Itinerary
- 1Lake Nakuru, a small (it varies from 5 to 30 square kilometers) shallow alkaline lake on the edge of the town of Nakuru lies about 160 kilometers north of Nairobi. It can therefore be visited in a day tour from the capital or more likely as part of a circuit taking in the Masai Mara or Lake Baringo and east to Samburu. The lake is world famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle on earth - myriads of fuschia pink flamingoes whose numbers are legion, often more than a million maybe two. The park now has more than 25 rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country, so the chances of spotting these survivors are good. There are also a number of Rothschild's giraffe, again translocated for safety from western Kenya beginning in 1977. Waterbuck are very common and both the Kenya species are found here. Among the predators are lion and leopard, the latter being seen much more frequently in recent times.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- priscillahk20190 contributionsExcellent services at Salt lick SafariI had excellent experience at Salt lick. Good food ,clean rooms and ambience, The game drove with Philemon was to notch. He guided us well on where to find animals eg lion, elephants etc . He's quite knowledgeable about animals. The catering department Anish and Nicholas made sure we enjoyed our meals.Written September 16, 2024
- 85gabrielea0 contributionsGreat adventure to AmboseliWe took a day tour from Nairobi to Amboseli national park, it was a really great experience, specifically thanks to our amazing tour guide Joe, who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience overall. We managed to see a lot of different animals and it was an incredible experience!Written September 14, 2024
- sjansenavon0 contributionsGreat half day spent in Nairobi. This was a great way to spend a half day in Nairobi. Driver picked us up at our hotel. Spent some time at the elephant orphanage with up close experiences. Then on our way back to town we also stopped at a business where disadvantaged women have learned to make ceramic beads, hand paint them, and then have a small store on site where you can buy all of the beautiful products they make.Written September 12, 2024
- franknE7969VX0 contributionsDavid slapstick elephant orphanageMy experience was good saying elephant been given milk and you can touch them it was good and the people ware so many and I will go back soonWritten September 12, 2024
- arthurlL102ZF0 contributionsBest place to visit in KenyaBest tour in Kenya! I couldn’t have a better moment in Naorobi. The place is beautiful, with a stunning view, gardens and birds that look like paradise. The family is very welcoming, gently and kind, and so the staff. The tea class is fantastic and guided by the most experienced person in the family. The service ir perfect. crockery, cutlery, napkins, all of the best quality. Perfect and artisanal food. from the snacks to the main course and dessert. To top it off, a fantastic tour of the medicinal herb forest guided by its guardian. Fantastic. I would go back a thousand times.Written September 8, 2024

- Advisor-ladyJ0 contributionsPrice tag for tour is not all, international visitors have to pay $50 moreThe elephant orphanage itself is a great cause and i didn't mind paying a very high fee to visit since it is a good cause. What is upsetting is that you can't even go with the tour you buy! You have to buy a separate access fee to the park, which is $45 US dollars. Once again, a good cause, but it feels dishonest to pay over $100 and then be told that you need to pay 50% more. Just charge the full price from the start...Written August 30, 2024
- otov160 contributionsTwice pay for the boat rideEverythink was perfect, guide was really good And kind but the company is not serious for me. i wrote them, that we had to pay for the boat ride And in the itinerar was the boat ride included in the price. The company stop comunicate with me. Its not seriousWritten August 30, 2024
- Aleka20 contributionsGood visit but don't forget to add park entry fee.Just do it. A little pricy but I'm would still recommend. Be sure to get your park entry tickets before you go. The price on most tours do not include this. If you don't have tickets before hand you will need to scramble using the guides cell phone to buy these $43 USD tickets. Tickets are not sold at the entry gate. You will likely hold up your whole group.Written August 25, 2024
- LiweiC310 contributionsChoose your travel agency carefullyThe animals and landscapes were great, but the accommodation was very different from what the travel agent Gracepatt said. The accommodation was temporarily changed, and it was not "similar" as advertised, but cheaper and cheaper accommodation. What's even worse is that when you try to contact the company, there's really no response. I think I still enjoy traveling here, but I will never book with this Gracepatt travel agency again.Written August 21, 2024
- Mary G0 contributionsFun and diverse day tripWe enjoyed meeting and feeding the giraffes at the Giraffe Center. The highlight of the day for us was the elephant orphanage. Seeing the baby elephants being fed by the keepers was delightful. There was also a tiny baby rhino. Try to get in the front of the line for the best viewing. The bead factory provides jobs for Masaii women and the jewelry is lovely. Our final stop gave us the opportunity to see many of the ethnic dances of Kenya.Written August 20, 2024
- lawsonmatthew0 contributionsA Must Go!A must do. Its not only fun to see the wee orphans but the rhino is also the star of the show. Its very informative as well, the (1) hour overview as to why each elephant and rhino is an orphan is very interesting. I would go again in a heart beat.Written August 13, 2024
- GerryBeee0 contributionsWonderful event and would go againA big traffic jam started the evening, but once we got there, we were entertained by a group of four for over two hours. The group was fantastic. During dinner a group of about 20 performed dances and it was amazing to see how limber the entertainers were. Food was very good with offerings of goat, beef, lamb, chicken, turkey, fish, horse, and my favorite of crocodile. The crocodile had a smoked flavor and was very tender. Was too full to try the ostrich. It was amazing to taste foods that I normally would not eat. Would definitely go again if in Nairobi.Written August 7, 2024
- _shaylind2140 contributionsGreat tour. Phenomenal tour guide. One thing I would change. It was just me and the tour guide this day. My tour guide Stephen was phenomenal. He slowed down for photos, assisted me with getting my ticket to the park, and took pictures and videos for me since I was alone. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. One thing I would like to mention that I think should be changed somehow. The price to the park is an additional fee that is mandatory because you are driving through it to get to where you’re going. If they could provide instructions on how to pay it or a link beforehand would be beneficial because the park doesn’t accept cash. Creating the account was a hassle due to the passport photo that kept zooming in on the picture and they didn’t accept certain cards. Because I wasn’t provided a link beforehand it just caused additional unnecessary stress, but thanks to Stephen it all got taken care of. Something to adjust for future tourists. Otherwise, I had an amazing day! Would highly recommend.Written July 31, 2024
