About
Visit chimpanzees and do mountain climbing all in two days and get a life time experience.
Chimpanzee
The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary was established with an agreement between the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and the Jane Goodall Institute. The aim – to provide lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees from West and Central Africa. Many are confiscated from cramped and unnatural living conditions, and many arrive with horrific injuries sustained from abuse at the hands of humans. Here at Sweetwaters, they get a chance to start over.
MOUNT KENYA
Climbing to 5,199 meters, is the second tallest mountain in Africa. The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking. It is pristine wilderness with lakes, tarns, glaciers, dense forest, mineral springs and a selection of rare and endangered species of animals, high altitude adapted plains game and unique montane and alpine vegetation.

- G4UET0 contributionsUnforgettable in the best possible way, just an awesome trip to Amboseli with my lovely guide Kevin.I received a message at the airport, I had just arrived after a 9 hour flight, and by the time I was through immigration, transferred to the hotel and settled in, it was after midnight. The message read something like “Hello, please could we start our tour a little earlier at 04:30”, yep that was fine! Kevin, my driver and guide was to drive me the 205km to Amboseli National Park, for a 1 day Safari, something I have always wanted to do in Kenya, famous for the big 5 (in some parks) and a selection of other amazing wildlife. The alarm rang, well actually my other half making sure I was up, few. A quick spray of anti-Mossi, anti perspirant and sun run cream then took my anti malarial tablet (just a precaution) and before I knew it, we were off on our adventure. The drive was interesting, I shall say no more other than Kevin was a brilliant driver, handling the Mombasa highway with such expertise, it was an experience to remember, really good fun eh Kevin 😃. We arrived at the Amboseli Gateway just after 08:00, after a refreshment break and leg stretch. Before we even reached the park we spotted a Giraffe and Zebra “milling around”. Al I can say is that my expectations were OVER met time and time again, having heard stories of animals being a bit shy and not showing their face, We saw Giraffe, Elephants, Zebra, Lions , Hippos, Water Buffalo and many others, I lost count of the different species we stumbled across. Kevin’s knowledge was like an encyclopaedia of nature species and habits, it was fascinating to hear. We stopped off for lunch at a local lodge which was surrounded by abundant wildlife, the food was of the highest quality and there was something to suit all but the fussiest of tastes. If I were to say anything it would be book a Safari with Perfect Safaris, you may want a cushion for your rear, it was a long day and the roads are extremely bumpy, it’s amazing value for money, great fun and you will discover animals living in the natural habitat behaving as they should, like the elephant with 5 legs 😜 just completely brilliant, thank-you Kevin for getting me up so early, I am so glad I did.Written October 6, 2024
- ariettab20240 contributionsYou do not want to miss out on this experience. My sister and I had a fantastic time exploring Nairobi with Mr. Festus Kazungu. While we initially planned to visit the National Park and the Giraffe Center, we were delighted to also tour the Kobe bead-making factory. From our 6 AM hotel pickup to the 3 PM airport drop-off, Mr. Festus engaged us throughout the trip, making it one of the best experiences we've had in Kenya. I won’t go into detail about the activities to avoid spoilers, but I highly recommend this experience. If possible, request Mr. Festus—I know I’ll be doing just that on my next visit to Nairobi!Written October 6, 2024

- Resort1116310 contributionsAwesome!Festus Kazungu is a great guide and driver. He performed the service as it is described at the WEB page. This is a good choice when the time to stay in Kenya is a constraint. Be ready for a too long ride, but in my case, it worths it.Written October 1, 2024
- JennyS55310 contributionsBest experience! Amazing views! Awesome sightings! We did a 6-days 5-star lodge luxury tour with Perfect Safaris covering Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboselli. Never tired of the many safaris as there was so much to see. Samwel is the best guide, i must say, with his super eagle eyes and intel, and ensuring we get the best views ALWAYS!!! Pictures taken using my cellphone. He made our trip complete. Perfect Safaris will be my choice again when i come back to Africa! See you again soon!Written September 30, 2024

- samgW8914QA0 contributionsAmazing day at Nairobi! The day tour to Nairobi National park and Giraffe centre was such an amazing experience. Our driver and tour guide 'Festus Kazungu' was super friendly, entertaining and accomodating. He made sure we saw all the animals as close as possible, taking amazing photos and videos and providing us with lots of great information about the animals. He added a few stops to our trip when he found out we were free for the day taking us to the beeds centre and Art Gallery which were great places to get souvenirs and enjoy African crafts and arts. He even taught us a few Kenyan words. Thank you so much Festus. We had a great time Asante Sana 😊 I highly recommend.Written September 22, 2024

- Rachael L0 contributionsGreat, helpful driver, Ng’ang’a Isaac! Bike tour was average, boat ride on the lake was really good!Overall the tour was good! Our driver Ng’ang’a Isaac was great, very friendly and had everything organised! The bike tour was average! We were hoping to get a good view point but our guide said the gorge was closed so we turned around half way, that was a little bit disappointing. Everyone seemed to go to the gorge and get transport back but that wasn’t an option for us. We saw lots of animals quite close which was great! The lunch was yummy and the boat ride on lake was really good, we got to see hippos!Written September 22, 2024
- Z5417QBmelanies0 contributionsHighly RecommendSuch a fabulous day out, great to see a different side to Kenya so close to Nairobi. Fiona, Sarah and their team were so engaging and the tea tour was great and food and gardens amazing, you won’t be disappointed. Look out for the gorgeous monkeys and abundance of birdlife. Also highly recommend my driver Jane from Perfect Safaris. So informative on the drive there and back and varied the route so I got to see Nairobi. Her driving skills are pretty impressive too!Written September 21, 2024
- airforcebri0 contributionsUnique safari experience at Hell's GateBooking was easy and confirmation was received through Whatsapp. My wife and I had only just arrived into Nairobi late the previous night, and we were both tired the next day and not very chipper. We decided to just do Hell's Gate and not do any of the optional add-ons, so I can't speak to any of those. Nevertheless, despite our condition, we had a good time. I booked this particular tour because we didn't have to worry about negotiating the bike rental as it was already taken care of. We were also given a separate guide for the cycling part who helped point out some of the animals farther off in the distance and led us into the gorge at the end. Though Tripadvisor gives a general description of the day's order of events, we did still have some questions about how long the bike and hike would take. Of course, these things are subjective depending on how fast/fit you are. We also stopped to take a fair amount of pictures while on the bike, so I would advise people to expect to be out longer than estimated--a possible concern if it's a hot sunny day. My wife was feeling a bit fatigued after the hike, and she ended up biking back just fine, but there was an option to be brought back in a van if need be. The description on Tripadvisor also says that food and drink are not included, but I interpreted this as just not including the optional lunch. Bring your own water as it is not provided, and have fun!Written September 20, 2024
- CallmePamelaJoy0 contributionsThe best tour guide FestusThe tour guide was on time, arrived with a friendly patient demeanour. He was professional and kind, well educated on the animals and gave good information throughout the safari. He was very funny, and nice to chat with. We were able to see so many animals, to name a few - Antelope, Giraffes, Rhinos, Zebras, 2 species of monkeys, guinea fouls, water buffalo’s and so much more. He’s truly passionate about his job, and he doesn’t rush to ensure you have a lovely experience. He’s the best tour guide we’ve had out in Nairobi, Kenya. This is a safari worth doing.. His name is Festus Kazungu ! Was a pleasureWritten September 20, 2024
