About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Monicawalsh120 contributionsA great dayWe had an incredible experience with Peter as our tour guide! He led us on an unforgettable tour through the national park, elephant sanctuary, and giraffe park. Peter’s knowledge of the wildlife and the surroundings was truly impressive, and his friendly demeanor made the entire day even more enjoyable. He had a remarkable ability to spot animals from a distance, giving us the chance to see some amazing wildlife up close. Thanks to Peter, we not only learned so much but also had a fantastic time. Highly recommend his tours for anyone looking to explore these beautiful parks!Written January 14, 2025
- S1436FAstephenj0 contributionsAmazing experience and Peter a great guide.Peter picked us up from Nairobi very early and we headed over to Amboseli. We saw loads of Elephants. Got great views of Kilimanjaro and saw all sorts of wildlife. Peter was all about conservation and taught us so much about local culture which I enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble. Really would recommend.Written January 9, 2025
- adrian s0 contributionsNairobi National Park, Elephant and Giraffe TourWe chose Wasili for our tour based on the positive reviews, and it was 100% the right decision. They were highly professional throughout. Clement our driver and Tour Guide was a gem, friendly, punctual and very knowledgeable. We saw a wide variety of wildlife in the Park and the elephant and giraffe sanctuaries should not be missed. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Wasili .Written January 7, 2025
- Jørgen S0 contributionsAmboseli National park-KilimanjaroIf there is one trip I will recommend, it will be this one! Amazing wilderness with a driver/guide of a lifetime (Evans through wasili tours). Not sure if the view of Kilimanjaro with no clouds or our knowledgeable guide was better. He made our trip perfect and I’m not overreacting. He is the man! Not just a guide and driver, also a storyteller and has some much knowledge. It was a great day of seeing Kilimanjaro and all the elephants. Many animals and many memorable memories. Thanks again Evans for making our trip remarkable!Written January 2, 2025
- Travels12280 contributionsGreat Tour ans ServuceThe tour and service provided was top quality. The tour guide Evans was very knowledgeable. He provided knowledge on the country, local area and the animals. He know the right areas to visit at what time in order to see all the animals, particularly the lions and Rhinos. He ensured i saw all the animals the Safari had to offer. He then took me to the elephant and girrafe parks ans gave me some helpful tips to further enjoy my experience. His service was only 2nd to his care. Evans was very nice and helpful. He did everything in his power to make the experience the best for me. Heme very early to pick me up, set up for me, with snacks and water. Was extremely helpful throughout the guide to ensure everything went smoothly. He also gave me great advice for the rest of my time here in Nairobi, gave me a list of things to do. Told me how to carry myself and where is safe for tourist to go visit and places i should avoid without a guide. He offered to help me with any questions i have moving forwars. Evans cared for my wellbeing and experience not for the money. Something very refreshing as a tourist as we can often be taken advantage of. He very much made me feel safe and at home.Written December 24, 2024
- marcorJ345ZY0 contributionsBewareSo here's my story (I really need to ventilate, instead of ruminating): I have booked this tour 4 weeks before the date (21 dececember 2024) and I even made it before booking my flight to Kenya. So far I've always trusted viator, I've been a good customer since 2021, counting more than 2000 euros for a total of more than 30 bookings . The tour in viator.com was scheduled to start at 5:00AM, I landed at Nairobi the night before at 22:00 with some delay. Finally after 2 hours waiting at the immigration queue I could finally reach my hotel (10 minutes away from the airport on the way to Amboseli) at 00:30AM, but the guide sent me a message through WhatsApp to be ready for pick up at 4:30AM. (I was the only person in this tour). I was tired but ready, we left the hotel at 4:25AM and drove fine for 1h45, and then a huge traffic jam started. We were trying to overtake as much as possible, going through the sideways,... long story short: crazy driving (in European standards)...but....at 8:00AM we were not even reaching halfway to Amboseli. So the driver says: we have to cancel, the safari is supposed to start not much after 9:00 AM, we will never going to make it. But I was so desperate not to lose my day, I asked if we could at least approach mount kilimanjaro so I could see something. I didn't mind the safari with the animals anymore or the time spent but at least I needed to get something out of this situation. The driver said at this point it would take all day to get there, and probably because of the weather (it was indeed a rainy day) I wouldn't see anything. The driver said this traffic jam was already there the day before, because it happens during Christmas holidays, and it was a Saturday. So we went back to my hotel (and I finally arrived at 10:30 AM: horrible 6 hours drive in total). I asked the driver his honest opinion: "If you knew beforehand about this trafficjam, that it was already stuck from the night before, you knew since the beginning there was a possibility that the tour would end this way?";..."Write a comment to the company " he replied. So I couldn't stop thinking they could have told me about this situation beforehand, they were willing to take the risk without consulting me. If I knew there was this risk, I would have cancelled for sure: first because I didn't sleep anything, secound because I didn't want to drive long hours in the rain for nothing, and third I would have had time to plan another thing to do, so I could at least enjoy my day in Nairobi. In the meantime, I also contacted viator about the refund, but I had the right to swallow another disappointment, I was receiving a refund of 200 euros instead of 229 I had paid. After I tried to explain that I was nothing but the victim here, for having been put through this situation because of a lack of professionallism of the tour company, viator made a clear statement that they don't protect their customers in these situations. Apparently, and I quote " I was lucky to receive a partial refund". WHAT???? does that mean that viator hostes and is complacent with these kind of companies and their bad practices? OMG! I expect to get a tour and I pay for it, I put myself through whatever it takes so my efforts would be rewarded at the end and WHAT? NOTHING! AND "I'm lucky"?. I guess I was certainly lucky not having being scammed before during the past 3 years, with all the money I have spent so far in viator. So beware y'all: if some tour operator scams you, you're on your own, viator won't help you. This was the first time, but now I know.Written December 20, 2024
- ScubaPickles0 contributionsFantastic tour of Amboseli NPWe did a 4.30am pick-up in Nairobi and headed to Amboseli National Park. Absolutely terrific day - guide Peter drove safely, was funny, very knowledgeable, answered every question we had and got us back to Nairobi Airport that night. Great wildlife too - plenty of elephants, hippos and some Gerenuk (which I'd never seen before). Great lunch too. Everything just went easily, 10/10.Written December 10, 2024
- Tete0600 contributionsBest safari agencyOur experience with Wasili kenya safaris was absolutely fantastic. And Yes, worth every penny. From the moment we arrived in Nairobi until we departed, team Wasili was exceptional. Words simply can’t describe our memorable safari. Our driver guide Clement was so informative and his smile was contagious throughout the nine days.We have traveled extensively to many countries, and have been fortunate to take some fantastic trips. This trip ranks at the top of them all. Do yourself a favor and book with Wasili safaris, you will be so grateful you did.Written November 30, 2024
- Dreamer6485210 contributionsFantastic to see wild animals in their own enviornmentThe very courteous driver/tour leader was polite, cheerful and very knowledgeable about the roads, safari park and most important had a wealth of knowledge about the wild animals. The one negative point was lack of air conditioning in the safari vehicle and was uncomfortable during the hot sunny day. The price excludes entry to the safari park and involves tons of hassle to buy the tickets online with many personal detailsWritten November 15, 2024
- Trail240627014970 contributionsWonderful!I had a fantastic tour with Wasili Kenya Safaris. I had two different guides for different tours and both of the guides are called Peter. They were both professionals, courteous and most importantly knowledgeable! They also made great effort to look for the beautiful animals I was so glad to see and appreciate. If you choose them, you won't be disappointed.Written November 11, 2024
- FrancoisS7160 contributionsFantastic experience after having to cancel in JulyAbsolutely fantastic experience. We were supposed to travel in July but had to cancel our trip due to the political situation. Kamau was extremely helpful and we could rebook both the safari and the balloon ride, without any penalties. The week before our safari, we were informed about pick-up and Peter collected us from our hotel as agreed. Peter was an absolute star. My wife likes plants and the two of them discussed every flower they saw on the way to the park. The journey was fun and Peter told interesting stories. When we made a trip into the Maasai Mara, we spotted a jeep that was stuck and Peter used our cables to pull it free. Clearly, that is one of the reasons why he is so popular with other drivers, always helpful. We did spot lions hunting wildebeest and 13 jeeps were told by the ranger to keep our distance. As nothing happened, 11 jeeps left but Peter explained the lions might give up and look for shade near our vehicle. Indeed that is what happened and we saw the lions pass us from 5 ft away. It got even better. Five cheetah's walked past our vehicle on their way to hunt gazelles and when Peter mentioned a little later we were late for lunch, we spotted four elephants. Of course we wanted to see them and they had their lunch before us, as we watched them eat shrub from a couple of metres away. Our day could hardly have gone better but we still had a desert. As we dined in Simba Lodge, a hippo stepped out of the river and walked along the opposite bank. All the other guest stood beside our table and we looked at the magnificent beast. We were sad to go back to Nairobi the next day, and Peter dropped us off at the Fairview were we had a lovely lunch and talked non-stop about the fantastic experience. I did visit Amboseli with Wasili Safaris last year and enjoyed that too. Mt Kilimanjaro is fantastic, but for me, Maasai Mara wins it. You get a better chance to see more animals from a shorter distance. Thanks Peter and KamauWritten November 10, 2024
- FrancoisSonneville0 contributionsThe King (Peter) and the Lion KingWonderful experience in Maasai Mara. We were supposed to visit Kenya in July but had to postpone and Kamau helped us to rebook for the start of November. We have been on a thee day adventure and were picked up from our hotel by Peter. Kamau kept us informed about his arrival time. The journey to Maasai Mara was pleasant. My wife loves plants and Peter is very knowledgeable about local vegetation. We had a schedule for the three days, but Peter told us to express our wishes and was flexible. We had our first taste of the park when we arrived and saw a giraffe family. We also spotted an elephant and a buffalo, as well as lots of zebras, warthogs and gazelles. For day 2 we had booked a balloon safari at dawn and Peter let us meet with Sami who explained what would happen. The balloon safari was fantastic. We saw the sunrise from the balloon and spotted lions and elephants from above. After a perfect breakfast, Peter picked us up from where we had landed and took us to the south side of the park, near the border with Tanzania. We were already happy but the best was still to come. Another vehicle had spotted a pack of lions, hunting wildebeasts. We waited for half an hour as the lions decided what to do. Most other jeeps (there had been around 15) left, but Peter predicted that the lions would retreat as the heat rose. There were only 3 jeeps left as the 9 lions passed less than 5 yards away from our vehicle on the way to the shade. That was good, but more was to come. We spotted a group of 5 cheetah’s that were following antilopes. The animals did not mind the jeeps at all and passed us even closer than the lions had done. As we drove on, we saw another jeep that was stuck at a river crossing. We stopped and Peter used his cable to pull the vehicle free. Our jeep was state of the art, but so where many others. Our driver was however in a league of his own. We were past 1:00 pm and on our way to a late lunch when we spotted elephants nearby, and we were very excited. So Peter offered to postpone lunch and drive up to the bushes where the elephants were. The five beasts were having lunch themselves and let us approach within 10 yards, not being bothered at all. After that, having lunch with Peter under a tree and seeing two hippo’s cross the Mara River rounded off our day. Unless you are interested to hear that when we were back at the Simba Lodge and had dinner, a hippo decided to climb out of the water on the opposite bank and walk along in the dark. PricelessWritten November 4, 2024
- qiujuw20230 contributionsUnforgettable 7-day safari with WasiliWe had an incredible 7 day safari with Wasili in October and loved the experience. It was our first time on safari in Africa and it was amazing to see all the different animals in their habitat! It was indeed a great experience! The whole trip is well organized. Our driver and guide, Julius' safari expertise was impressive. He was incredibly skilled at spotting wildlife and predicting animal behavior and movement, explaining all the details behind the animal. He has a wealth of knowledge and always made us feel safe throughout the trip. The trip wouldn't have been as amazing as it was without him. We had an unforgettable 7 day safari. We highly recommend Wasili and would love to come back for another adventure!Written November 3, 2024
- brunocA3402QJ0 contributionsExcellent safari in the Nairobi National ParkI had very good safari guides before, but here Clement was the best. He had a 6th sense to know where the animals were, even to find them mating, avoiding agglomerations with other cars. The rest of the service was properly organised and flexible.Written October 22, 2024
- DulceF7460 contributionsThe best of the bestI had the best experience on this trip with Evan, who was extremely kind and helpful. The transport was as comfortable as you can expect, with chargers and an air conditioner. Amboseli National Park is a must!Written October 4, 2024
