About
The Masai Mara is without a doubt East Africa’s most popular game park and boasts of being
host to one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is in the south western part of Kenya and
forms part of the greater eco-system that encompasses the Serengeti National Park in
Tanzania. The park is surrounded by concession areas and tribal lands of the Masai tribes
people. These are unfenced from the Mara and act as a buffer zone for the National Park and
form part of the migration area. The Masai Mara consists of open savannah, rolling grasslands
and undulating hills. July to September sees the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and
gazelle coming from the plains of the Serengeti.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- G3836ZQemilye0 contributionsSafari on the Maasi Mara.We used Ian Barton to plan the trip. He lives in Kenya. We had a fabulous three days. Stayed at Camp Explorer, in a beautiful tent, with brass fixtures and hardwood floors. It was an adult only camp. Everyone was at least 18. Food was delicious. Was waked up each morning with our pre-ordered hot drinks brought to our tent. Then out on an early safari. Went on late afternoon safari as well. Saw so many animals. Our camp was on a river. Watched rhinos in the river. Incredible opportunity. Also spent one extra day visiting a Maasi village. Interesting too.Written March 26, 2024
- AMOlivier0 contributionsJono Kenyatta international AirportI found the pickup area dark, confused and not signposted - arrival was confused Departure was equally confusing- passengers had to get out of the taxi and walk through a random ecurity checkpoint and then get back into the transport. Airport felt dirty and rundown but staff friendly. Business class lounge very under parWritten June 24, 2022
