Private Tour: Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace and Forbidden City
From $103.70
Lowest Price Guaranteed
Make the most of city sightseeing on this private tour of Beijing, which includes a visit to must-see attractions like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and more. Your guide will provide in-depth information about each site's history and significance and will handle all transportation, planning, and logistics so you can just enjoy your trip. A delicious Peking Duck lunch and boat ride in Summer Palace are all inclusive.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in your Beijing hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m., then depart to the Temple of Heaven. The best time to visit is in the morning to catch a glimpse of local senior citizens exercising, practicing Tai Chi, playing Shuttlecock, singing, dancing, or doing ground calligraphy. After an hour walking in the Temple of Heaven, continue on to Tiananmen Square.

Tiananmen Square, the largest city center square in the world. This famous location witnessed some of the most dramatic chapters of Chinese history. Stroll through Tiananmen Square to see the Front Gate, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, Monument to the People's heroes, Great Hall of the People, and Tiananmen Gate.

Continue your tour to the Forbidden City, and spend 2 hours to explore the place where the Ming and Qing Emperors resided for more than 500 years. Having been off-limits to commoners for centuries, it was officially opened to the public in 1925 as a public museum.

Lunch will be served in a cozy, non-tourist Peking Roast Duck restaurant.

In the afternoon, spend about 1 hour touring Summer Palace, and take a boat ride to see the Qing style buildings on Suzhou Street where eunuchs and concubines were once disguised as merchants so that the emperor could enjoy shopping.

On the way back to your Beijing hotel, visit the Olympic Stadiums and stop on a bridge to the west of the Water Cube, which is the best place to photograph the main buildings in the Olympic Village.
