Itinerary
- 1The tour starts by picking you from Nairobi Airport or Hotel, we will be driven to Main Kibera slum, visit the Soweto Village homesteads, and then continue to the Curio (handcrafts) Workshop where you will witness how those living in the Kibera slums are innovative in making ornaments out of animal bones. Continue with visits of the Nursery schools and pass by to see the water vendor and the shower shop as you meet other slum dwellers mingling with you as they carry on with their daily chores. Turn right past the roadside fish mongers into the Biogas plant, the only one of its kind in Africa which will use human waste as its raw material in the production of Biogas which will be used as cooking gas as well as lighting about 200 households once it is accomplished and commissioned. Proceed to one of the community based School run with the donations from well wishers which is a real highlight of Kibera schools. You will then be escorted back to airport or Nairobi Hotel/Home.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 907Traveler_20140 contributionsNice dayOur guide was Peter. He did a good job. My travel companion and I thoroughly enjoyed feeding the giraffes & petting the baby elephants. We didn’t see the rhinos. The morning rush hour traffic was awful. This led to us having to hurry to leave the giraffe center so there was no time to look around the gift shop. I left my sandal shoes in one of the cars and Peter went back to get them. Bead factory was nice. We’re all about supporting women! Welcome song and dance was fun! However I think it’d be nice if they provided to option to paint or make your own beads/ jewelry. I had a whole blast at the Bomas dancing with the dancers! The Bomas are truly not to be missed.Written February 11, 2025
- Fearless2659710 contributionsRecommended combination trip to Kenya and TanzaniaI have just finished the first part of my tour through Kenya and Tanzania (February 2025). It was a very well organized tour to the Masai Mara, to Lake Nakuru and from there to Amboseli National Park. I would particularly like to highlight the beautifully located Amboseli Sopa Lodge, the very friendly hotel staff throughout the trip, and my very good driver Martin. He was not only a very careful and good driver but also a really good animal spotter. This part of the tour is highly recommended and I am looking forward to the second part.Written February 5, 2025
- 40kene0 contributionsExcellent tour with bureaucracy.Steven our guide was very good. The extra $45 fee per person to get into the National Park should be more prominently mentioned in the tour description as I didn’t bring that much cash with me. That should somehow be put in the tour price. Also, tourist tip, if you don’t use WhatsApp you may miss communication with your guide.Written January 24, 2025
- Tafadzwa Hazel M0 contributionsAn out-of-this-world experience!I had the best time seeing the variety of wildlife with my tour guide John. He was super knowledgeable and warm. I highly recommend this tour!Written January 23, 2025
- V4209TMaprilm0 contributionsWhat a day!Absolutely amazing day at the National Park with Martin! We saw all the ‘big’ animals that were in the park. Martin was so good about stopping and giving us time to take photos. We had lunch at a cute spot and also did the bead factory, baby elephant orphanage, and the giraffe center. Martin made sure we were comfortable at each location and even took photos of myself and my friend as we fed the giraffes! 10/10 would recommend this tour with Martin!Written January 23, 2025
- Carole C0 contributionsA great way to see 4 of Nairobi's treasures. This tour is an excellent way to see 4 of Nairobi's absolute treasures. Highly recommend: in particular the Giraffe Center and Elephant Sanctuary. Be prepared to be amazed!Written January 21, 2025
- O178DUcarolf0 contributionsGiraffes, elephants, beads and Bomas. The giraffes and elephants were such an awesome experience. Our guide Stephen was great and willingly volunteered to take pictures of my friend and me together. I now want to adopt an elephant! The lunch spot was lovely. The beads, while i wanted to support them, was too much of the same thing and I ended up buying very little. The welcome dance was great though. Bomas was good.Written January 21, 2025
- rhondamT9234OG0 contributionsAn amazing way to see the best of Nairobi in one day!Best day tour filled with wildlife and Kenyan hospitality & cultureWow what a sensational tour! If you have a day in Nairobi and want to experience a mix of wildlife and culture, book now! Stephen our guide was absolutely brilliant. There were just 4 people in our group. He made sure we were the first to the Giraffes to feed them before the crowds, he ensured we had the best spot to view and photograph the elephants at the orphanage. During these visits he took great photographs to ensure our day was captured on film. It was my husband’s birthday and Stephen secretly arranged a cake for him.. The ladies at the Kobe bead factory ensured that the celebration for my husband’s birthday was done in true Kenyan style. Dancing and singing “Happy Birthday”. The dancers at the Bomas of Kenya were great too.. A full day of animals, culture and fun.. Made possible by our wonderful driver and guide!Written January 16, 2025
- Relax177204744250 contributionsPeter was GREAT! Great tours! We had a great tour! Peter was a fantastic guide. Besides going to both sanctuaries (my husband liked the elephant one the most; I liked the giraffe one the most), he helped us with finding a bank, taking us to a souvenir place and taking us to Carnivore, the restaurant. The van was clean. Peter was very kind, gracious and helpful. I would go with this tour company again. Ask for Peter!Written January 14, 2025
