We took two single-day private tours with China Sunny Tours while in Beijing recently. Sarah Zheng, the proprietor, was unavailable for the first tour of The Temple of Heaven, The Forbidden City and The Summer Palace but Jenny, our guide provided a great tour. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and clearly explained the history and context of the various locations. Before heading to the Summer Palace for the afternoon, we had a delicious lunch near one of the Hutong districts at a restaurant famed for its dumplings. They were, as promised, delicious. At each location, our driver was waiting to whisk us away to the next site and Jenny arranged all the tickets. The Summer Palace was amazing, particularly the Long Corridor – over 700m in length with beautiful paintings along the way every 5m or so. We learnt a lot about the life and reign of the Dragon Lady Empress Dowager, CiXi, her manipulation of two child emperors and disposal of numerous of those who threatened her power. It is hard to believe that she only died in 1908. Two days later we took a fantastic tour with Sarah to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs which began and ended with the two-hour drive from and to Beijing. Sarah’s knowledge of the history of the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties is amazing. After ascending to the wall by chairlift we walked backwards from Tower 6 to Tower 3, a less crowded section of the wall. Views were amazing with autumn leaves and spider web-like bare branched trees giving the impression of rising mist in the mid-morning while the sun was still low in the sky. We then walked from Towers 6 to 10 for spectacular views to the west and with the sun behind us it made for great photographs. Again, Sarah provided an excellent commentary. We forwent the toboggan route down and returned on the more peaceful and scenic chairlift to our waiting driver. We then checked out the jade shop below the lunch restaurant where Anna gave us detailed information on the craft of jade carving. Lunch was a delicious buffet with spectacular northerly views though long windows of the wall along the ridge line. After lunch we drove through the mountains to the west to the site of the Ming Tombs visiting the underground tomb of the 13th Ming emperor and the Sacred Road with its stone animal and human guardians lining the way towards the tomb site for the emperors’ coffins. This latter site was an extra - our tour was supposed to include one of three sites at the Ming Tombs but Sarah included the Sacred Road as well at no extra charge and it was well worth the stop. We can’t say enough in praise of Sarah’s knowledge, friendliness and patience. We will be looking out for her tours again the next time we are in China. Thank you so much Sarah and Jenny.

Sarah from sunny tours was fantastic, she organised a two day tour of Beijing for my family inc private transportation in a very clean and well kept mini van, food and tours to the forbidden city, bell tower and drum tower, visit to the traditional hutong area by rickshaws, Lama temple, Beijing zoo, Great Wall and summer palace. Sarah goes above and beyond to make sure everyone enjoys her tours, her English is very clear and there is no hidden shopping on Sarah’s tours. I would highly recommend Sarah to everyone traveling to China.

Sarah was very helpful. She answered my many email questions very promptly and patiently. We agreed on an itinerary based on what we were interested in: Great Wall, Changling and Spirit Way. Reasonable price, no surprise “shopping” stops. She also arranged our airport transfers, much more convenient than the airport taxi stand. Informative tour. Stopped whenever we needed to catch our breath climbing the wall. Sarah and my wife had a lot in common and chatted all day. She also got us to the Great Wall early enough to miss peak crowds. I got a photo on the wall with no people in it and that doesn’t happen if you take the big bus tours.

Sarah was our guide in Beijing for two days, and did a fantastic job.We got to see all the attractions we wished for, and she took care of all tickrts.She sheared a lot of knowledge about historical attractions, we realiy enjoyed our time with her.

Sarah organised our tour very nice and sweet. It was just as per our request. Visits and foods were great. And here for the food, we are very thankful to Sarah who arranged for our special request. Very flexible and she is very trustworthy and honest guide. Showing the true friendship and Chinese hospitality. A big thanks again. We strongly recommend her as guide.

Sarah was my personal guide while I was in Yichang after my Yangtze River Cruise. She was knowledgeable and thoughtful of my limited time in the city. She showed me the sites as well as introduced me to some culinary delights! Her hospitality extended into allowing me into a Chinese home for a visit and conversation. We had 4 days of tour with Sarah. She included the midnight airport pick up and also the drop off which is also at night. We had 5 children and 9 adults and everyone had a great time at Beijing with Sarah. Even our kids were missing her badly now that we are back at Malaysia! Thanks for a wonderful time in Beijing Sarah. We promised her if we even gonna come back again to Beijing, it's all because of her! Our package included lunch at local restaurants. No foreign tourist spotted at all! Food were great and portion were big! You wont be wrong in engaging her! Trust me. And we nope....we are NOT related at all. She also speaks good english eventhough she spoke mandarin to us.

We (Norwegian family of 4) had the pleasure of having Sarah as our guide on our trip to Beijing in November 2016. From beginning to end this was an amazing trip, and Sarah did a fantastic job taking us to all the must-see attractions of Beijing, and then some more! She is highly knowledgeable and knows everything about China and Beijing culture and history, and in addition she is super nice and service minded. We (two couples) spent three days with Sarah visiting many sites.She and her driver were punctual, friendly and had a great sense of humour .Nothing was too much trouble and the cost included some great lunches at authentic restaurants. Her knowledge and ways of beating the traffic jams maximised our time there. Have no hesitation in recommending her and wishing her all the best.

We had only one weekend in Beijing, and decided to book a tour guide which led us here. We were pleasantly surprised with absolutely everything. Our tour guide Sarah was great, sharing interesting knowledge and generally caring about you. The mini bus was comfortable, we covered all the major spots in such a limited time without even feeling rushed, and Sarah went out of her way to ensure our trip was the best it could be by altering her schedule to fit ours, and getting us in to extra experiences not even discussed beforehand. Absolutely 100% recommend this service, made our trip magical.

We booked a two-day tour. We had Sarah for one day and Susan for the other. It was very well organized and we were very impressed with our driver as well ! Everything went like clockwork, we had bathroom stops and food stops and photo opportunities. Both ladies were knowledgeable and informative. We would definitely recommend this day tour.

We had a great day exploring Beijing with our guide Claire, who was very informative about each place we visited. She knew when each location would be least busy too, so we got the best photos on the Wall and in the Forbidden City with as few people in them as possible and without feeling too overwhelmed by how busy it was. She also catered for our preferences too, for example Claire gave us the option for lunch and how we wanted to climb and descend the wall choose tobogganing if you get the chance and don't go too slowly, it's more fun with speed!!. We also had plenty of time to look around each place too, not too long, but plenty of time to see everything we wanted to. She took us to a really good restaurant for lunch and suggested the best food to try. Our driver was lovely too and we felt very safe on the busy roads of Beijing! It was great value for money also, a tour not to be missed!

We took a two day tour, the first day we went with sarah to the great wall and ming tom. It was great, since we did not have to worry about anything. Sarah picked us up in our hotel with a private driver and we went with them to see the great wall. All tickets were bought in the place and we have experienced a chinese lunch, something dificult to have when u are on your on. Then we went to the ming tombs. There is not much to see on the ming tombs, therefore, going with a guide is essential so you can learn a little bit more about the history. The second day we had Henry as out guide, a very nice person too and was quite fit, since we have done a lot in this day. We manage to visit the temple of heaven, the forbiden city and the summer palace in the same day. We even went up the hill that is in a park behind the forbiden city (a great view). I think it was only possible to those things because we had an experience guide and a good private driver, so we did not waste much time. Ee also had a good chinese food with henry on this day. We have looked for at least 4 different tours, some were cheaper and other really expensive. So we find the sunny tour with a fair price and we defenetly recommend it since it is a private tour.

This was the first time that my whole family went to China together and it was a blast. The driver was on time to pick us up at the train station with a very clean bus. Furthermore, he was always ready to take us to places or leave. Sarah was very informative and helpful. She took us to Tianamen square, the forbidden city, Hutongs, Beijing Temple, the summer palace, and the Birds Nest Stadium. She spoke very good English and knew the city very well. There is no question that she couldn't answer. Sarah also took us to very good restaurant, and recommended good places to eat on our own. She made sure that we had fun and arranged everything for us so that we could have a worry-free trip. The trip was full of fun and food.
