. Jay took really beautiful photos of us and spent the whole time telling us endless stories of Beijing especially Beijing's hutongs and life before and after the pandemic. We was an excellent (and different) tour of old and new Beijing!

Very very good tour. We went with Miko and he is a rockstar. Very knowledgeable, does a great job with photography and he does a nice job both getting you to the forbidden city and Tian’anmen square in addition to talking through all the historical facts about the areas. He is also very knowledgeable about NBA and he speaks incredible English. Very happy with Miko!!!

Great Two Day Shore Excursion from the cruise port
Lucy was a terrific guide. She explained everything very well. Very knowledgeable about the places we went to see. There are a lot of government check points along the way and especially in Beijing at the sites. , Because we had a private guide, getting through these check points was a breeze. She even helped push my wife in a walker and assisted her to climb stairs. If there was a way to rate Lucy a 5 +, I would certainly do so. Our driver and Lucy communicated very well to make sure he was at the right place for drop off and pick up. Thanks Lucy for making our two day Shore Excursion in Beijing a very memorable experience. Great time!
I had a fantastic experience on Saturday with Lucy and on Sunday with Edward. Lucy picked me up from my hotel at 6 pm and we saw a number of different places, including Tiananmen Square, The Place, and Hutong Street (loved Hutong Street). On Sunday, Edward picked me up at 9 am and we went to Temple of Heaven, Ming Dynasty Tombs and a jade factory! Edward shared the history and relevant background info throughout the entire tour , which was made for a great learning experience. I will definitely be booking another tour in the future. This is so fun to do when traveling solo.

Well organized tour led by friendly and funny tour guide Miko. We were briefed on Great Wall history as well as Beijing. Weather was perfect. Both Walls were stunning and more beautiful than pictures!
Also driver and car were both great.
Special thanks to Miko for keeping the kid entertained in the car; and making us safe all along the tour — yes, there are steep steps to climb the wall.

[Repeated review from one I just posted for Discover Beijing Tours, it's all a bit confusing where the reviews should be posted]

I was somewhat overwhelmed with all the options for tours and guides to get to the Great Wall so I went largely with good TA reviews and booked the "All-Inclusive Private Day Trip to Mutianyu and Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall" tour through Viator. While I was pretty apprehensive, everything worked out really well. We had a VERY enjoyable day out.

Jimmy and the driver (don't think we got his name) picked us up exactly on time and we were on our way without any trouble. Jimmy was fantastic the whole day. He's friendly, speaks crystal clear English, he's funny, and very good at what he does. We chit-chatted in the car on the ride to Mutianyu. We're in our 50s, a gay couple, and Jimmy is about the age of our son (late 20s, early 30s). We talked about just about everything: China, the US, travel, working in a tourist industry, our family, his family, etc. Conversation flowed easily and enjoyably.

It was a little bit unclear if we were going to be on our own to explore the wall or not. Jimmy got the tickets and told us where to go to catch the chair lift up. He was right behind us, and walked with us on the wall. We heard about the history of the wall, the immediate and extended area, as we wandered along the wall for about an hour. We didn't go too far since we moved at not too fast of a pace. Actually, if we had been on our own we would have walked a lot further, but that's fine. After you're on it for a while you "get it" and we didn't feel the need to see much more. The weather on the day we were there was very foggy/cloudy so the views weren't the greatest, unfortunately.

After Mutianyu, we hopped back in the car to head to the other part of the wall. We stopped for a FANTASTIC lunch first. It was in this kind of hole in the wall place where locals were eating and the food was great. Jimmy and the driver ordered everything, checking with us first about whether we ate this or that (we eat pretty much everything). Honestly, this was one of the standout meals of our trip. The food was good, fresh, very flavorful, and just right. There was an amusing boisterous group next to us that was having some kind of celebrations, drinking some hard liquor and everybody was pretty drunk. It was fun to watch everything that was going on. When we arrived there was one other obvious tourist group there but they left just as we sat. Other than them and us, there were no tourists in the place and nobody seemed to speak English.

After the lunch we headed out to the Huanghuacheng section of the wall which was interesting. I had been hoping that we'd be seeing a section that wasn't restored, but that's not what we walked on. We could see at a distance the unrestored sections, but we weren't on them. So that was a little bit of a disappointment, and it's entirely possible that if I had told Jimmy that's what we wanted to do we would have done it, but I didn't. So absolutely no regret there. This section of the wall is in a very different locale surrounded by a man-made lake which was interesting to see. But the wall itself was very similar to the Mutianyu section. The biggest benefit was that we were pretty much the only people on the wall. That was a nice benefit.

Overall I was very, very happy with the results. All my apprehension was for naught, and I'd highly recommend doing this trip. And if you get Jimmy as your guide, well, you're in good, friendly, funny, and informative hands.

We had the most amazing day, Linda was a lovely knowledgeable guide who met us in the hotel foyer and gave us a comprehensive overview of Beijing and the section of the Wall we were going to visit as we travelled through the city out to the Great Wall.
We skipped the tourist lines as the driver had a pass to get us up to the VIP car park and then Linda sorted our tickets for the ski lift up and toboggan down! The Wall itself is amazing any way you see it but I recommend this tour for anyone wanting to mix the carefree skip the lines tourist aspect with a truly local experience without the stress of ending stranded somewhere or waking up with a missing kidney.
After the first touristy part of the Wall Linda helped us avoid a few "tourist traps" on the way down and took the four of us for the most amazing lunch in a local restaurant. Which on the outside you'd miss if you were just driving past but I'm glad we didn't miss it because it still thinking about how delicious it was.
After lunch we got to see a less touristy part of the Wall with beautiful views where Linda took great photos of us and emailed them to me!
The trip home was equally fun seeing the natural China countryside and the driver entertaining us with jokes. On the way back to the hotel Linda provided us a couple of excellent restaurant recomemendations with directions which turned out to be premium restaurants a tourist wouldn't find on their own. Linda's guiding and subsequent recommendations really made our trip a memorable experience I wouldn't want to redo the trip any other way

This tour was by far the highlight of our 2 week trip around China. The first section of the wall was nice, however, the second section was AMAZING! Lucy was a wonderful tour guide, she was very informative, her English was amazing, and she was a pleasure to be around. She ordered us an amazing lunch and taught us some Chinese customs with eating and such. I would defiantly recommend this tour and ask for Lucy!

This tour was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it. Our guide David was excellent, he picked us up at the hotel on time, gave us a lot of interesting information about Beijing on the way to the Great Wall, and was always friendly and answered any questions or requests we had. We accessed the first part of the wall by ski lift and went down on the toboggan which we all enjoyed. When walking on the wall, the view was wonderful. We then drove to a local restaurant - the meal was delicious -and walked the second part of the wall after lunch. There were hardly any other people on this section and it was well worth doing too. Just make sure you have good shoes as it is very steep with no steps at times. We'll always have fond memories of our trip to the Great Wall.

This tour was splendid! My guide, Miko, was an exceptional guide for the tour. He communicated clearly before the day of the tour to make sure I was prepared correctly. The morning of, he met me in the lobby of my accommodation, making the start of the day as smooth as possible. Throughout the tour Miko was extremely informative, providing information on history, culture, folk, and random facts. Miko speaks English very well and on top of everything has a great sense of humor. This tour provides all aspects of experiencing the wall. You will see and walk a good section of the restored wall with the option of climbing a portion containing 428 steps, all containing spectacular views. After the first area experience an authentic lunch at a mountain restaurant with delicious food. After recharging you will experience another section of the wall that hasn’t been restored and is off the beaten path, we did not encounter a single other tourist at this portion of the wall, the views and serenity were amazing. Both the driver and the guide Miko made the tour comfortable, educational, and unforgettable. I highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to fully experience the Great Wall!

What an amazing experience it was to see not 1 but 2 parts of the Great Wall of China. Mutianyu section was more touristy however going up in the chair lift and coming down in the toboggan was a once in a lifetime experience. Huanghuacheng section was completely different and even more amazing. With sections that have not been fixed it was more real and the views were terrific.
Katherine our tour guide was fantastic, we travelled with 5 people with ages ranging from 9 to 68. She made sure that my parents were always OK and also walked with my children further up the wall, as I was buggered (and full from the awesome lunch)!! Her english was really good and she was an excellent guide. Would highly recommend this tour!

We spent 2.5 weeks travelling China and this was without a doubt our favourite day. The chance to see 2 sections of the Great Wall was phenomenal. The toboggan ride at Mutianyu was unforgettable - so much fun! Our day was made all the better by our fantastic guide, Cactus. She was informative, fun, knowledgeable and became a member of our family for the day! Thank you so much Cactus for making this once in a lifetime opportunity so very special.
